Interesting that genji gloves are more optimized than fury ring due to all the buffs and high stagger %. Divekick chunking for 15-17k is nuts.

To be fair, this is only the case if you can force a very fast stagger. Odin is special in that way. He's got the largest health pool and the fastest stagger potential so breaking the damage limit is more viable on him. Fury ring usually wins out because most things die to 7000 damage divekicks long before you could stagger them.

Aerith can do a lot more with a fully buffed mage build but it's not very easy to do solo. She needs a team to get the most of of her. That's one of the only ways to see something hit for 99,999.

The hitbox doesnt exist (I think) until you see the orange sparks on the ground. It's a deceptive hitbox.

Could you test the effectiveness of Speed Up? I’ve tested it maxed out, paired with Aureate Pinion, and saw no difference compared to no speed buffs. I also tested ATB charge bonus from weapon skills, those seem to be working fine.

I've been told that they only affect the speed of idle ATB generation, which is any time you're not executing an action, or being hit. I won't argue that it has extremely low impact on the ATB you generate throughout a fight so it's probably not worth being considered. I'm not confident that it made much of a difference this time either, but the slot was between Luck Up or Speed Up. Luck up gives a 9% increased chance of dealing 10% extra damage. A mathematical DPS increase of .9%. So not exactly a very meaningful decision (unless, somehow, the extra speed is what ensured I had exactly enough for the sonic boom I used, which is the kinda scenario that edged out my decisionmaking)

I also tested the idle gains, but not in VR like I did for attacking. VR makes for more consistency than over-world, so I’ll return to test that later. You reminded me that I wanted to test Crit damage, but that has some variance in damage RNG. Literally all I’m interested in after Platinum trophy is testing these things. @@meffordjustin if you wanna test crit damage, I recommend using Cait Sith. With the Red Megaphone and 2 Lucky Jockeys, plus his folio Lucky Jockey and two Luck Up materias, he can get to 100% crit rate. The Red Megaphone also has two crit damage boosts, which combined with his folio crit damage boost, can give him up to 140% crit damage. It makes the Red Megaphone his best weapon, and the only "crit weapon" that I believe is worth using. Also, if you do use Cait to test, be sure to test his Lady Luck skill. Idk how much crit rate that it gives but it would be neat if it gave enough of a rate boost that other character's crit weapons would be worth using.

Would it possibly be faster to blizzara -> blizzara instead of blizzaga -> focused strike? Not sure how much they buffed blizzaga stagger in rebirth but in remake 2 blizzara was more stagger than 1 blizzaga.

I haven't tested that. It would need to be enough to skip the focused strike, and the 1st blizzara can't land before Slepnir's Furor. Also Blizzara doesn't stun so that adds a complication instead of removing one. I doubt 2 Blizzaras would be better. They're definitely less damage than 1 Blizzaga, WAY less damage than Blizzaga/Focused and if I did any less damage at the end, my ~3000 damage uppercut that killed Odin at the end would not have been enough and I would have needed another divekick.

It was gonna drive me crazy so I tested it. Blizzara seems to have been nerfed based on how similar single ATB Focused Shot is to Blizzaga. Two blizzara does the exact same stagger as a blizzaga.

Something defensive if you're gonna pilot her. Enhanced karmic cowl, fortuitude ring, full throttle wristguard all good choices. She has all the offense she needs built into her kit

How do you do the instant uppercuts at around 0:52? Is that just buffering hold square during the Divekick?

You could be on to something, I don't know the base power of SD so I don't know if it would have been optimal, but I am happy leaving that space for someone else to come and optimize it further. Just napkin mathing it I think it would need to be significantly more than double the power of divekick, maybe even triple, to offset the additional value provided by uppercuts (3000 damage, 40~% ATB) specifically because it takes 2 ATBs to use SD.
