Getaway Car as the opening track? Beautiful amazing show stopping never been done before. Would have left me only marginally less dead in a ditch than Cruel Summer being the opener Lover deserved. In terms of video ideas, I would love an in depth insight into the reign of terror of Steve and DBT. I was only vaguely aware of it at the time and now no one will speak of it. It’s like fight club but with Me and Brittany

I think Reputation's tracklist is quite perfect, it's making good storyline and even songs sounds really good together like this. In my ranking are all tracks on top, 10/10 all of them.

NYD is literally my fave LOL, but I totally get having a 'thing' that makes a song unenjoyable (like, I've noticed this and now I can't unhear it that way). Sometimes I feel like my reasons for not enjoying a song are stupid because I feel nitpicky, but like, I can't help my brain just not enjoying it. I like your tracklist, I would just have NYD after KOMH and before Ready for it.

I think your tracklist is pretty solid and I agree with a lot of your points! However, I personally would leave Ready For It as the album opener because it works as a prologue + mission statement for the story. Also think about how well crafted it would sound if Taylor says "Baby let the games begin, are you ready for it?" To then continue with "(Nothing good starts in a getaway car) It was the best of times, the worst of crimes..." This would be my personal tracklist: 1. Ready for it 2. Getaway Car 3. idsb 4. Lwymmd 5. Delicate obviously 6. Gorgeous 7. Don't blame me 8. Idwlf 9. So it goes 10. Dress 11. Dwoht 12. King of my heart 13. Call it what you want Ciwyw works well as a closer imo. Especially after Taylor previously saying "Is this the end of all the endings?". King of my heart is a great conclusion to the story but sonically doesn't work as a closer, while Cwyw does. It ends the story in a lighter tone both sonically and lyrically, since the song is pretty much a summary of the whole story and explains how she feels at the end of it.

I really want her to re record I don’t wanna love forever but like a solo version for Rep (Taylor’s Version)

Omg I screamed when you mentioned the brother thing in CIWYW. That bit has always bothered me too, but I just don’t talk about it pretend it isn’t that, and that we’re all mis-singing it every time.

I kinda love it because, at the end, ready for it is kind of a summary of her relationship with Joe up until that point, and it would encourage one to just start the album all over again 😂

end game haunts me

First off, loving the shiny lips & Pulp Fiction shirt ❤ slaaaay! I absolutely love the Reputation album in its entirety. And Dress is my FAVORITE. I completely appreciate your views on this album...she's definitely not everyone's favorite but where would we be without it??

On your new tracklist, I love it! I would add some of my opinion as well, I would still put TIWWCHNT on there after LWYMMD just for the sake of the storyline but remove/change the "Here's to my baby" line since she didn't really have anything going on that much with Joe yet, and prolly still include New Year's Day after KOMH but make it more pop-ish so it won't be an awkward transition between the previous song and "Ready For It" since it's like "You and I will end this year in peace but we would have to be ready for the following year once they know a lot about us".

So far, Rep is my fav of Taylor’s albums. I am really grateful for this breakdown and re-arrange of the tracks… Moving onto my playlist to re-order! 🥰 but: NYD and End Game? 😭😭😭😭

Loved the video! Getaway car as an opener makes sooo much sense. Should ı expect my favorite podcast to return with 2015 part 2 episode any time soon?

as a Rep stan I made your rearranged list a playlist.. gonna go listen now! I’ve never loved I don’t wanna live forever so I’m curious if it’ll change listening to it with Rep songs! I will say New Year’s Day & TIWWCHNT are my least listened to on the album - though I do love the reference to Runaway by Kanye. I don’t hate End Game.. I actually really like the pre chorus and I think it’s a good song to jump rope to lol!

I love the retooling of the tracklist but I miss the delicate to lwymmd transition, i will forever be obsessed with a song called “delicate” fading away to a very delicate, music box esque intro, keeping with the dancer motif from the video, only to have the music box slam shut and reveal the snake underneath, ugh it’s iconic to me. Also love to hear you supporting the lwymmd quirkiness, the weirdass grimace/slimer sound effect in the chorus is *chefs kiss*

Omg your tracklist is perfect! Much better than the original one. I love seeing IDWLF there, I love that song and I hope she includes it on Reputation TV (even though, as far as I know, it's not owned by Big Machine so there's no need for that - but it's still her song, right?). And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who dislikes King Of My Heart lmao.

I’m thinking about the silence where Lwymmd ends and that it’s a great stage for the little girl saying gorgeous before the instrumental kicks in. This could be some truly big brained restructuring.

I don't like Getaway Car a lot like it would really just sit in "aight" tier for me, but that being the opening track of reputation IS SUCH AN ELITE IDEA CAUSE IT'S ONE OF THOSE SONGS THAT DEFINES REPUTATION AND CAN'T BE PUT IN ANY OTHER ALBUM!!! New Years Day sounds really good at 0.75x speed and hits different now when she says all she wanted was his midnights! Like the clues that Midnights was always a "break up album" have always been there #whyissheamastermind

Somewhat unrelated question for you. Links from one album to the next. The last MV on 1989 was OOTW, and the 1st MV from REP is LWYMMD with Taylor in the OOTW dress. Link from one era to the beginning of the next. Then, the first MV of Lover has a snake (Reputation) that turns into butterflies/ pastels and takes us into Lover era. Link from one era to the next. I don’t see a link from Lover to Folklore. But obviously, the Cardigan MV links into the first single from evermore, Willow with the cardigan/cabin/piano/etc. So this is interesting to me, linking 1989 - to - Rep - to - Lover, Folkore - to - Evermore. I can’t find but has she been doing this her entire career? Did she do this from debut to Fearless, Fearless to SN? SN to Red and I just don’t know and can’t find? Seems like she is purposefully taking the narrative from the last era into the first MV of the next album. Is this a thing?

Do you think you’ll be able to do a ranking and reshuffle for evermore at this point? Or is it too soon? Would LOVE your thoughts because evermore has such strong songs, but the track list is a bit of a mess.

The re do of the track list was great, however starting with ready for it was such a moment so I would put it that at the top. Although it’s not as chronologically accurate, I think it’s the perfect opening that’s gets you hyped up.

Interesting and mostly agree except Don’t Blame Me is my favorite song from before folkmore era. I’m a sucker for droning, relentless beats and sound I can drown in.

Right there with you about So It Goes and End Game. End Game is one of the worst on the album. So It Goes is great. I still bop to LWYMMD. It's not one of my favs, but I don't hate it either.

Okay that tracklist reshuffling was pretty good! Honestly I'm fine with cutting the End Game and New Years day even tho I like them. Having them off makes the songs on there a little stronger

Unpopular opinion but I actually really like new year's day as the album closer. It feels like call it what you want is the final response to the world, and new year's day is bringing it back in to close around what was most important, not the world's opinion but this relationship and wanting to be with them during life's highs and quiet domesticity. It feels like a precursor to lover (the song).

OMG. Dress. Iconic bridge, underrated gem. CIWYW; love love love. Iconic TWO bridges, top tier track. Ready For it…. Legendary opener. I Did Something Bad, legendary but better live. If a man talks shit then I owe him nothing. facts. Delicate gift from god, top tier track. LWYMMD, I understand and agree with why she led with this track. LWYMMD, not my fave, but I think you are right, it was the most experimental on the album and I completely understand why it was the lead single. It was polarizing, but I think it was the right move. So it Goes…. Grew on me. i now love the song. 1, 2, 3…??? Legendary! KOMH slander! Iconic bridge. Say you fancy me not fancy stuff (IMO this sums up Reputation, she wants him to fancy her and not her things and her $ and her fame and her persona…it is delicate with drums). DWOHT. I like the acoustic version. Zach, looks like you are a Rep Stan!!!

So the thing is that i'm a new year's day stan for purely personal reasons (it just means a lot to me) but i also understand that 1)it feels like the odd one out at the end of rep and 2)it's not by ANY means a track 5 (i wasn't even aware that there were people who said that lmao). to me, it's just a sweet, melancholic ballad that kind of encapsulates the nostalgia one feels at the end of the year; it's not vulnerable or honest, and it doesn't speak to any og her insecuritied

The other day I was watching one of your videos & you didn't think she had anything in the vault for Reputation. I was thrown off because I specifically remembered an interview I came across in 2019 with Austin Swift where he said something along the lines of 'none of my favorite tracks ended up on the album' . I was planning on commenting about it but I wanted to find it 1st. Well after looking for it obsessively for hours I give up. But I 100% know it exists because when I mentioned it to my mom who's also a huge TS fan, she was like 'don't you remember Austin Swift being butt hurt by his favs not being chosen for the album?' 😆 So it exists but where unfortunately I have no idea.
