dont bother coming back, the game just went wrong in so many ways. Im convinced anyone who still plays gw2 is either overweight, stinks, scrawny, premature mentally, hideous looking people hiding behind their ingame persona, or all lol. I dont think Mightyteapot ever changed his shirt. Dude is a walking meme himself.

oh man it's really nice, I like that it's glory but once the animation settles down it's not over the top. and if you do want it to be over the top, pick contrasting color from ur armor. if don't want it to be glowy, then pick a darker color or something that blends in with case color. love it!!

Honestly i expected bit more ... creativity from a-net. They just slapped glowy runes and called it a day. Concept art medium armor had awesome white glowy eyes effect for that full assassin look. Why wasn't this carrried over as an on/off effect? Either show your face a bit or go full dark assassin face with your lege face mask! Also glowing runes don't fit everywhere. Heavy and mages may be eating good, but rangers, thieves and engies aren't professions that wanna glow like an x-mass tree. A much better approach would be to give each weight class of obsidian armor 3 effects to choose from - one matching each profession. For example medium armor could leave small ink/smoke trails (thief variant), or some small leaf particles (ranger) or small static discharges (engi). Choose one you like, or to disable the effect all together...

Absolutely agree! I was trying to build this and now seeing the outcome for them seem really cheap and uninspired really deterred my motivation. They could have done something really personalized with them like the legendary weapons.

considering how lackluster Soto has been I was expecting this to turn out half assed like this.. It sucks. Anet used to put in such great effort into their designs and now it's just eh.. The concept art was perfect, crazy they moved quite far away from it to give us some glow in the dark exotic looking gear.

The skin for the legendary fasioned from Peitha's armor is my all time favorite so I cover the obsidian leg srmor with it. I probably wont get infused.. though i unlocked the ach. The new gizmo is awesome@!!!

The only good one for me is the medium one. But these are so much more expensive than raid legy armor oh my

I was so excited for this when they showed the concept art.. now it's just.. this. Guess I got to start raiding now, as much as I hate it. If I'm going to put the time and effort into getting legendary armor I want it to look legendary, not something that looks like a cashshop skin. Soto has definitely been the worst time for guild wars 2, I really hope things change around in the next expansion or this game is in trouble potentially.

Not at all. Outside the fact it just costed a lot to make, it was just some spikey black armor with muddy textures. Many other armor sets looked way better.

These upgrades are worth 500g just in terms of ectos (1500) for one set of armour

Looks a lot better than what Anet showcased in that awful trailer but still underwhelming for the amount of work you gotta do.

Bring back Gw1 obsidian armors

Effects are a step down from raid armor but it looks about as good as the default ascended armor. It's fine with me. More importantly, THE NEW RANGER PET

@@AucuneIdee-jv1ih not a fan of the raid armor aswell (except heavy is decent), but at least theyre unique and the effects actually match their look. here they just slapped weirdly placed runic effects on every set. it goes decently well with the heavy version, has that templar theme, but it looks really out of place for the medium and light version. its so unoriginal. its like the budget for the designer was cut halfway through.

@@user-xo2og8kv1o At least the base model is nice enough itself to use even without effects which is arguably preferable. WvW/PvP legendary sets are even worse budget cut sets, which tells you which game mode Anet favors the most with the most fancy set lol.

Honestly i expected bit more ... at least our Raid armor still looks better and i dont need to craft this one. a-net lost a big oportunity to give us a "villian - spect" legendary armor here.

other way around for me. Heavy looks like a basic exotic set. Medium is okay but not bad, light is the most "legendary" looking out of them all, more so the actual design of the armor and its detail. I still don't find the visual effects added for this are "legendary" at all though.

The issue is calling it a variant when it’s not really adding anything significant but requiring more effort to obtain. It’d be like if the aurene weapon variants didn’t change weapon models, but just threw a color filter on the weapon. Would they still be worth a second grind?

Sry, I do not want to hurt anyone's feelings, but it would be nice if it cost like let us say Runic Armor, but with the current requirements and the effort it needs it is just disappointing and ridiculous. Especially the light armor variant, that is very pale.

As cool as they look, the sad reality is... the old ones tranformed physically, these only add sparkles to it. If you have any visual-infusion on your armor, you basically cannot see the sparkles anymore 🥲

Tbh transfer the runic effects to the runic armor set and start over anet that shit doesnt make sense. You can do so much better.

I mean. Let's all be honest here. Armor design was never A-Nets forte. The vast majority of the designs in the game look awful. I wasn't expecting much with these new designs so I'm not as disappointed as others seem to be.

Light armor is embarrassing

They're a bit "noisy", too much detail. With half the golden parts they would look much more elegant and premium.

yep, the quantity and placement of the runes and their effects make it look really clustered and uneasy. its okayish on the heavy, bc at least it fits that templar vibe, but on the medium and light it just looks straight up bad.

The light armor is the most disappointing. The others looks good.

The base skin is amazing, but the glowy/transformation in T3 might be the most underwhelming out of all the leggy armor.

comparing raids extensive summon when going into combat vs this??? its overwhelmingly disappointing in terms of a legendary armor set, even if it is strictly PvE, not saying it should be flashy to the max, BUT its legendary armor, it SHOULD be flashy to the relative max just like the Raid armor is. It looks like a strong armor outfit you can buy off the TP

Meh, boring and a little bit.. ugly? Animation quality has obviously degraded compared to raid leggy sets.

Fml im so disappointed.....

Dam this feels really f-ing lazy. Compared to Envoy, this feels like we’ve been robbed. Because hear me out, we bought the expansion and waited months, MONTHS, FOR THIS! The same armor, but with glowing lights, that’s it. Wow, amazing. Something that looks like you can buy from their cosmetics gem store for 10 bucks. This is the new legendary armor set. I swear if it’s not a black lion exclusive, this is the garbage they think is alright to release for a paid expansion. This feels like, a cope out, and a rushed job. The devs were like, meh we gotta release something… what are we going to do? Random Joe, meh just put some lights on it, we gotta get ready for J Wild. Devs: sighs… ok.

To be fair nobody cares about the design of any leggy armor, the gemstore is for that purpose, we care about leggy armor for the quality of life experience

I am glad T2" didn't make previous legendary armor obsolete. I can understand that it feels cheap though, for those who expected more. The fault lies in expectations, the ship has long been sailed.
