Tie Dye Designs : Side Scrunch Gravity Dye [Ice Dye]
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This tutorial is for a side scrunch gravity ice dye. I show and explain the entire process used to make this cool shirt. This design was inspired by a scrunch gravity dye that I saw from Shannan Marie Sessions.

Great video! As a guy, I’m looking for techniques for creating camouflage patterns. I bet you could make some awesome pine forest and aspen forest patterns. Just found your channel and you take me back to the 60s. Love it!

This came out fantastic, I saw it on Instagram and had to watch the video. I love using those ice pucks because they take forever to melt. I’m going to try this on a tank top later today. ✌🏻❤️

Thank you! I love using the larger chunks of ice too. It's nice to get a slow melt. I hope your tank top turns out great.
WOWWWWW! It's *gorgeous*! Great job Angie! I had no idea what to expect with all those kind of weird colored dyes going on in dry form, but the result is incredibly beautiful. It's just so striking. I love the colors so much, and the side with those beautiful bright scrunches just flows out so lovely over the rest of the shirt. All your work is beautiful, and this one is a 10/10!

Thank you so much! I love all the cool color splits in this one too. I am working on editing a video now for a shirt using just spicy plum and stormy sky from Pro Chemical and Dye, and it is gorgeous! Those two colors give tons of pretty color splits.

I really love the shirt, ESPECIALLY the colors you chose. The splits are amazing. The flow is so cool. I really like this technique too and enjoy watching. I agree with Roger, I'd like to see the same colors, same technique, but starting at the neck. It might be flowerly looking, but I think it would turn out great. Can't wait until you post the video of the other shirt on the horses. Thanks!!!
@FunEndeavors

Thank you! The shirt at the other end of the saw horses has a scrunch at the neck of the shirt. I used different colors, but it turned out looking really pretty too. I'm working on several videos right now. One of the other ones uses just spicy plum and stormy sky from Pro Chemical and that one turned out with lots of cool color splits. This is such a great technique to highlight color splits.

@@FunEndeavors Can't wait! No pressure! 🙂
My very first impression was not favorable, but it grew on me while you talked... I love the side view, but wonder how much might be lost while it is on the body? Afraid the scrunches may be hidden by an arm. I ACTUALLY kept thinking you should try to do this at the collar... it may come out looking like a big ruffle at the neck and fade down into the shirt. If you could make it like a starburst, even better!
@FunEndeavors

At the other end of the guttering I actually had a shirt with the scrunches at the top of the shirt. It turned out looking really cool too. I'm still editing that video and I will have it uploaded soon.

This is spectacular! I worry about shirts drying out while batching. Would hitting it with hot water hurry the batching step?
@FunEndeavors
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! That can be an issue when it is really hot outside. If the color has reached the end of the shirt, you can either use hot water irrigation to finish it, or you can put it inside of a container to process.
Do.u ever do this indoors? Trying to.figure out how to set it up inside.
@FunEndeavors
Жыл бұрын
No, I don't do this process indoors. I do gravity dyeing outside under the trees.
If I ice dyed using black for a design like this, would it be black and maybe gray or would it split into other colors?
@FunEndeavors
Жыл бұрын
Black splits into a variety of beautiful colors. So do most grays (especially charcoal, brushed steel, gunmetal gray). That would be a cool looking shirt!

@@Wheels8504 I really like that look too. Actually there used to be a guy on KZread a few years ago named the tie dye hobo and he did a hang dye technique using liquid dye. It wasn't quite the same look though.
Is soda ash the same as washing soda?
