    Should double enclose the pump, put insulation between the two enclosures. Have the walls 8-10 feet high. Leave the top open so the noise reflects straight up. You could do a 3 sided one also same everything. Leave the open side towards the deep woods or the direction that’s less likely to have anyone come in from. Also hang old cheap throw rugs on the inside walls facing the generator. That absorbs a lot of noise too.

    I was thinking almost the same thing, except just dig a whole in the ground around 4ft maybe, then set the machine in the hole cover the hole up with a thick piece of wood, then put a makeshift exhaust on whatever machine your using to also help quiet it and so you can keep the fumes out of the hole.. It sounds like alot to do, but it really wouldn't take that long..

    This is just being reran for UK audiences, this show is years old & they’ve made a nice name for themselves. This was only aired in the US during it’s original runtime. I think it’s funny because of the fascination that foreigners have with the southern United States.

    My dad had a stil in our basement my whole childhood, but it was different, it had a standing condenser, called the Monkey, it was shaped like an upside down U, with two chambers, one containing the cooling spiral, which was hooked onto a water hose. Mash tank about 25 L, All stainless steel. We would Use a pipe containing charcoal and run it through. Spirits would come out about 90% alcohol. The alcohol was never diluted, but mixed with hot coffee for a brainsmashing effect

    Was out walking my dog down the canal one day and came across this narrowboat with its back doors wide open when what do I spy with my little eye? The tiniest little distiller you ever imagined. Got talking to the guy, friendly as hell, and he wasn't shy about showing me his produce. It only gave him one jar per run but hell it was just awesome to see this guy living his best life in his little boat. That's how moonshiners do it in the UK!

    Could produce off flavors that would ruin the finished brandy. Also, the pits of stone fruit if eaten, metabolize and turn into cyanide. And you don't exactly want to poison your clients if you want repeat customers.

    I had a coworker who makes moonshine...he has a shine that he calls Apple Pie, it's the most AMAZING alcohol I've ever tasted. I buy a few gallons when ever he makes it

    I can only speak for what I've had in the UK but simple answer, moonshine is some of the smoothest alcohol you can get. BlackBerry shine and apple pie shine are amazing.

    People say it's all fake.. but I've seen some things would be hard to fake. Like the video where the rookie sits flaming alcohol by a still and the cap explodes off from leaking alcohol vapor. Plus I see them use hydrometers all the time. And I've seen them get all drunk while making it.

    How many states do not have a helmet law for mortorcyles? Yet its the law to wear a seatbelt....oh unless on a schoolbus then the kids dont need to wear belts...because there isnt any. All makes sense to me.
