@@Jprager Well, the way the movie works is that it has Jon performing it on stage (not actual footage, though) and there's also those moments happening like in a normal movie. In the stage part, Vanessa's character (as well as Joshua Henry's) are backup vocalists for Jon, so everytime there's a song in this part, it's sung by them. Therefore, in a few parts, yes, she is kind of an illustration of Alexandra's character. Hope you understood that and sorry if this was too confusing, English isn't my first language :)

Alexandra was criminally underused in the X-Men movies. One of the most iconic superheroes and they gave her nothing to do. Glad that Tick Tick Boom is giving her a chance to show how talented she is. Edit: I’m not saying Storm should have had a random solo or anything. I’m referring to the fact that TTB showed that Alexandra is a good actress and that wasn’t showcased in the X-Men films.

I cried like a baby when Alexandra began to sing this song during the movie. I cried even more watching Andrew Garfield crying while she continued. By far my favorite movie of 2021.

Alexandra Shipp deserves all the recognition and exposure! Such a talent!

not joking when i say i've watched this movie once every month since its release. thats 12 months in a year, so once every month it would be about 10 or 11 times because its almost the end of '22. first time i watched was on new years eve, it ended at 11:59 pm and i was crying. and the the clock struck new year of '22 and i cried more, lol. perfect movie, perfect timing.

ALEXANDRA’S VOICE GIVES ME CHILLS

Once this song played in the movie, I immediately thought how Jonathan's hard work was all worth it. I always like Vanessa, but I can't forget Alexandra in this performance.

this song was always my favorite, because of the notes, the words, the vocals... everything. but recently since finding out and knowing that this song, the song I LOVE MOST, took jonathan larson the LONGEST TO WRITE of them all? it means more than it had. that proves that jonathan succeeded with this song... it is perfect, and all the months of thinking and wondering what to write and how to write it really did pay off.

this scene in the movie had me in tears... seeing andrew crying while alex was singing it? like omgggggg. also the "why" sequence got me too. it always does, every damn time.

Alexandra has such a beautiful speaking voice and I'm so glad her accent comes through in her singing, she sounds incredible! And Vanessa is such a natural, her voice is so distinctive even when she's part of the ensemble, she still shines!! I love how great they sound together too 💖💖💖

Alex’s voice in this song (and the song itself) grabbed my heart and it hasn’t let it it go. It’s hauntingly beautiful. I wish she would have done the whole song alone, though this is cool too.

the one thing i take away from andrew's performance in this scene (as well as the entire movie) is the raw emotion he shows. especially here and in "why". he took pain and emotion from his own experiences and put it all here. he took this project to help heal his own grief, with the death of his mother from cancer (i can relate, i lost family to the same thing, actually the same month of the same year as andrew did. crazy). i see where he is coming from, and i look up to him because he gave me a better understanding and insight on what loss is, how to deal with it and move forward and keep living life. the way he looks at it is so beautiful and inspiring and helpful. he makes it seem, like, not hard. he talks so positive about it. you can see what all this means to him, it shows. forever grateful for him.

This movie totally deserved more Oscar nominations, I cant believe it is like so underrated!!

Susan went through a lot with jonathan until he started neglecting her. i’m going through a breakup and this song really summarizes what i’m going through. Alexandra and Vanessa were so good in this movie and we’re really ignored by most people who watched it. overall amazing song and movie

I want to hear Vanessa sing the "Come to your senses" chorus part.

The 3:51 repetition, especially with Vanessa's voice rifting off of Shipp's gave me rent life support vibes.
