Usually there comes the extended music with the win of a car.

In Philly, "Tic Tac Dough" and "Wheel of Fortune" aired back-to-back from 1983-85 at 7PM & 7:30PM on WPVI. TTD's sister show, "The Joker's Wild", which aired for years behind TTD, was moved to 11AM (during Jack Berry's last year of life, Bill Cullen replaced Berry following his death in May, 1984). "Jeopardy!" with Alex Trebek, premiered in September, 1984 at 12:30PM on KYW, replacing reruns of "Card Sharks" with Jim Perry. In September, 1985, "J!" moved to WPVI at 7PM, pairing it with its sister show, WOF. This has remained unchanged since. Reruns of the first season of J! aired at 11AM on WPVI, replacing TJW. TTD, which by that time with Jim Caldwell replacing Wink as host, moved to WCAU at 9AM for its final season. TJW was possibly dropped from the Philly airwaves for its final season, as I didn't see it.

WPIX-TV (channel 11) in NYC was the first to aired this game show on weeknights back in 1978 until about 1983 or 1984. The show moved to WOR-TV (channel 9) on weekday afternoons until 1986.

I recently saw Wink applauding in the audience on 'Jeopardy!".

I remember this game show it was one of two of the first game shows I saw as a kid growing up in the late 70’s and early 80’s the other one was the jokers wild with Jack Berry.

In my market they were back to back and depending on the year either the 6:00 hour or 2:00 in the early 1980s.

Nahhh. I was alive and well then. Huge difference.

My driving instructor was in a band and when "Robert Zimmerman" tried out for vocals, they turned him down because of his voice.

@@paullarue2010 The dragon is the mean one which was the Mean Dragon, and it’s also Spike’s big brother. Spike is the character from “My Little Pony” G1 and G4. The dragon appeared in a box art for a board game that I have, and the bonus game cards that have four Mean Dragons on there.

Ahhh … those were the days! Remember watching this show as a kid. I had such optimism and joy and felt safe with my mom and dad and little brother. And that is all I am going to say otherwise I will veer off on a political and sociological tangent about the state of affairs today …

2:30 California Stuffed Toys is still in business and the Gazebo hotel in Sydney is still operating. 14:26 Galaxy Carpeting is still around, but was acquired by Mohawk Industries in 1995. Michael C Fina continued on until 2016 when it closed its brick and mortar stores and went to an online business which then closed for good in 2019.

I don’t think so, except the MGM logo with various lions still gives me nightmares, but the Mean Dragon isn’t scary. I saw this on a board game that I got with the same dragon on the front, sides, the back, the instructions, and the Bonus Game cards that have four Mean Dragons on the cards. They’re all pixelated images.

During the 84/85 Season, Winker was in his last year as host of TTD He left the show on Good Terms, but the show was already falling in the ratings when it all started in the 81/82 Season when syndication saw the debut of P.M. Magazine, Entertainment Tonight and The People's Court with the late Judge Wapner and after BULLSEYE got cancelled in 1982, Tic Tac Dough and The Joker's Wild would continue to suffer in the ratings, but then came the 83/84 Season and Nighttime Version of Wheel of Fortune (Wheel was still going strong on NBC Daytime) and Love Connection with Former Wheel of Fortune Host Chuck Woolery and then the following season came the return of JEOPARDY! with the late Alex Trebek and then the 85/86 Season saw lots of Game Shows including the return of Pyramid on syndication with the BIGGEST Jackpot $100,000 as it was The Original $100,000 Pyramid (CBS Daytime still had The NEW $25,000 Pyramid) and after TTD & TJW got cancelled then came Oprah Winfrey followed by Geraldo and Court Shows galore with Superior Court (from the producers of The People's Court) Divorce Court & The Judge

I'm not a fan of the Bonus Category because you can keep taking it and can win a game without your opponent getting a turn (or barely getting one). To me, Double or Nothing is fairer because you are risking something. I'd probably like it if like Double or Nothing the board didn't shuffle so you can at most gain two boxes at a turn.

That was why, if a contestant won via either of those categories without their opponent getting a single symbol on the board, the defeated contestant would be allowed to return in the next game.

Kit lost to Bob when Kit misspelled misspell with double or nothing and then Bob chose the double or nothing and got both. Then, by the position of Kit's double or nothing after that. Then Bob's double or nothing made him win. It was on here, but it is nowhere to be found.

Its been about 40 years since I've watched this.so I'm watching the 2 game here and he didn't get the Dragon and the bonus game was over and I'm like,what happened?.. I had forgotten you only got 4 chances...it should be you play until you either win,or get the Dragon. Cheap game prize.

This was on British tele? I lived in England in 1984 and i can't remember seeing this!

Would love to see what happened after the show like a where are they now segment? Like the press your luck guy one.

I once watched an episode of "Tick,Tack Dough" hosted by #WinkMartindale. The contestant was one answer away from winning the grand prize but obviously didn't know the answer to the question, so he/she said "Wink, I heard an audience member say the answer." Wink hesitantly threw out the question, the contestant correctly answered the replacement question. What a scam! I felt so bad for the other contestant who was so obviously cheated... SMH... Does anyone remember that "Tick Tack Dough" episode?... Oh! it was Yoooou and it was called "Tic, Tac Dough"... MY BAD!😀

That's probably why Ideal's 1978 TTD home game had several Dragon cards...I recall a listing, many years ago, for a copy on eBay saying "one dragon is torn (someone lost!)".

Wonder whatever became of kit? Hopefully is still around lived a full life kids grandkids etc
