Lion dance (traditional Chinese: 舞獅; simplified Chinese: 舞狮; pinyin: wǔshī) is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune. The lion dance is usually performed during the Chinese New Year and other traditional, cultural and religious festivals. It may also be performed at important occasions such as business opening events, special celebrations or wedding ceremonies, or may be used to honour special guests by the Chinese communities. The Chinese lion dance is normally operated by two dancers, one of whom manipulates the head while the other forms the rear end of the lion. It is distinguishable from the dragon dance which is performed by many people who hold the long sinuous body of the dragon on poles. Lion dance fundamental movements can be found in Chinese martial arts, and it is commonly performed to a vigorous drum beat. There are two main forms of the Lion dance, the Northern Lion and the Southern Lion. Both forms are commonly found around the world especially in Southeast Asia, the Southern Lion predominates as it was spread by the Chinese diaspora communities who are historically mostly of Southern Chinese origin. Versions of lion dance related to the Chinese lion are also found in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. Besides the Chinese-based lion dance, other forms of lion dance also exist in India, Indonesia, and East Africa.

Bro.Thats Tibetan Buddhism in general lol.Tibet buddhism may worship Buddha but its not even close to Buddha's teachings as Tibetan Buddhism is Buddhism mixed with other folklores and even some parts of Hinduism.When u visit a Tibetan monastry u can clearly see the difference. The only sect thats close to Buddhism is Theravada Buddhism especially of places like Laos where monks don't worship Buddha.Instead they live a life like Buddha with no luxury and Go around places for food which the people give them.

@@lalitthapa101 i saw lots of tibetan monks and tibetan cultural nepali monks they most are nonveg,alcoholic,married and living luxury life.they come to read tibetan books and they demanding momo,chiken,wine,beer,etc.what kind of buddhist is this?i don't like this. Buddha said if you don't have any food to eat then you can eat meat. Pureveg simple living monks could inspire us to be pureveg and live simple life. This is real buddhism.i don't mean monks n nuns should go to alone forest.

@@jeevankumargurung2438 first of all you can't generalize entire Tibetan Buddhism with just how u saw monks. Second, i said it before Tibetan Buddhism isn't really buddhism.It endorses many things that goes against Buddha's teachings like idol worship and chanting of mantras and offer in alcohols and u have to understand that. Tibetan buddhuism is a way different sect of buddhism where buddha is the biggest god among many other gods.Plus they worship three biggest gods-Buddha,Rimpoche and Dolma.Even see Tibetan art and some calendars its a whole different one from buddhism and thats why Theravada Buddhism is the closest to actual Buddhism This dosent mean Tibetan isn't buddhism.Its just they view Buddha as different and they have their own mix with various folklores,gods etc. Tibetan Buddhism wasn't even founded by Buddha and thus operates very differently.Marrying monks is very rare u may have seem some but there are regulation to marrying and most buddhist monks don't marry

Firstly non veg isn't prohibited in Buddhism at all. Non veg isn't luxury but requirement of Tibet. There is nother practices of alcoholism and luxurious life by monk or nuns in Tibet, they follow Venayas strictly.

@@prashantkamble1258 agree with everything but a slight one from me,Tibetan Buddhists do use alcohol for rituals and also Buddhists drink some during worshipping.Especially the Mahayana sect. But otherwise completely agree with every thing you said as I was also trying to say the same thing
