I know right, he knew not to extent his foot straight into the baby face, putting his leg over the head and down overt the shoulder. What an amazing display of a gentle giant. I have a German shepard, and he is very gentle around kids, but sometimes he may put the paw up just a little to quick and little to close to the face. Not in aggresion, just excitement. Been working on it with him and he's definitely improving.

Not just dogs, I grew up with a goose and if the goose thought I was in any danger he would go after the person, dog whatever. I also had a St Bernard and she was between me and anyone who came into our home, wherever I went she was always at my flank. Years later when my son was a baby we had a chow mix and she did the same thing. A friend of my husband's was going to pat my son on the head and Trip knocked his hand down with her paw and growled. Neither my husband nor I had heard her growl. I love animal's I would much rather spend time reading a book with my dog.

I’d feel sorry for the person that tried to harm that baby in any way.

Unfortunately, that dog will probably die by the time she's 8 years old. They don't live very long. I'm sure it will be heartbreaking to lose such a close companion at such a young age. She'll probably grow up to never have a dog again because of the devastating loss she suffered at 8 years old. Poor little Michie, she thought Rolf would live forever.

I remember when I was pregnant mine was so protective of me. My husband brought home our child's blanket for my fur baby to smell and get acquainted too. Then we made the introduction. All I can say is, we don't deserve dogs. They're amazing creatures. My pup has laid next to my child for 9 going on 10 years. That's her baby 😆 it's so sweet.

Всю жизнь прожила с собаками. Мне 71, 26 января будет 6 лет как ушла последняя. В год песчаной собаки и была рыженькой. Думаю она чувствовала. Обычно новый год лежала около меня , и мы смотрели с ней огонек. А здесь ушла после курантов и не вернулась. С1989 года у нас были свои собачки три поколения. Две, потом три, потом опять две и одна. Благодарю судьбу, что они были рядом. Мне их не хватает. Сейчас 6 котеек. Но это , как говорится, другая история

When I was pregnant my dog (Papillon) all of a sudden was obsessed with my belly. He would try to lay down on it all the time. When I had my baby he didn’t do it anymore. He just wanted to be near the baby. It was interesting.

What a beautiful animal. Be careful with that chain though. If he feels like he needs to defend her and runs towards a threat, he could easily and unintentionally harm a grown man, much less a baby.

My Great Pyrenees is exactly like this. She won't let anyone near my 3-year-old twin siblings. Our friend who she hadn't met tried to give them a hug and she herded the toddlers away from the person. Love this breed so much

@@Courtesyflush52 She didn't show any aggression or reactivity and once she was properly introduced to the person she was perfectly fine with her. I think this behaviour is great and she is doing her job in protecting her humans. If she had been growling or acting nervous I would have showed her the proper behaviour and worked with her on it but she was not.

I'd disagree sorry. I love my rottweiler but my best mate is like a brother to me. He's the only non rich lawyer I've met. When I hit rock bottom about 10 years ago he was beside me the whole way,legally, financially, emotionally. He stood there with his arm around me at 4 am in the morning when we found my mum dead and he took care of everything when I fell apart. I was about to declare bankruptcy when he stepped in and took control. Man that guy is a bulldog when it comes to dealing with the banks and tax department. I have never had a truer friend. And I make sure it's reciprocal on my part. I am a pretty easy going person but I also know how to set limits on people. I believe you meet thousands of acquaintances along life's journey but occasionally you meet someone who becomes a true and amazing friend. Im happy to have a few amazing mates and a handful of people I want to socialise with. The world is full of dickheads. I just distance myself from them wherever possible.

The gentle way he moves the child from his personal space is heartwarming. Many others wouldn't be so gentle with the child or know that it was a child in the first place.

Looks like the animal playfully asked the baby: "Did you Poo Poo? Come here let me smell you!" Hahahaha
