I think a lot of people forget that this is an indie game, developed by a small amount of people. I’d say it looks like a great game, even if it isn’t groundbreaking. This is the kind of game we need. Simple and sweet. It reminds us that a game doesn’t need to be ‘the next big thing’ in order to be good and fun.

This is such a tired old excuse. I don't care how many people worked on it, or how long they had, or what their budget was. The moment they slap a price tag on the game, it's going to be compared to every other game around the same price point or lower.

Got this game last night and I'm loving the combat. I have my struggles here and there, but it was definitely worth the $24. Also wanted to give extra credit to the boss music in this game. Those tunes have no right to go as hard as they do and it really sells the fights for me.
Played the first few hours of this tonight and I’m loving it. It’s literally Sekiro mixed with Bloodborne, with a dash of Ashes of War from Elden Ring thrown in for flavor and strategy. I also really like the talent tree options. Straightforward, but had me thinking about what I prefer in my play style. I’m really digging it all around for a $20 game made by 7 people.

just a note on the parry system, it also drains health and a small amount of wounds, so combat is actually sped up if you parry more than you dodge which is a nice incentive to learning the system. certain bosses also have combos that are hard to doge and easier to parry. Some bosses, you can dodge or parry easily, but the distance between you two can get large so parrying can help keep the gap close. you gotta be careful if you play a real souls game at some point, because (most except one) games in the series are based on fairness, so going in with the public opinion that "all fromsoft games are made for clinically insane people, and not everyone can play them" is not true. The games just demand high levels of focus and commitment, but nearly all of them have a nice learning curve, where you get to learn the mechanics and progress through the game at a steady pace without being obliterated. And then there's elden ring, which lets you go whever you want if you're having trouble with a boss or area. In the end, if you decide to play a fromsoftware game, just know you shouldn't approach it like its the video game equivalent of an iron maiden

Thanks for the advice. I did end ul buying it. Full price. Worth it for me. Bloodborne left such a hole, and after ng+twentysomething it is just not the same anymore. This feels fast and compelling but it does hold your hand. It is easier than the souls formula for sure. Idk. Souls has something beyond dificulty. It is not that ghostrunner is easy but it is no souls. This is not souls either. But it is something of a refreshing taste. You can see where they cut corners, but in my oppinion it is worth it. Remember code vein. What that was hyped up to be. This is way better. And remember scarlet nexus. What that was made out to be. Yeah. This is better for sure. But it is cut from the same cloth. Narrow paths to walk and not much to explore. Yet there are a few times to realy think about how you got there. The stealing mechanic also just feels right. The story is not as flat as you guys say imo. I dig it. But the world is kind of weird for sure. To me it is worth it. But i can see it falling flat for many people. To me they cut just the right parts. I would rather have great gameplay then voice acting, however a little more i wouldn't mind.

Also on Game Pass, thanks for remind me on this game.
Heck Yeah!
It did take me a while to get into thymesia, but once I did, I loved the gameplay, the music, the atmosphere-it’s a very simple game, but I like it.
The combat looks kinda interesting, but this game has no identity. The presentation looks damn near exactly like Bloodbourne and Elden Ring. Maybe when they make some more games in the future they can add more uniqueness to their world.
With how dry game releases have been this month, the timing for this release is perfect.
It’s the first time I watched your video before I actually buy something lol ! I will end up buying it anyway tho
I like u see how the enemies prepare to do a attack. In ac valhalla, the animals just plain drift around crazily fast.
I'm a simple guy, I see that a new game with really nice graphics and setting is Soulslike I throw in the trash.
Feels like it should be $10 including tax.
I’m spending some time with this game this weekend for sure, I played it for like 10 minutes last night. Only complaint is the motion blur…
Literally only took a chance on this game because you said a gameranx homie was in the development team. Graphics are super clean and as you stated the combat system def got a lot of work put in, I really like dash movement that’s was implemented in this game over the roll movement mechanics found in other traditional souls style games. But never would of even of taken a chance on this game had you not mentioned a Gameranx guy helped make it. Keep up the good content and I’ll continue to watch daily.
It looks like a good weekend game. Also tomorrow starts the weekend lol
i have been playing and beat the second boss, so far i am enjoying it .

Gameranx always coming in clutch as usual 🔥
I played it and liking it….good game till now❤️❤️
So essentially this is a well made and well priced, indie Souls-like. Sounds like a buy to me.

Honestly, even at a budget price, I'd recommend waiting for it to go down. It was fun, but not really a lot of replayablity there. And just sort of okay all around. It's not a bad game, but not much more than just good.

@@RagnarokMic I'm not a sucker for replayability and I don't like a game that overstates its welcome.
Man, there are so many games that have come out recently. Are you guys gonna do a video for Rollerdome? That’s one that I’ve not seen too much about and would love to get your guys’ thoughts on it
Hi, If possible , could you please also do reviews on " Blacktail " ?? Thank you
Who else is waiting for Lies Of P?
Yeah this doesn't seem to be great. Good, especially considering the size of the development team but not great of a game still. The combat just feels off. The weightiness, responsiveness, animations need a hell of a lot more work to feel good in hands. Bosses are a joke as they just end up being more of a dps test since they just run off and heal while you're just tailing and attacking. Good effort nonetheless though.
I like the some what isometric view I wish the option to have this camera angle was there in dark souls
The Sekiro-Bloodborne blend is quite weird. I played the demo and it felt like the deflect system is a bit weird, it's not as snappy as Sekiro where you can pretty much instablock even mid command. In here, as far as I remember there is little to no room for command cancellation. The dodge is pretty lengthy which makes it the go to mechanic, which doesn't encourage learning the deflect mechanic.
Every once in awhile Jake showcases a game where his attempt at positive feedback makes the game sound bad and negatives are worse. This game looked bad, and with this showcase it seems even worse. Why play a knockoff of BB and Sekiro when they exist today.
As someone who’s seen reviews of this game prior to it dropping and oddly getting a “before you buy” gonna hard pass on this, even the gameplay showed here looks mediocre at best 💀.
That big rat bat thing was awesome. I hadn't heard of it until yesterday looking through used games on Gamefly. It looks like the kind of game I would put down pretty quickly so even though it's only $20 I think I'll hold off and see if it pops up on Game Pass. Speaking of Game Pass, are you old enough to remember Sega Channel? It was pretty much the same thing as Game Pass but you had to get it through your cable and if memory serves it wasn't available in as many places that it was which really surprised me since I lived in Montgomery Alabama. This was directed at anyone that reads it and no, I didn't marry my cousin.
I wish they added more effort In the game to make it deeper and richer gameplay with solid story longer gameplay ,bigger world and more mob and bosses variety
Didn't like this too much, the combat specifically. You are incentivised to be aggressive but with no rally system like Bloodborne it's to your detriment. Parrying feels off too, and you aren't given any frame advantage or riposte for successfully pulling it off. Dodging seems to be the way to go for the most part, but this is counterintuitive to wound system since you want to be aggressive. It just didn't gel well for me in the end.

I really suggest 'Bloodborne' instead of playing the Chinese knock-off, "Bloodboarne"
It sounds like the Greek word THI-MI-SOY that means remember
Nope, thanks for saving me a ton of time.
