    Favorite show on KZread. I might have said this before and if so (and if you actually read it) I apologize for the redundancy, but if y'all made a podcast that was pure Seen It's I would be sure to listen. I feel like that might be easier to edit and possibly more accessible to people because sometimes listening is more convenient than watching. And you would potentially have more time to expand on your thoughts on certain films rather than just one or two little nuggets. Honestly I think I could listen to you two talk movies all day. Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Thank you for broadening my movie horizons every year! Keep up the fantastic work and I promise that one day, when I'm not struggling to pay rent, I'll make a hefty donation.

    Wow, what a beautiful episode! You start off with talking about a podcast I just listened to couple of days ago, spice it up with a Throbbing Gristle reference and you have Daydream Nation in the background. Fantastic as always! Also I made a list, I don't know if it's really a thing, but it is for me. If I remember correctly, Craig took on a challenge last season(?) to see 150 movies during the year, I wanted to see a hundred (that I hadn't seen before). Here's a list of everything I've seen so far this year: The Exorcist Hateful Eight El orfanato Rushmore Phantom of the Paradise Boogie Nights Dawn of the Dead Dahmer Chopping Mall Pirates Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! Foxy Brown Paperitähti Leijonasydän Il Conformista The Notebook Blazing Saddles Kindergarten Cop Love Exposure Spellbound Marty The War In Space Under the Skin Deliverance Goodfellas Bug Mad Max: Fury Road Daisies Midnight Movies: From the Margin to the Mainstream Mies vailla menneisyyttä It Follows Tinker Bell Roar Lost In Translation Scorpio Rising Lucifer Rising Daft Punk Unchained I Saw the Devil Left Behind Dog Day Afternoon Interstellar Inception Hobo with a Shotgun Truman Show Yellow Submarine The VVitch Niin metsä vastaa* Savage Streets Blood and Black Lace The Conqueror Malcolm X Men Behind the Sun Slap Shot Fitzcarraldo Apocalypse Now! Have a good one lads!

    That shot in the Bottle Rocket short film of the flowers with Vince Guaraldi's 'Skating' is one of my favorites in all of Anderson's films. I really wish it had been redone in the feature.

  • @TAEpley

    @TAEpley

    7 жыл бұрын

    I was just thinking that the Vince Guaraldi appearance was the one distinctly Andersonian touch in this film (well, maybe the pinball machine as well). There were a few more standard-bearers in the feature-length version, and finally in "Rushmore" the iconography was fully in place.

    30 Odd Foot of Grunt (not Grunts) - '30 odd' means 'about 30' and 'grunt' means powerful, usually in reference to engines. I've never heard of '30 odd foot of' something as a colloquialism, but I take it to mean 'a lot of'. I've never heard their music, but always thought it was kind of a fun name.

    Speaking of Ray Milland, have you seen The Uninvited, a good old fashioned ghost story from 1944. Perhaps the first example of a Hollywood film in which the ghosts turn out to actually be ghosts and not rum runners and underground Nazis attempting to scare the people away from a house or a place so that they can continue their nefarious deeds (ala Hold That Ghost, etc).
