A video compilation of a non-severe thunderstorm that affected the SW West Island-Vaudreuil area during the mid-afternoon period.
Thunderstorms were quite isolated, but a few sub-areas within this general area were affected by them during the afternoon, enabling this general area and, subsequently, affected sub-areas to collect yet another thunderstorm day. Thunderstorms were associated with a cold front, as well as a moderately unstable environment. As with the previous day, shearing fields remained rather weak, and so convection was slow-moving and quickly weakening soon after developing. The video highlights the heavy rainfall associated with this thunderstorm, causing fairly rapid water accumulation in my area. One thunder occurrence was observed, although, frustratingly, largely missed on camera (the ending sound of it is narrowly captured, and the associated lightning was picked up by lightning detection networks).
