I absolutely LOVE the moment before a big storm! It's like the whole world is holding it's breath!

This is one of the best storm videos on the TUBE. I hate it when the others play music or talk during the entire scene. Just let it play. Thank you.

God, the calm before the storm. So quiet, so peaceful. Then... BAM! Hell breaks loose. Love it.
The only thing that would make it better is if it was at night. I love stormy nights like that!!!!

These type of straight line storms don't tend to last long, maybe fifteen minutes, but the damage is untold

IN A STRANGE WAY, SO DO I. SEEMS AS THOUGH THE RAIN WASHES AWAY THE BAD THINGS AND LEAVES THE EARTH FRESH AND CLEAN.
Wow I love storms like these with lightning 🌩 ⛈ thunders and rain 🌧
wow.... that is some terrifying weather... im from the uk so as u can imagine, ive never experienced, nor has anybody else experienced that type of weather here before :P
The winds of a derecho are so powerful that the storm itself actually gets "squished" by them into a narrow, curved line. Known as a "bow echo".
Mother nature at her best
Good old 2008. full of surprises.
Man u can hear it growling in the beginning, great stuff!
It makes you "feel" for those who live along hurricane alley. These thunderstorms, as intense as they can be, are usually short-lived. Hurricanes are much more powerful and can last for many hours.
I was on the Metro when the storm hit. I was disappointed that I missed it.
I had this time we’re we were surrounded by a bunch of thunderstorms in the edge of sunset and boy the clouds looked like monsters, for a second it looked like the end of the world with the sun on one tiny side with the rest pitch black with Lightning’s and because the sun was somehow able to peek trough the thunderstorm it made it have this cool effect were it was day light under a huge dark cloud until eventually the clouds covered the sun and then it was a lightning show with a bunch of heavy torrential rain. I will never forget that day...
i was so scared yesterday. in my 18 years of life here, i don't recall ever being under a tornado warning in montgomery county (bethesda). i was home alone, huddled in my dad's office behind a couch cushion with the radio, cell phone, and flashlight. I'm so glad i got to leave work early in the morning, otherwise i would have been in rockville where all the power is gone and they got the a major brunt of it.
Wow, great footage. Thank you 😊⛈
This was the same storm system that washed out a lake in Wisconsin Dells here in WI, and followed my class on our senior trip to New York City and ruined the first few days lol
Wow this is so Relaxing!!!
This is some good quality for 2008
This is my favorite storm video. At the start the suspense and energy in the air are almost palpable. I love storms, but don't want to chase. I wonder where a guy could hang out during the spring/summer and reliably see whoop ass storms all the time.
Well that escalated quickly 😎
I was downtown when it all hit, what you have here is exactly what I saw before all hell broke loose.
Wow...I was NOT expecting that! Around the middle, it didn't look much different than hurricane footage I've seen. Good video.
I like that greenish tint to the sky.
and its ironic too. I goto Northwest high school and our principle issued a tornado drill about a week or so before this storm. all 2000+ students (including me) felt she was an idiot cause what were the chances! of course when this storm popped up, tornado warnings were flying all over the place. this was one hell of a storm (like this video, my video you cant see much the rain gets so thick, videos can never describe the raw power of this storm)
such a beautiful house and green sorroundings
Enjoying the video and was thinking how nice it was that there was no commentary when all of a sudden i hear....HOLY SHIT....lol. made me giggle is all. Glad he was ok
be careful and be safe with the storm
this thing was freaky. i live right outside d.c. and the news and weather channel said tornado warning, i'm like "wtf? here" and of course probably overacted in the way i ran to the basement. but my parents and brother weren't at home. and i couldn't call them and the t.v. didn't work. 3 days b4 graduation. party!
I'm curious as to why those trees were sd still as they were. Compared to other similar vids they're hardly moving. Uz the wind not str8 line or are you guys in a valley. Just curious
A bunch of tornado's hit chester, Va and I remember the sky looking that weird shade of green.

Water droplets in storm clouds mixing with the blue skies and sunlight cause the sky to look green. Doesn't necessarily mean there will be a tornado but often it does produce hail at least.
Holy sh*t that was some mother fu*ker of a storm!!!
Holy Crap!!!! what a storm!!!!! i wish we had them like that in the UK... awesome!!
Coming down pretty hard.
Maryland has some of the best ones!! I remember the July 3, 1992 Ocean City supercell that cleared the beach, and even the evacuation sirens went off. It had a very dramatic roll cloud and 40+ minutes of torrential rain and incredibly dangerous lightning.

I dont know what it is about a good hard storm that I just love.
Wonder what the radar imagery was like?
I loved this video!
0:39 green clouds are so pretty :3 btw, your lucky to be in maryland .-. we had a tornado. You can really hear the wind. What a nice surprise after school.
I'm from Ireland and i can remember I ever went through a storm like this in case you mean a snow storm ya we went through a lot of time
yeah, my brother goes to lab school in nw and said they heard tornado sirens across the river in n. va. why would she tell you to roll the windows up? that is the last thing i would worry about.
Love It and Thanks
I need somebody 2 loop this video...
Wonderful !!!!!!!!
Awesome video! :)
Sweet zombie Jesus that must have been awesome. For a bit there it sounded like someone had a seizure in an industrial kitchen and was tossing everything made of metal. Frickin cool.
oh gosh I would be feaking out right now I hate storms! mostly because they produce tornadoes in arkansas
great video i bet its the same storm i got earlyer that day i live in Sterling VA.
I love storms too we ve had some pretty bad thunderstorms !
Winds for 80mph
i seriusley remeber this one it was huge where i am i guess it was like a tornado but we dont get tornadoes in maryland
nice job, thats alot of rain, mothernature listens to you.
I remember this!
Like this storm so much
very, very seldom do we get storms like that here in Toronto - friggin intense!
That is a terrible thunderstorm!
cool vid dude
I'm very much aware of the dynamics that distinguish the two. Hurricanes are tropical cyclones, whereas, thunderstorms are convective phenomena. I was merely attempting to form a analogy for those who have never experienced a real hurricane.

Just from that green color i know its gonna be a bad storm, green, mystic grey purple , i always think tornado weather is on its way when i see those mysterious colors
nice
yeah i got footage of the storm too (see on my channel) but i only had my cell phone on me so it came out really low quality. But it was just like. and i said the exact same thing. "shit" and "oh my god" through the whole thing cause it was that shocking. its a storm i'll never forget with or without the video.

Every storm post. Every tornado post. They always come with the mandatory “Holy Shit “. I really thought we were going to get away with it this time. How ironic. In a 9.44 minute post, they were the only words spoken. Twice. 😁😁
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. One of my things on my to-do list is to passionately kiss in the rain, preferably a scenery such as the one in the video.
ah yes my favorite weather apart from cloudy
@grvolans kinda reminds you of the movie twister "goin' green. greenage"

@RunningBarefootFun24 I envy you :C I want to live somewhere where the sun shines little, and storms inhabit the area. :)
Buena toma de la tormenta..
WOW!!! that looks like a hurricane! except with now debri.
As soon as the windy cold air starts i think... run for cover ☔️
That storm sucked we lost power and and there was another one and we didn't get our power back until 10:15 pm
whoohoo! greenage! I love the thrill!
Most communities nowadays have gotten rid of their warning sirens.Shame too!If something goes on that the entire area needs to be aware of quickly, they have to hope that everyone id watching TV or listening to the radio....
I love ☔ secjin
