THUNDER ON THE MOUNTAIN part2

The finale to my NSW trip hunting red deer with Stew. More close encounters and this time it ends a little differently for one deer at least...

    I did have my mountain rifle here mate. Last trip I had my sauer 9.3 but passed up a few because they were too far away. Thinking I was going to be in a similar situation i packed this for extra legs. As it turned out my 9.3 would have been perfect in the thicker stuff. The up side of the 7mm is that it is very versatile. I just load up a softer round and it’s great up close too. 👍🏾

    Couple of things daz. Firstly could u explain a little more why u would pass on a certain deer and not shoot? What’s the laws in regards to tags. Do tags apply in aus? Or are they classed as feral animals? Also what happened with ur power steeering? Did the pump go? Cheers

  • @IntotheMountains

    @IntotheMountains

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey Ari, my car ended having a cv join seize hence the loss of steering to one side. In regards to passing up deer. The guys that hunt this area do a bit of herd management so they cull the undesirable stags and let the others go in the hope they make it to a mature age. Stew and I both have a few great red deer heads on the wall at home so we are really only looking for those mature animals that we’ve been passing up in past years. A few good ones got shot this year on neighbouring blocks so they are about. Regards to laws, the system in NSW is a bit different to where I’m from. They have a permit system but no tags or limits on what you can shoot. Unfortunately they have lost their game status up there. 👍🏾

    Hey Daz. Not sure why your reply didn’t come back to me, just stumbled on it today after wanting to message and say I can’t wait to see more videos when we all go back to some sort of normality here in aus. I really enjoy your videos especially the one from New Zealand. I saw a Stephen rinela video(meat eater) of him going to New Zealand and shooting in the mountains that European goat. I hope that’s also in ur bucket list, cheers and hope to see some more videos again soon,

    Great video love watching it. But you really need to piss that Safari sling off when your walking with someone as your point the rifle at him all the time.

  • @IntotheMountains

    @IntotheMountains

    3 жыл бұрын

    Cheers mate. It may look like the rifle is flanking stew but I can assure you it’s the camera angle. This stalker sling is adjusted way up so the rifle is skyward. The camera distorts it somewhat. We’ve been using these for years around people as do millions of military personnel. I don’t trust safety’s, my rifle is never loaded around people. It’s a good point you make and I also bring it up with a lot of hunters on how to use the horizontal carry safely. It can be done. Glad you enjoyed the rest of the content. 👍🏾

    @@IntotheMountains Not saying anything I would say if we met in person. You can sugar coat it any way you want. undulating ground will put you at some point, pointing the rifle at people walking with you. Its the unloaded rifle that kills. Ive had one of this slings before it was a fashion item, so I understand how they work. As long as you happy with what your doing. Just keep make videos as there's bugger all on tv these days 🤙

  • @IntotheMountains

    @IntotheMountains

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@deerhunter338mag I hear ya mate. We’ve had many conversations about it. I’m definitely not sugar coating anything and didn’t really want to announce it this way but this is not a safari sling. It’s actually part of the backpack. A new product in its prototype form. So sorry to burst the bubble but you haven’t used this before. At the end of the day we are all responsible for our own safety and actions. Everyone is welcome to their opinion. I’m not setting the ‘fashion’ for others nor do I tell others what they ‘need’ to do whilst going about their hunt. I’m just doing me, I’m aware that’s not for everyone and I sure aren’t going to try and please all everyone. 👍🏾

    Daz mate, not sure if you remember me. I went to Myoko Kogen on a school field perhaps back in 2010-2011. I can't remember exactly but if i check the photo's i'll figure that. But I'm Farris, one of the kiddos in Nick Klar's school trip over to Japan. Till this day i recall what had happened and the stuff you taught me. I even asked questions about 'how can i be like you' or something like that. Really was just about doing the things i love and i honestly felt i LOVE snowboarding. I haven't done it since that last visit. Obviously now I'm graduated from Uni, full on working but in the Crypto Realm for the past 3 years. But still mate, i NEVER knew you were creating content here. Absolutely brilliant to see. Thanks for being an inspiration to me since my early teens. When i saw your 3 lined tat on your forearm i knew that was my calling. As retarded as that sounds. I hope you're keeping well, healthy, and happy in life, along with your family. So much love mate, hope to meet in the near future

    Heya Farris! Great to hear from you buddy!! Of course I remember you guys. I also miss the Japanese mountains. I will get back there one day. Working and spending so much time in those mountains was a very special time for me. I took my now wife back there some time ago but that was my last trip over for work. Glad to hear your doing well and found something to be passionate about. Do you keep in contact with the others from your group? I have great memories of snow and mountain trips from my youth, now 40 years old I still remember them like yesterday 😊
