Thunder Mountain Speedway hosted the first ever Rod Carter Jr. Memorial race in honor of the long time racer and multi-track champion. The showcase event was a 30 lap feature contest. The race ran non-stop in 7 minutes and 15 seconds from the drop of the green flag to the checker. #15 Matt Shannon dominated the event leaving the field to battle for second. #7B Brian Smith moved into the runner-up slot in the closing laps but finished a distant second to Shannon who took home the top prize worth $3,521. Thunder Mountain Speedway is a third-mile clay oval located just south of Corbin, Kentucky.
