Thunder Mountain Speedway hosted the first-ever Rod Carter Jr. Memorial race in honor of the long-time racer and multi-track champion. The showcase event was a 30-lap feature contest. 25 drivers checked into battle for the top prize. Three heat races were held to determine the starting lineup for the main event. Victories were captured by #15 Matt Shannon, # 1 Chad Stapleton, and #70 Baily Cardwell. Shannon later came back and won the big prize in the feature race. Thunder Mountain Speedway is a third-mile clay oval located just south of Corbin, Kentucky.
