As has been pointed out by comments, Pest Infestation doesn't actually need targets. So, it's a token generator with upside. It's more like a B. I also gave Contagion Engine a B.

Don't forget there's technically a "donate" card in the format aka Shifting Grift for anybody who's not scared of Greed's Gambit. Its a stretch but a possibility none the less. Is exchanging control leaving the battlefield? Im going to say no but Im no judge (Rules clarification) "Your not going to be doing that in limited" 😂 Brother I gaurantee somebody will be doing that.

I'd expect Pest Infestation to be an A. The card is crazy good in vintage cube, even without targets. It's so easy to win a race with a bajillion 1/1s that gain you life on death

​@@MineRoyale.I think he and everybody else got that already. Its clearly an opionon based set review considering Sandstorm Salvager got a B+ when imo an easy A considering Blade spicer doesnt have an acitivated ability that also has to be awsnered before it gets more value.

It is crazy to see cards that have broken 60 or even 99 card formats before and be told "Yeah if you see this don't pick it up", however if I see some of the cards with a large price tag on them it'll be hard to pass them up, I might Crack and draft them anyways

Imp's mischief does have the surprise factor of being a mono black "counterspell". Nobody ever expects black to mess with their spells

In limited it's very often worth it if you go second to pass your turn and discard to handsize with reanimate if you have a big 6-7drop in hand.

20:11 Always nice to see an effect like countering a spell or forcing a player to discard cards obliged to get a high grade because of how strong it is.

I have a question is mindslaver + Esoteric Duplicator infinite turns ? When was the last time you could play an infinite cube in limited?

Yes it is, well, it's even better than infiinite turns since you also get infinite of your opponents turns. That said, it's impossible to pull off, the cards are too rare, you need to draft them both, play them both and not die before you can use them. The probabilities are probably in the millionths

Fling does work nicely with the Mercenary tokens tap buffs. So it's a little more powerful. Probably not enough to move the grade, but don't overlook it.

I’d imagine murder has to at least be better than it was in MKM. That set was absolutely infested with ward. That being said, I still agree with it being a C+ here edit- Also I think Pest Infestation is maindeckable. It’s an “up to” on the target, so the floor is 3 mana for 2 pests, and it scales. With targets to destroy it’s obviously incredible

I really love the art style they used on the prosperity sheet.

I don't think you actually need any targets for pest ifnestation because it targets up to x artifacts/enchantments. The way I view it the ability to destroy artifacts/enchantments is just upside because you're playing this just to make the tokens. It's still not a bomb or anything but 3 mana to make 2 tokens or mana to make 4 plus occasionally destroying something seems pretty solid, tbh I would give it maybe a B- in the maindeck. I might be a bit off on the rulings but my understanding is you don't need any targets to cast this.

Agreed. Bc no you dont need any targets at all. This card is always going to make your main deck if your running green its super flexiable even if your only hitting just one target its going to feel great especially if you have a commit a crime effect i think it deserves at least a C+ or B-

Tyrants scorn was the best non rare card in WAR according to 17lands it's often used to save your own bomb from removal (that set was full of those) in addition to the removal options it has. I think it's easily b+

I actually think pariah might be alright in a slower white deck if that's a thing. It can effecitvely give you a whole turn of protection from combat damage while also removing their guy. I really think it can buy you a lot of time if you're on the defense.

Splitting hairs, but I think Vaultborn Tyrant is an A+.

When playing "pest infestation", the wording makes it so that you don't have to kill anything, but you still get the pests. So I'd give it a higher grade, since it's 3 mana for 2 bodies, 5 mana for 4 bodies, 7 mana for 6 bodies and so on.

I know Merriment is a reprint, but what a retroactive flavour fail, only one of the three tokens are outlaws.

Shouldn't Leyline Binding be at least same rank as Mystical tether? Also, Grand Abolisher looks very valuable in Selesnya deck, where he allows you to safely mount and play your fight-based removal. I feel like it's in B range in these decks.

Wait ya why is it a b- lol its arguably way better since it's usually 4 mana since it on average is discounted by 2 starting at 6 since you won't be playing it in mono color and you won't have so many duals by turn 4 that it isn't discounted by that much. Kind of funny he said leyline is worse

​@Jack-uh2db ya, you're probably right for 1 more mana flash is incredible but being able to cast it a turn earlier for 3 even as a sorcery is way better didn't even think about that

It is pretty crazy in hindsight that thr opportunist was an uncommon in Mid with multiple sac decks, uncommon bomb in that set.

It's definitely hard to cast but if you're redirecting with Commander you fizzle their spell, redirect onto one of their creatures, and save your creature. It's kind of like a 3 for 3.

Watched the first draft on youtube - the guy was behind in life and creatures, played Archive Trap for free next turn played creature, which gave a Flashback. GG. It is not an F - it can win games alone

Fomori vault only requires a single artifact, like a treasure, to be an untapped land with upside of looting. At worst its just an untapped land that taps for colourless, I think you should include this in most 2 colour decks because of how free it is and looting at instant speed is useful.

yeah, 3 mana to loot it's not great but it's a land, so it doesn't hurt. Plus having 2 or 3 artifacts laying around might happen. I don't think it's good either but it should be a D/D+, not an F

You forgot to call out a grade for Contagion Engine - I guess it's either C or C+, but would be nice to have it.

That Pest Infestation grade is wiiiiild. Its a C+ without a single target and if you have even 1 target it jumps to B. If you have 2 targets it easily gets into the A range. I wonder if he didnt realize you can just make pests without a target.

Your probably going to have a game where an oppononet makes 4 or 6 pest possibly blowing up one of your enchantment removal peices and its going to feel pretty gross. Pest infestion is a solid C+ Around 56 artifacts and enchantnents included in the main set, big score, and crime bonus sheet.

@@Hornet-bz4xg The more you look at this set with all its bonus cards the more targets you find the ceiling is defiantly high especialy the longer the game goes on but your going to run into this weird scenerio where do I play this turn 3 bc its my only proactive play(at which point its below curve) or do you not play anything that turn and hold it. Its going to be worth the trouble of holding vs some decks but vs blue white for ex your just going to be racing flyers and creatures suited to block 1/1s and probably loosing the race at that point in the game. Its hard to grasp all the cards in this set without drafting it a few times but I can already think of a few cards where this card is going to feel mid for ex. There's a 3 mana uncommon instant that gives all your opponent creatures -1/-1. You gained 6 life but they just time warped for 3 mana...

Isn't Prismatic Vista just a strictly better version of all of the fetch lands?

If you're desperate maybe, but giving up a mana, a token and an excellent removal spell to ramp does not seem like a good idea

Punishment destroying all tokens for 2 mana seems like a great sideboard card in constructed

I'd say surgical extraction could be upgraded to a D because it's floor is a 0 mana spell for the 2 spells deck

Effects like fling and fell the mighty might be better than normal in this format due to the mercenary tokens making stat adjustments possible.

I feel like the Jitte is overrated. it has to actually make contact and doesnt give any sort of statboost upfront. kind of a win-harder card thats gonna be hard to pick in a aggro deck over just more creatures or removal or tricks.

It’s extremely trivial to get counters (do any sort of damage at all with the creature, even blocking) and once you do have counters the jitte becomes a nightmare in combat with those activated abilitities. If the counters were stored on the creature rather than the equipment i’d be lower but as is it looks very very efficient

yeah as said above I think you're missing that it' gets charges off any "combat damage" and not the more difficult "combat damage to an opponent/player"

Primal commands shuffle my graveyard into my library then tutor back my best creature..oh my sweet baby ray sauce the value also In a pinch if your capable of winning a game but your opponent just played an Oko or something crazy just top it and make them shuffle it back in. Ez. I give it a C+

Are you using Bluetooth headphones? This happens to me with a specific set of headphones on a specific computer which is odd. Haven’t found a fix yet.

49:29 not all artifacts and lands are cards; if you exile a Token with this does it even get its abilities? Very weird templating either way for such a new card not to specify "nontoken" - feels like a trap, though I doubt anyone falls for it even with a few "make a token copy of target artifact" cards in the format

If you exile a token, Territory Forge will have no additional abilities, because, as you said, a token is not a card, so there is no "exiled card". That said, it can still exile a problem token that's an artifact or land, but that's probably not the best use for it.

wow these sheets seem very hit or miss, like you're either getting a super bomb or a card that is (for limited at least) a stone cold dud. Kinda annoyed that this is what Play boosters have done to limited (made incredible power more luck-dependent) though I suppose one or two of these sheets would've been in Draft Boosters anyways
