    Karl do you race with vr as i got the psvr a month ago and can’t play racing games now unless it’s vr as 2D feels shite now. Only problem is that I’m limited to 2 games drive club vr and dirt rally. Gt sport is just demo in vr unfortunately. Would love to get a pc as they seems to be loads of titles supporting vr like assetto corsa canyon dlc free roam in vr 😍 just don’t know enough about pc atm like what graphics card ect. You’re need to run sim racing games smoothly and sounds like problems connecting psvr to pc so would have to buy a rift or something which is was more as I got my psvr off gumtree for £100 in excellent condition. my g29 feels great in vr so I’m happy with it for now just wanna step up to a pc now but don’t feel technical enough to know what I’m doing properly. Think I need to do some research. I don’t want to spend more than £300 on a second hand gaming pc if that’s even possible lol

    @@realtalk9195 I get too much motion sickness so very very rarely. A second hand VR capable PC is at least £700 and a Rift or Vive £200.... if you're lucky, prices are stupid right now.

    Karl Gosling I just found your channel today and really enjoy your reviews. Subscriber for sure here. I’m new to all this simulation stuff and still working on getting needed items. Haven’t decided between Thrustmaster or Logitech, leaning towards G29’s for price and reliability though I’ve heard t300 is the way to go.....who knows! I also want to play truck simulator and drift eventually as well as race.

    I've just upgraded from a g920 to fanatec v2.5 base, v3 pedals and formula v2 wheel. It is on another level to g920 and so happy I upgraded. All bought from ebay individually because of stock issues. It cost about £1200 total but I think I am set for a very long time now. The wheel had magnetic shifters that cost £120 already installed so I think I got a good deal for the wheel. I asked you for advice between CSL elite or v3 pedals and happy I went with your suggestion of v3.

I'm not playing to often racing games and also I don't have to much space for a racing rig. The TS-XW you showed at the start is part of their summer sale, and it is in stock. It's a great bargain at the moment! I just picked up a TS-PC Racer during Le Mans Virtual a few weeks ago when they had 24% off. Disappointingly it not working well! The TS-PC with the Ferrari 488 wheel doesn't come with pedals, its the same as the Open Wheel TS-PC. The TS-XW does indeed come with the T3PA Pedals. Great review though, very informative and straight to the point.

    Nice video again. I have had the basic t300rs with 2 pedal system. Not really worried about the 3 pedal and gearshift, just using the paddle shift at mo. Nothing has gone wrong and the 2 pedals seem fine. The tsxw I was looking at upgrading to and it comes with 3 pedal basic set, but I heard horror stories of the spring coming out. 🙄. They never mentioned that you can use basic 2 pedals on the newer tsxw, but I wondered if it would work, incase the newer 3 pedals busted. I really don't know whether to bother🤔. If they fitted on the new one, it wouldn't bother me. The other issue I have, is I thought about upgrading the wheel, but again hear horror stories of alcantara wear. My wheel is in like new condition after years and again.....you wonder is it worth the hassle 🥺👌

    The T-GT pedals are probably the best version of the T3PA as they have (cast aloominun!) arm's instead of the usual plastic ones. I use a SimRacingSolutions load cell with mine, excellent, can't recommend it enough. Fanatec products are all very well made, over engineered perhaps. I agree there's not much between either a TX or T300 and CSL and from the little experience I've had on the CSW of TS-PC seemed roughly the same, neither stood out at being very different anyway. (Don't know about pedals, never used the Fanatec's) I was surprised that the TX wheelbase is actually heavier than the CSL, and even if the Fanatec has better presentation and fancier materials, in use I prefer the feel of the TX, not sure why, just feels more "natural" to me. I'm looking to get a TS-PC, as there's no denying it has a better build quality, and I wouldn't have to run it at 100% hopefully! Great vid as per usual, thanks.

I have T300RS and it can get annoyingly loud when the fans kick in and i've read that TS-PC racer and even the fanatec stuff like elite or clubsport etc have similar issue that after like 30-60 minutes of playing the fans start up and get very loud. What are your experience with this? @Karl Gosling Good view and video. I was brought into sim racing by a friend of mine who has a fanatec csw v2 and all other goodies. I tried sim racing on his wheel and ordered me a thrustmaster ts-xw around September for 650 €. I should say after driving with fanatec, it looked like a toy to me, so I refunded it and got me a fanatec csw v2.5 with csl wheel and csl pedale. But fanatec is like a black hole, it sucks in your wallet. It's January and I have fanatec shifter, fanatec clubsport v3 pedals and even turned my simple wheel stand to a full cockpit. I don't know if it's positive or negative point of view, but I am glad that I entered sim racing. IMO, it doesn't matter what equipment you have, just get one which matches your budget and start the race. It's REALLY fun.

    Hi Karl, would be great if you could review your Clubsport V3's The "rumble" motors on the brake & gas pedal, do you use them? Do they help? I'm using T3PA's with a load cell right now and am debating whether to go with one of the Fanatec sets. I like a very firm pedal with minimal throw, but not crazy heavy. I have serious health issues and have concerns over the force required to operate the Fanatec or T-LCM load cells. Mine is only 20 kgs and I find that's plenty. Are the Fanatec's really that much harder to depress? Thanks.

I mostly race on tarmac in rF2 and it makes a massive difference, keeping the FFB from clipping at higher strength settings and allowing more details thru. I know you're a rally guy but it might be worth a look (I found it also allows the wheels to turn faster)

    I leave my TM control panel settings pretty much stock bar putting the overall strength to 100% (this doesn't set it to 100% it just makes all the power/torque available should you want it, which you do! lol), everything else I tune on a game per game basis.

  • @Steve30x
    @Steve30x3 жыл бұрын

    Even though the T-GT has more torque and feels slightly better than the T300 I couldn't justify paying €799 for it when I can get the T300 base for €279. I already have a 599 Evo wheel rim for my TX and I'm using my CSR Elite pedals with basher boards adapter to connect to my wheel base. I'm using the pedals connected to the Thrustmaster because I also do some console racing. Another reason I can't justify buying the T-GT is I don't play enough racing games and the transducer on the back of it only works with GT sport. In my opinion if they brought the T-GT wheel base on its own without the transducer and sold it for €350 - €400 I would be tempted though.

The G29 is pretty good but this is on another level for control and feel. Pity the pedals are rubbish, they'll have to do until the load cells turn up. Anyone looking to move 'up' highly recommend if you can get your hands on a TS. Here in Australia they are thin on the ground with inflated prices. Bloody Awesome review Karl...Your the best ... I just bought this last week and upgraded from a G920 ...The difference is just Totally Amazing how much better the Ts pc is in every way but the forces just leave you gobsmacked from a G920 to this wheel.. Question though do you leave it powered all the time and plugged into USB... I notice if you do it has a slight fan noise constantly on inside that never turns off and I'm worried that would lower the life of it...So I have been unplugging it when not using????? What do you do ???????

The cooling fan on mine has been rather noisy since ive had it, very noticable as it starts up as soon as I start driving and sounds a bit like a hard drive rumbling away sorting out files. I feel as much money as they've made due to covid stock should be the easiest thing to maintain. Also I heard a massive amount of clicking from what I feel is the wheel in this video. That or it's the fanatec shifter. Something Is making an uncomfortably clicky sound and personally if I'm spending that kind of money I need it to not be clicky at all. Sounds like direct drive is my only option for that. Not sure why this technology is as expensive as it is though. It's like comically more expensive then normal car parts and I'm still unsure why

    Your info on Fanatec stuff is mostly wrong. The csl base is £350/399 depending on which compatability you want, and is the cheapest belt drive, the clubsport 2.5 is their premium belt drive, which is £550. Then it moves to direct drives. The csl F1 bundle with pedals is only £50 than the TSXW is direct from Thrustmaster.

    @@KarlGosling obviously you've misread it. As the csl is not £550, it's 350, or 399 if you get the PS4 version. The clubsport is £550. So a csl elite with a wheel and pedals can be had for a little more than the Thrustmaster. As I should also point out the 488 does not come with pedals. The TMX is an entry level wheel at half the price, more comparable to a G920.
