Twitch generation 40k - I never realised how good a descriptor for 40k that was.

"Jason" sounds like the Twitter types that spam the 'You will not be missed' picture around.

I do drugs and warhammer. Nothing better than painting my minis stoned (legal in my country btw) with a stoned friend painting minis talking over discord. Most discussed topics: „Fuck! I knocked my paint over again“ „This fuckers are so tiny bro“ „Why is the paint drying so fast, give me a break.“

I had a similar gym story but with anime. It was great knowing people into the same stuff but they were filthy dub-watchers so I knew we'd never truly be friends.

35 here too. Life has become pretty good, got most of my shit together, work is good, girlfriend good, money good....hair not so good.... But yeah I now have a carer and I know I can manage curveballs and take hits.

I have a similar story as gym guy, when I was in the navy a Chief coxswain and I would hide our models in his car behind the naval police station it was the safest place on the base.

I just wanna say that the advice you gave about age really.. touched and helped me, I'm 27 and it really gave me hope , thank you.

I needed the talk about finding your shit in your mid 30s, I wasted my life till about a year ago and now at 31 I'm in gender transition and starting to thrash back against life and employment. Good to know I am not alone and a complete fuck up!

Good man for advocating for trades. This drive for degree's has left Ireland bereft of any trades people. We dont have the people to build the house these degrees achievers are screaming for, resulting in a brain drain in this country.

My father was the same, Hercules - a hero. He never got to make it to old age, died from complications of a terrible car accident. I wonder sometimes what it would have been like for him to get older, as he always seemed larger than life. I don't know. Life is hard.

I feel for ya North. I was really close with my grandpa and earlier this year he fell and suffered brain damage. He was mentally there but couldn’t form words or do any movements that required any sort of finesse. Losing his mind was his greatest fear and it was heartbreaking to see that fear come true. He was in the hospital for a month, doing therapy. He begged for death every day. After the month, we put him on hospice and had to sedate him with morphine and withhold food and water. We are in a place where euthanasia is not legal. It was so horrible to witness my greatest hero debased into a bumbling baby, suffering through each day until his end. I am really struggling with accepting this, it’s been emotionally devastating. I feel as though my emotions are dampened… anyways, I hope it all works out for your grandpa, and that the suffering is minimal. Your videos have helped a lot during this time.

I don't understand people learning multiple editions. I try to learn one current edition and before I can they change the edition so I gave up.

The outflow of players is likely more then just from two back to back bad editions, but also from GW actively cultivating the most toxic parts of the TTWG community, coupled with explicitly telling most of their customers to get lost with no ambiguity about that, in tandem with continual above inflation level price rises on prosucts that continue to become progressively cheaper to produce during a global economic depression. GW couldn't destroy 40K faster if they tried.

It’s actually strange but on paper 40k 10th edition should be great less stratagems while modeling you don’t overthink equipment because there is no choice anymore but for some reason i don’t care. Maybe less choice less options is the reason. Strange.

You’re wrong on one thing north, the need for trades is right now, not in any amount of years. If you’re skilled and your interest lies with working with your hands, you can earn a very good living by learning a trade.

Maybe it's not the games that keep women from being more involved in the hobby, it's all the dudes constantly drawing attention to the fact that they are women. Stop making an issue of gender and they'll feel comfortable enough to participate more fully. And if they're not interested, let em be! Don't make people feel bad that they're genuinely more interested in something else.

When it comes to 10e my issues arent so much strategems and whatnot, its the flavor being sucked from the game. Its just lame
