I completely agree. Throwing that left arm to wrap your face has saved me from some really hard counter shots.

I always wondered that, throwing a low kick with full guard is very uncomfortable. Guarding the face with your left is simple and effective!

@@_hi_pwr Yeah...it kinda guards you, at least decently enough, against any snap counters that your opponent may throw at you, right at the moment when you're executing that low roundhouse kick to the opponent's outer thigh.

My muay thai trainer has a slightly different approach...he lefts his hand towards the opponent's face, like from his face towards the opponent's face, and brings the other hand to cover the face in the same time, and the kick is still strongly delivered

I teach it this way as well as by chopping the arm outwards as a frame between you and your opponent. Unpredictability is essential.

Best way to throw a kick is too point at the face to protect yourself, faint and helps with hip rotation

I disagree it’s a good way but I prefer dipping the head to the left while keeping a high guard on the left and dropping the right hand If left in the pocket after I duck dig left hook to the liver and exit with a right straight to the body usually sometimes the head while stepping back to reset/ avoid the counter from sitting in the pocket too long lol

Best way to do a low kick is to throw it straight instead of Thai! Neither kick will be likely to end a fight, but if one does it’s the straight. I don’t care what you saw on tv. I’ve been hit in the thighs it hurts and hurts bad worst pain outside of the groin etc. but … it doesn’t end the fight at all! Myth!

@@yudh151 Thai has some good combos and experienced fighters - but all the good experienced Thai fighters are so awesome but they are not cookie cutter - typical - stereotype Thai fighters they are good fighters and good fighters use everything. I’m not a fan of that weak low kick. It hurts. But just ignore it and get your own moves off.
