Dude I hate cutting myself on thin metal ribs. So hard to heal when you keel working in clay also.

Totally hooked on your vids! I wish I had the tools needed for pottery. I have a massive clay pit in my yard and am dying to get in to this so bad! I've tried my hand at sculpting and it was a breeze. But this is far more challenging and expensive so that's really discouraging. 😔

thank you for showing your "mistake", a lot of the pottery video's show mostly people making "perfect pots" one after the other, not the ones that don't work out, makes me feel better as a beginner that i am not the only one who throws a wobbly, wonky, do over clumps of clay

In using square bats have you ever injured yourself with them. To me it looks like you could catch your finger on a corner while its spinning and hurt yourself, even the bottom of your hand? Just wondering!

What kinda bats are those square one I have to either make some or buy a ton for the studio have you had any warping issues I have had some that did

Which clay body you use? How they dont get broke on wheel when so thin

How do you know that the glazes you use are food safe and won’t leach harmful stuff into your coffee, etc?

Do you cut the pots off the bat after?

I am VERY new to pottery, can you tell me why you don't wire your pieces off of the bat? I am hoping to one day be a talented as you. Thanks for the great videos.

I am a new potter. I started the way you are. Watching a ton of videos. Bought a wheel set it up. Bought a used kiln and got an electrician to set up electricity. I will be running my first glaze load today. Only reason I habe had no actual lessons is because of covid and no places within several hrs to get them

Hey Jon I need some help. I have been following you on KZread for quite a while and just a few months ago I was finally able to get the wheel I bought for myself over spring break before all this covid crap shut down the state of Kansas lol. I’m currently in quarantine because my parents contracted the virus so I’ve had a lot of time to play in the studio my husband built for me. I’m not doing too bad but I seem to be tearing off a lot of clay when I go to do pulls. I was wondering if you could help me with some trouble shooting advice? I have thousands of question,, but the first one is have you ever considered,, teaching ,, a dedicated student ( this is one of the top 10 on my bucket list ) .... how much would it cost for you to teach ?

Only if you use rough clay. And even then only a finger or two.
