The break of the second rod was just the beginning of a great day of surf fishing Lawson!!! Got to love it man🤙🏽💯

Not at 10 bucks per box I'm not. That rod looks like some jackhole pinched it with a pliers. Crushed from the side.

Since you dropped your sponsors you seem more relaxed on the water. Your videos are more realistic with all the ups and downs to fishing. Good stuff. Keep it up.
Jacks are the shit! They fight like warriors and so fun to catch. Pound for pound prob the hardest fighting saltwater fish out there!😎
I had a brand new rod snap in the middle just like that during a moderate cast. I took pictures and sent it to the company and they eventually sent me a new one. Keep on truckin on 🤙🏻

I had one break on a fish last month, granted it was a GT but still it shouldn't have happened using PE4 line on a rod designed and marketed to catch giant european wels catfish (they can grow upwards of 200 lbs..) So thanks for the advice I'm going to send them an e-mail
been freshwater fishing my whole life and about to take the plunge into saltwater next year . thanks for the inspiration. cant wait!
I like to check out the rods with an OCD mentality at shops before purchasing, looking for things like minor marks or scratches that probably been banged around from shipping. I also bring a Q tip to wipe around the inner guides to check for chips in the inserts. Just a little tip

i would definitely do that thanks for the tip

yeah, thanks for the Q tip! haha! that was bad
Time to go rod shopping! LOL. Always carry a back up in the truck man.
Thanks to you and Justin, placed my first order for NLBN. Georgia coast fishing, but I haven’t been home (central Florida) in a while. Can’t wait to see how the Gheenoe trailer handles a 1000 mile round trip. (LOL! Two spare wheels/tires, backup hub and bearings)
Found your channel from one of the Googans a long time ago (I think Jon B). Seeing you fish Florida inshore and the surf has gotten me out to the coast way more and I'm absolutely loving it. Always love my Largemouth but some of those game fish in salt are absolutely a wicked experience to hook into. Thanks for all you've done with the channel, bud!
Keep it up my dawg, I hope to catch a big tarpon this year.
I heard that Trailer Park Boys reference! 'Two Birds Stoned at Once' HA
great video. been one of my favorite tubers for years now
Love the vids. Those are some violent casts and they take a toll on the rods.
That ending 👌🏼 nicely done
I love your videos! Stay safe
I have never seen you snap a rod in the last 3 years crazy.biggest Florida fan David Kilroy
i did that 3 times before i figured out the lure weight was 3/4 oz to heavy for the action of the rod. I was trying to cast plugs with a 10 surf rod
OMG NOT ANOTHER ROD
your vids are incredible man, can’t believe how far you’ve come, keep it up!
point your rod to the right [4 o'clock] or to the left [8 o'clock] instead of up when fighting a jack. You can make them change direction and zig zag them in. I caught a jack 34.4 lbs off the wall at Good Sam on 8 lb Ande Tournament in just 20 minutes. His initial run was 300 yards.
You make it look so easy; I'm a freshwater fisherman and saltwater leaves me dumbfounded. And I'm on the treasure coast 🤣

I've done lots of freshwater and saltwater. Nothing fights like an open saltwater fish. Albacore, yellow fin, yellowtail, even barracudas. A pelagic fish swims across the oceans. Tuna will circum-navigate the Atlantic or Pacific. No fat, out of shape tunas. No bass or trout will tear off 800 yards of line from a 70 wide reel at full drag.
Highly recommend TFO rods. They are tanks. Love the vids brother, always awesome.
Another one?! Noooo… wait, what?! I honestly was waiting for some new spoon lure and it’s cereal lol nice plot twist!
The rod was afraid of big fish and broke before suffer, great video, big hugs from Brazil!!
Ordered some cereal. This better be good!
what a start in the beginning😭
Great video 💪🏽
Beautiful fish
Great video and hope you have a "rod fund" !!
yes I'm very curious about MHX blanks. The problem with SW Florida is there are no good tackle stores within a 2 hour drive so you can't see and touch before you buy. Most shops around here cater to the masses of inexperianced people who will fish with whatever, not the discerning angler.

I am also interested in them myself!
I think you have the right rod this time buddy 👍👍👍.....
I thought magic spoon was going to be a new metal lure!
About time we see you throw a NLBN
Can’t see anything you did wrong with that rod! Maybe there was a hairline fracture in the blank or something… crazy. Awesome Jack though - they are such beasts! Never gets old
I’m a proud law dog
Defective blank or they didn't find the spine correctly on the blank would be my guess. Only rods I've ever broken were because of defective blanks.
Can’t say enough good things about the guys at Juno bait and their custom rods. Currently have two and am getting another one, i also live on the other side of the state if that says anything lol
Dude the same thing happened to me a couple months ago in Jupiter, tsunami carbon shield 2
I wish you spoke more of the details of broken rod? Make, Age, weight class, where you got it etc..
That’s some expensive breakfast cereal lol
Love the content brother but I wanted to ask if you tie your leader together with swivel or a specific knot? I fish the Texas Coast and am asking for my jetty set up.
Ever thought of trying the bull bay custom rods made right down the road in Lakeland??? I love my mine. Just wondering Lawson🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Wow! Now I understand the question/comments in the Twitch stream.... Another one? Don't make no sense at all. At least ya got a replacement (and made use of that stone). Nice work there Lawdawgie, have a good one! Waitin' on da next one. Be Safe
Hate it when a rod breaks and you have to buy another..BUT also love it when a rod breaks and you have to buy a new one Lmao
These rod snaps are baffling me now, haha. Hope your luck turns around. Watch the new Theo Von special, that'll cheer ya up.
Get ugly sticks they never break 💪🏽
The rods were most likely damaged previously… could have been anything from a jig hitting the blank during a cast, the rod falling, shipping, etc. The weak spot eventually fails. Oh well, its an excuse to buy new gear :-)

I worked in a tackle shop for years and a jig wacking the blank is usually the culprit. It causes a crack that you don’t see and eventually fails during a heavy cast.
Lawson, your rod snapped because carbon rod blanks are brittle and a tiny little chip can cause a rod to snap like that. Also, every blank has an axis that it bends at, so if your cast is not in line with that axis you will exert extra stress on those spots with small chips. If you lay your rods on a tailgate, wrap them with a protective covering. Fiberglass rods do not have this problem - but you exchange that for less sensitivity.
It's that dad strength bro
My heart broke when I heard that rod snap 😬
can't believe you broke another one!
You swing that shit like If there’s no tomorrow
My biggest fish is a 70lb 50 inch jack and they fight exactly how they fought against you. For me at least they are hard fish to reel in. He was a top dog im telling you, I was only 9 years old and my dad and I reeled that in and it was bigger then me!
Where was it manufactured?
Common lawdog you know Chelsea Told you not to go fishing this morning 😅
"slobbered on the toppered" ive heard it all
Something rubbing on them during transport? Are they breaking in the same area?
Maybe you should look at the specs on the side of the rod. You’re throwing a jig head that’s what 2-3 ounces? Plus the shad itself which is atleast an ounce itself?
Just a thought, but maybe something about your storage setup that's weakening the rods?
Man what reel are you using?
Maybe the new heavy reel is why
Yeewww
what swimbait is that?
Cool video. Wat kinda rod is that. They use cheap material
Juno Bait is where it’s at
What’s the surf rod you got?
Pound that beach my dawg!!!!
how much was the junobait rod
Smiled ear to ear when I saw your upload in my feed hopefully someday my subs will have the same reaction 😂
Just make sure when you cast the rod doesn’t snap in the middle
Cie cie paman tongkat pancing baru..😁😎🖒
diawa makes a good 9 foot surf rod
That Magic Spoon is the real deal. Fruity and Frosted are the two best. I have it with OAT-LY Oat milk and it’s a 0 guilt snack. My only beef is how expensive it is but I’ll use your code now!
What type of line you got on your saltist
Can anyone tell me what bait that is he is using? Been looking for new artificial for surf fishing.

NLBN No Live Bait Needed
I have broke many rods on year and they say high stinking heavy baits like hard snap over ones head can break your rods
I literally broke my surf rod the same exact way beach fishing the other day
What glasses do you use
Bro you have to start praising the fish gods or something cause. Back to back broken rods ouch !! Great video as always brother tight lines.
2 broken rods in 2 days! That calls for a spare rod on every trip my friend! The second one shattered when it broke, which means to me a manufacturing defect.
WHAT IS UP MAH DAAAWWWGS
Still warm out there ?
Oh and I do enjoy these videos. But will you PLEASE put some of these fish on a scale for the camera. because i'm not convinced of the weights being quoted by eyeball. It used to be that any unweighed fish wasn't lagit. i'm just sayn
A broken rod and 2 jacks….what a video
When it rains it pours. Probably just bad luck. Do you have a dog that could be biting on the rods?
GET THE NOMAD OFFSHORE SPIN 8’3” !!!!!
Bummer about the rods. It could have been how you are transporting the rods in your truck. I broke a rod because I put it through the rear sliding window and drove down a gravel road. It broke on the first cast right where it was resting on the window frame.
I think your line to line knot got stuck in a guide on the rod break herd the noise then take the momentum and weight of the top water prolly led to that event.. which tbh is still totally un acceptable 😂I felt your pain on that one being that its a surf rod idk if its technically a casting rod which is why it has bigger guides easier to get tangles on them casting that is prolly why it snapped being a lot longer then our regular 7' -7-6 8' inshore stuff
Did someone step on your rods and crack them? Were they both stored together?
The way you are whipping that rod is what broke it. Use more of a lever cast instead of that hard whipping motion. Looks like you tried to break that rod!
I wonder if both those rods got crushed by something at the same time.
Are you on east coast
15 pound mono ? or 50 pound ?
Lol
Get star rods can’t bet
I’d send it back
The way you whipping the Walmart rod ain’t workin lol
I run a 100 dollar bass pro surf rod and it’s lasted years despite my abuse
Where are you fishing in this video?
Watch the video and look at the rod how it does when you cast
