Through the Seasons | Spring Carp Fishing | Oz Holness | 4K

Спорт

Spring is the favourite season for many an angler, but it can be a bit unpredictable and as such there’s never a guarantee you will catch. To help improve your chances we tasked Oz Holness with a trip to Reading & District Angling Association’s Junction 12 Lake in the midst of a tricky weather period. Following the popular Through the Seasons formula, Oz discusses his go to tactics for spring carp fishing, which include boilie fishing and bright hookbaits. Of course, despite the conditions, Oz pulled it out of the bag and landed several great carp to over 30lb during his trip. Whether you want to absorb knowledge like a sponge or just enjoy a fellow angler going about his business, this film has everything covered.

A real ambassador for carp fishing, you have caught some really special carp during your fishing journey and I get the impression every one means as much as the first. The buzz you have for carp angling is infectious. May you keep that passion and thankyou for passing it on.

Great film Ozzy boy. I'm a carp angler from America. Most of my peers don't carp fish. In fact in America it's typically regarded as a trash fish, and that's fine by me! There's little fishing pressure on carp, and their size and population are huge as a result. The only draw back is I don't know a single other person who carp fishes, and it's hard for me to find information on carp fishing. I end up spending all day watching British carp anglers like yourself! Lucky angling to you mate.

@@Itwasntalieitwastrueinmymind also just look for new waters. Where I grew up fishing the carp never grew over fifteen pounds. Where I fish now in southern Ohio the record carp out of my creek was 50 inches long and forty pounds. There's carp flop out of the creek that look like coffee tables. You gotta go to where the fish are. I'm lucky that my spot is under the radar. Nobody fishes my spot I'm very thankful that it's remained a local secret for this long

@@Itwasntalieitwastrueinmymind you do have your points on there being no carp venues or manicured populations like they have in Europe, but to discount the potential of unrestricted natural selection seems silly to me. There's gotta be American monsters out there that are untapped. There might not be 100 pounders in my state. But I don't doubt there's some 60 and 70 pounders swimming around. I want be the first guy in my state to break 50 pounds. In Europe theres decades of carp records, over here theyre still being set. It's anglers like us who appreciate the species that can begin to emulate what we see overseas. Its not crazy to think with enough money and love behind it some folks here can't organize some good American carp fisheries. It just takes some of us that are passionate about it. "Trash fish" (I hate that term) have become more popular in America than they've ever been. More people are fishing for catfish, drum and carp than ever before. Every carp angler I've ever met started with catching one by accident, once people find out how fun they are too catch they just can't stop
