Do you have a video showing the connections in the motor head. I have a Newport Vessels 46lb thrust motor and I’m hoping to do the same type of configuration.

This won't work with a standard trolling motor. It only works with a brushless motor.

I don't have a post but you can find tons of in depth info on google. getting a basic understanding will help.

Which one of the two pots units would i need to convert from a minn kota turbo 65, 5 speed, tiller controlled speed switch to this lever set up your showing. My speed switch has physical damage beyond repairing - why im looking at a diy switch solution. Any advice helpful. Your videos are informative.

Thanks! This controller is designed for use with brushless trolling motors or ESCs. A 3 pin pot will not work on a standard trolling motor like yours.

Thought I'd ask that question-because on Amazon reviews, people are complaining that the "controller" they brought, for their Minn Kota is burning up, or exploding - they should of watched your video here! Hi when you wire the 10k pot does the center lead of the pot go to the signal lead of the servo wire coming from the esc? Thx

Yes, the center lead of the pot is the signal.

Great info sir! I recently got the same one but wanted to know if you knew a way so that neutral detent can be all the way back as full stop as I have a reverse switch on my control box? I just want it be like a normal throttle with the 180 degrees of travel starting at zero, middle 50% and full is WOT. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm not a technical wizard but was an electrician for 20+ years so I get the jist. Thanks!

You would have to adjust the handle the same way I did to find the center. Find the "0" point of the pot, remove it, and pull the handle all the way back, put the pot back in. I think that will work.

0:26 - the lever does NOT have a 280° angle of movement - movement was less than 90°? (the gear on the pot may rotate more)

Ia there any way to add a throttle like this to the endura max that has a built in PWM? maybe extend some wires to mount one next to a kayak seat?

The Endura Max PWM is epoxied into the base of the head casing. You would need to extend the wires and relocate the head or build a new box.

I’ve tried a couple different setups and currently I’ve had this one on a couple months and man is this thing cheap and flimsy. The handle cracked about the second trip out and super glue has held it together. Besides buying a Newport throttle is there an option with the slide throttle that is durable (I’m talking just standard usage, no abuse)? It would be nice if someone would come up with a trolling motor pedal style foot controller for a yaks as my many military injuries have caught up with me. Thanks.

This won't work with a standard brushed TM with or without a PWM.

I would like to build a concept in which the controller consists of a kill, fwd/rev sw and pot for motor speed. How do I communicate with the (brushless) ESC for the function of an added fwd/rev? I need the switch function for direction of travel so I can interrupt the rev mode long enough to active an actuator for my motor position lock. I fish rivers so I need my position lock to default as free travel in FWD. but need to lock motor travel for REV. (obviously) without the silly cords to do so!

You can use a wireless joystick ESC controller.

@@fishntools If you have a wired controller, you could trigger the kill switch or just add an on/off switch.

This controller wouldn’t be voltage specific would it? As in the same one could be used for 12, 24, or 36 volts?

They would work for each voltage. The V supplied to the pot is determined by the motor input V.

@@Aksmaniyak thanks for the quick reply. I’m planning on building two - one for my friend’s 12v 65# and later I hope to get a 24v 110# for myself. I’m already running a 24v xi3. The hold up has been trying to decide between their two models (with & without gear box). I have tried repeatedly to get more information from Haswing with zero success.

@@Aksmaniyak I had great customer support with a Haswing bow mount when a control board went out (after years of service). Very helpful people on that end. It’s with product information and sales where I have hit a wall. Opposite of the usual with companies.

has anyone fig out a way to have a wireless potentiometer? would be huge to be able to control the throttle wireless, then one could use a big servo to control the steering

That is due to the Haswing electronics. I don't fully understand it but the 2 guys I mentioned in the narrative have an understanding of it.

Id love to have this, instead of the nob, on a PWM, having a throttle leaver, on my yak, would look, and be, so cool.

It would depend on the PWM and potentiometer.

Why bother with a wire gland? That enclosure is going to become a bathtub.

I suppose if you drop it in the water. The gland nut also holds the wires in place.

@@fishntools It depends how you mount it. You can mount it at an angle and add a drain hole. You can add a rubber sheath under the bezel with a slit to help waterproof it like in vehicles. You can remove it after use and turn it upside down and drain any water. It is only a pot and wires inside which sit above the bottom of the box. Could it fail? Sure, just like any electronics.

The pod doesn't have a center detent outside of the head unit.
