    Esto se ve difícil para Novak, mermado físicamente, un Dimitrov casi sin desgaste, y es un jugador que te hace jugar muchísimo con el slice, es muy difícil, ojalá puedas ganar Nole! Todas las fuerzas para ti!

    Can he put an end to his Monte Carlo slump? Hasnt been past the quarters since 2015 when he won the title. Losses to Vesely 2016, Goffin 2017, Thiem 2018, Medvedev 2019, Evans 2021 and Davidovich Fokina 2022. Thiem was the least surprising, 2018 Djoko was still recovering from the elbow problems and Thiem was at his best on the clay, in the 2017-18 clay seasons Thiem was the only one to beat Rafa on the surface. The others are downright shockers. Vesely, Evans, Fokina???? No way would Novak lose those. Even Goffin 2017 Novak was up a break in the 3rd. And nobody would expect Medvedev to beat a GOAT on clay. I think he will end that slump this year though. He's looking really good. Last year was tough, fresh off the AO saga but none of that drama this year. I think Novak can win the calendar slam this year. He's set up better and the pressure of the Olympics is not there like it was in 2021.

    @@james-vx7nv I think so too. Since Rafa will be 37 in may when Rolland Garros takes place and got injury problems. US Open is just not a lucky tournament for Nole let's say but I think this year he can do it. He will win at least 2 GS this year in my opinion. And beat 400 weeks at no. 1 . And should easily surpass 40 Masters titles this year.

  • @james-vx7nv

    @james-vx7nv

    @@piotrwolski4526 No question he will reach 40 masters this year despite missing the first two (USA vax mandate). I also think missing the sunshine double may turn out to be a blessing in disguise in terms of managing his schedule (no matter how controversial you think the vax law is), hes 35 and if he wants to continue dominating like this, he cannot play every event. If he reaches the Madrid final (whether he's champ or runner up) and some of his matches turn out to be long and physically taxing matches like the Alcaraz semifinal 2022, it might be a good idea for him to skip Rome to physically recover for FO. He really has a shot at winning all 4 this year. Given the last 5 months I do sadly think Nadal's FO dominance will finally end this year. He's 36, will turn 37 during FO, and the last 5 months hes won like 2 out of 9 matches. He's 11-0 this year. Ended 2022 with 18-1 and 35-3. He's won 29 of his last 30 matches, 46 of his last 49. And showing no signs of slowing down. His form in week 2 of this AO has been terrifying honestly. IMO he's set up very well to win the calendar slam this year [no chance the US vax law lasts til September].

    @@patricksweeney5308 It's a typical and easily demonstrably wrong excuse to say that Federer stopped winning against Djokovic because 'he got in his thirties', that is in fact from 2011. If you take away Federer's results against Djokovic, his result would have barely changed from his "peak", when he's injury free. Take Wimbledon 2015 to Australian Open 2016 for example, Federer was DESTROYING everyone else, without Djokovic he could have won 3 GS in a row by barely dropping 2 or 3 sets the whole way. That's as good a performance as he ever did. The one player for which the result DID change dramatically from 2011 forward is Djokovic. There's a DRAMATICAL statistical change to his results, and not just against Federer in that case, against everyone, his level DID demonstrably rise. So no it's not that Federer was "good enough" until he got in his 30s, it's that before that he faced an immature Djokovic who was nothing close to what he would become.

    @@patricksweeney5308 And also in the case of Murray, you're basing yourself on 2 matches only that happened in a 1 year interval, which wasn't Djokovic's best at all. Hardly solid statistical ground enough to conclude he has the upper hand there. You could have easily concluded the same thing about Federer if you looked at their first match only, incidentally in 2012 which is also the year of one of Djokovic's losses to Murray. But look what happened from 2014 on...

    Almost as if Tennis TV is trying to remind us Grigor has a chance. Great player but chokes under pressure and lets his opponents get into his head. Couldn't beat a heavily injured lucky loser [Kozlov], so doesnt seem fathomable that he can beat the greatest ever AO player at AO. That shot at 5:24 is exactly why Grigor has no shot. Novak is way too good for anyone right now. Hoping Grigor can at least keep it close and maybe win a set.
