Tamaiti Williams is one of the most influential players in the last few minutes, perhaps the key player of this section. Shutting down Bundee and putting in some serious work If you watch the games Tamaiti has played, his impact is palpable. His commitment to tackling is probably the most unspoken about things on the all blacks arsenal, which is the sting in the defence. His tackle are comparable to a grid iron front row player flying off the line head first into attackers. He hides on the sides of the rucks like an assassin and players that ever get a hit from him, always second guess themselves when approaching him again. He is exceptional and lifts the team with each hit. His work rate has been improving also. Observe the last few minutes of the win against Ireland, when he made a few tackles in a row. Phenomenal stuff. This guy has a mortgage on that props jersey and he scrummages very well. I’m excited to see his running and passing game develop too. Exceptional player. I would start him against SA. If you watch the games Tamaiti has played, his impact is palpable. He puts that tingle down the spine of attackers, that he’s gonna hit and hit hard. Not yet at the level of the legend of the late Jerry Colins RIP, yet he’s heading that way. His power of defence is under rated as he does it from a stationary position, falling forward into a crouch and then dives forwards and upwards. It’s immense. Look at his tackle on McCarthy in the 79th min and 35th second of the game. Man. And McCarthy is not a small man but gets his chopped down like a match stick by Tamaiti. His work rate in the last few minutes. Mammoth work rate: Reaching and grabbing the shoe laces of Ringrose to make sure he fell at the 78th and 4th second mark. Chopping down another Irish attackers legs in the 78th minute and 30th second. Almost pushing over Irish ruck attacker over the ball at the 79th minute and 8th second. Massive Tackle on Bundee Aki in the 79th minute and 28 second mark. His subsequent massive tackle, two in a row, chopping out the legs of McCarthy, diving at him, after putting in a big hit at the 79th min and 35 second mark. Another massive tackle on Bundee at the 81st min and 40 second mark.

Now in this NZ World Cup has been evolving and returning to what was before a fighting team, without fear of anything and always disciplined when it comes to defending, Now that this victory is a starting point to see the old All Blacks, those who always appeared on the field commanded a lot of respect 🎉🎉❤❤❤

This whole defensive effort was started, and driven, by the little general Aaron Smith. Those last 3 minutes of this match will go down in history as a masterclass of management in rugby. Time management, roster management, substitution management and defensive management. At 5:02 when Tadhg Beirne catches the pass is when you know that Ireland has run out of ideas and the All Blacks have run them down to a standstill _without possession of the ball_

Interesting, it seems to me that many Irish (players&fans) thought this game was already in their pocket beforehand. (for example: commentator mentioning the win was stolen.) Come on, its the knock out stage of a world cup, anything can happen. All Blacks didnt steal the win, apparently they know how&when to excel and they always stay humble. 💪👏 My respect to both teams, what a match!

Bit naive of you to say the players thought the game was already in the pocket. Sure some of the fans might have thought so and a lot of the media too, but any of the fans who know anything about rugby knew we had 50/50 chance against New Zealand at best. The example you give isn't of fans or players, it's a commentator who isn't even Irish.
