Spent a while last week looking for the Chinon 3001 Trevor Wisecup mentioned in your recent video, but instead stumbled upon it’s clone, a Kodak S1100XL for just £10 and can’t wait to test it out.

The Minolta Talker was the first camera I ever took pictures on as a child. I was rarely ever able to use it, only at special events. My parent's spent a lot on it when it was new. Eventually as time went on, it became mine and I was free to use it as much as I liked !

My latest thrift was a Miranda Sensorex that came as is with a pistol grip, flash attachment, and 5 lenses (35 f2.8, 50 f1.4, 50 f1.8, 50 f1.9, and a 135 f3.5)…in a leather carry…and all for $50…all items are well cared for and in working condition 😁 Can’t wait to try this stuff out 😁

I found the T90 at a flea market in my city (Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico) for 15 dollars, minor details of use, working and with a 50mm. And so I have found several film cameras that I still have at low prices like that. I even found a digital fujifilm v100S for $25 in perfect condition and working great.

Funny because I got an SRT101 too this summer! What I really liked about it is that it has a mirror lock-up feature for shake-free long exposures. And since it's fully mechanical it's perfect for that. I also got a Nikon Lite-Touch Zoom 120 with an obscene 38-120mm zoom. 😁

I literally watched this video yesterday to. Day. I went into my local thrift shop and found the manolta. Talker, auto focus. I'm not even joking and picked it up for $8 and it works. This thing is cool. I love your videos. Keep him up. I'm kind of doing the same thing now. This is a rabbit hole that I'm going down and I enjoy it.

I picked up a Talker a few months ago and it is so much fun. Lens is great and the voice is straight outta 1983. Adjustable ISO like I wish every point and shoot had. Would love to see a full review from you.

Pentax IQzoom 160 (38-160mm with panorama) and the IQzoom 928 (28-90mm, some have panorama) -- are fun cameras and the functions work well, and very decent lenses. I have a bunch of the Minolta Talker cameras -- the flash and motor drive can be finicky, but they take decent shots when working -- and the rumor is that the Japanese woman who recorded the phrases was the daughter of the head of Minolta at the time. And that was a *GREAT* find for the book! Enjoy!

This past summer I managed to find a Canon AE-1 in my local upper midwest thrift store with a Soligor 80-200mm lens attached for $10, and the Canon FD 50mm kit lens next to it for another $5. I felt like I won the lottery with that. The AE-1 needed a refurb, but after that it works so damn good

I watched this video yesterday, and I got inspired to go to a second hand shop nearby. I picked up the Minolta Talker in the Salvation Army for $3. One of the two batteries was corroded, which I cleaned out when I got home. Appears to be working.

I love Canon T90s, but there's something about the battery contacts that make them corrode super fast if it stays idle for just a while. I have a Talker that is incredibly fun and actually seem to hvae a very solid lens, but it's still stained and smelly from being in a heavy smoker's house ... not a deterrent for me, but I probably wouldn't be able to sell it.

Great to see you out on the hunt! Man -- around here all of the chain thrift stores ship out their photography equipment to their online auction sites -- nothing in the stores at all!!! And the problem with the online auctions are no testing, pretty excessive shipping/handling. But the general prices that I pay for mid-level and lower cameras is definitely less than you were seeing in the stores live.... But I would much rather have 'hands on' to check out cameras and lenses before I buy them....

Thrifted every one of my film cameras so far; so much fun. Best find so far is a Nikon FM3a with three lenses. They were asking $600 but got it for $400, which is a lot for a thrift store, but definitely worth it for that camera.

Been killing it on finding Nikons lately...scored a sick black Nikon FM and a Nikon F3HP last week. Really tempted to keep the FM, but I am definitely keeping that F3HP as it is wayyyy nicer than my F3. Week before a FA w/ the motor drive, an FM, and a Fg-20! Never had a Minolta Talker, always wanted to find one of those. Would be fun to shoot for sure! Do a video on it man.

My best thrift store find was last year. I got a Pentax MX with 50mm f1.7 SMC-M Pentax lens for 20€ (21,25$). Fully working camera with excellent lens. Lightseals were gone but it was easy job for me replacing them.

I love the Canon T90, but you have to be careful. They're so old now that even good repair shops can't get parts for them anymore. If you want to shoot with a T90, buy more than one body and use one of them for spare parts.

I still wish that we would have thrift stores in the UK , until then we have the charity shops that use ebay to sell cameras etc. The only problem is that people have got wise to this and therefore a silly bidding war starts, and while this is great for the charity, it isn't for the buyer.
