Where I am (San Francisco Bay Area), prices are all over the place! Each store has a totally different policy. Plus I go on Senior Day for the discount. And then, randomly, the cashiers radically undercharge me 🤔 So I'm always nice to them, always friendly.

I feel like the prices you show are dirt cheap. I am in NJ and Goodwill seems to think they are a regular antique store or a full price retail shop. Stores here are filled with C-R-A P. We have two chains called American Thrift and Red White & Blue Thrift which are very good. There is also another chain called "Unique" which has good stuff but there buyers sometimes price good stuff at eBay level prices. Luckily that's good for collecting but no reselling. They do have a 25-50-75% color coded markdown system so if you wait it will be on markdown within 5 days.

Northern Colorado Arc (Goodwill competitor here) and Goodwill are both really expensive the last 8 mos or so. Nothing really below 3.99 for the least little thing...$8,9,10 or more for chipped, broken, made in China.

I see so many items that I find so interesting. It's fun to shop without spending any money, husband is happy too. I'll be watching. Thanks..

Another educational video: liked the Christian Riese Lassen art work, never heard of him before, and appreciate your advise on how you choosing things: cups and other items. I do not go to the Goodwill, just go into my closets and my garage and try really hard to sell things we no longer need. One day I will go just to see what is there...thanks

I'm a retired teacher thinking about doing some resale. I lived 8 years in Akron, Ohio where i learned some things about antiques. Also, lived south of New Orleans and people put antiques in trash in favor of new items. Both were interesting to me since i am from the Texas panhandle. Too new for many antiques. I tried other thrifters, but did not care for most of them. I like your voice, your explanations and the end when you show us your haul. You do an excellent job.

OMG TIFFANY!!! This is gonna sound nuts...but true story. I won a contest designing a necktie for Save the Children by Perry Ellis back in 1991...they say my name, Dana age 12, on the back. I was 11 when they were submitted. By 1992 they went into production & became the worldwide logo for the organization. All of a sudden the design was printed on dozens of other products & bought & sold by many different companies. When you put the glass Xmas tree in the cart...there is a plate w MY design on it from when I was a kid. It’s got kids holding hands around the rim. I think around @ 13:54 That’s crazy!!!! It looks like there’s a set of 3 pieces....w an added blue & white checkerboard design. There are SO many products I’ve discovered over the years that I never even knew existed. That particular plate was sold through a company called One World, I believe. But it’s a Save The Children design. I recently started looking for items that, again, I’ve never seen before. So, if you go back & they’re still at the store I’ll pay you directly for them. THANKS, either way. ❤️

That's a great idea Elaine! At 31:18 one glass has clear geese, and the other has opaque geese. Maybe they are similar enough to be considered a set... Does anyone else have thoughts on that?😊💕

I think you could sell them together as well. They are clearly the same style with a slight difference. I think most people would be fine with that. I know I would be.

Great thrifting video, I know its a bit older now but I am enjoying watching all your videos I have time to. Those Orange Rooster plates are neat, I just today purchased a creamer that matches those. I love anything with chickens and roosters on them. Had to get it, it was 50% off red at a local Teen Challenge we have here in Fort Myers, Florida and at $1.99 with half off I figured why not. I have a teapot collection so having creamers and sugar bowls are not uncommon for me to have to go with.

Unfortunately, they are only selling for about $10 each plus shipping on Ebay, so at $14 for both, that wouldn't leave me enough room for profit. I picked up some lisa frank folders for 10c the other day and was really excited but turns out they arent the vintage ones, so not sure if they have as much value. Still cute tho! Wish i had saved all my trapper keepers from back in the day!

My kids live in Vegas. I have had pretty good luck with Goodwills there. I really like that they have senior discounts. They don’t do that in Utah. You should shop the Deseret Industries.

Ok, I keep seeing this so I'm gonna ask. At 17:57 you pick up a mug with writing on the bottom, it looks like a "4R". I have seen this on multiple items in your Goodwill videos. What does this mean?

Could the painter's palette be a trivet? That was my 1st thought.

Yes, Rags, at 22:57 its made of ceramic with a rim on the base, so could definitely be a trivet. Its very small though, but would work for a hot sauce or individual ramekin, something like that. Thank you for watching! 😊💕

You GW is far more organized than mine. In this ara Goodwill has taken to merchandising everything by color. It's so hard to shop. So imagine all the red housewares on one fixture, blue in another, clear on another, etc.

The prices are going up every week in Southern WV. Hearing customers complain often. They do get everything given to them so think this is a bit greedy.

GW prices in north Texas are higher than Las Vegas, but they've really been increasing here. Those things are donated to them, they have spent nothing to stock their shelves. And they pay their poor workers pennies. I'm honestly rethinking whether i shop at gw any longer.

You giys GW way higher! I never thought i would see a gw higher than NC

I am curious, which platform sells best for you? What would you say are your percentage of sales from each? Also, how much profit do you expect on an average sale. Sometimes I am happy to get $4 after all the fees and stuff.

I would say that Ebay does the best for me, followed by direct inquiries I receive from my KZread subscribers, Poshmark and then local sales. My goal is to profit at least $15 - $20 on an item to make it worth my time, but often if I like something, I have several of the same item or know I can flip it fast, I'm ok with less profit! @@ThriftingVegas well trust me, don't come to the one in Ormond Beach Florida! It's a tiny dump. And I think it's the only Goodwill in Volusia County. So sad. Thank you for responding. The jars normally run brand new for about a dollar a piece, but the new ones also have the added thing that you get a lid and a band.

Love your channel. You often buy what I would buy and you seem to like what I would buy for myself ! You have an easy way that I find relaxing. I have hearing loss so have to turn the volume up as loud as it will go on my phone. Today your volume sounds muffled in some places and softer than usual. I double checked to see if it was me or the sound. It was difficult to follow. Sharing this as information not complaint because very often people like me will not say they have hearing loss, they will just move on. Or stop watching altogether. In person it’s the smiling nodding head that hasn’t got a clue, especially with the masks - there’s no pretending by following lips!
