    Your bronze bust has a matching sister who's covering her ears and has a snail where the brother has a salamander. They're bookends circa 1959 and I hope you find the mate!

    The little hand was part of a Edwardian style belt. There would be two hands, one had a little hook and the other a hole that's how it connected. They were called clasping hands belts. Hand jewelry (like brooches) were popular in the Victorian and Edwardian eras. I'm not sure if yours is really that old or just a vintage revival piece. But it would be cool to check it out. It would look good as a Christmas ornament using a burgundy ribbon with a bow near the wrist 😊💗

    I don’t know why the thrift stores are so expensive, after all everything is donated free. A lot of the times you can buy at a better price at Home Goods and it new. I stopped donating to especially Goodwill.

    I stopped donating to Goodwill years ago because they price the items too high for anyone to purchase. I'm finding the Salvation Army and most thrift stores are doing the same thing. I'll stick to the vintage stores where I expect these kind of prices...

    I've been binge watching your thrift with me videos. Love it so much. The "mist" lol matched chairs for $175 is wildly stupid! I couldn't believe it at $75 let alone $175. So crazy but I love how you said " mist" matched lol its miss matched... Like, its a miss on the matching. Anyways, please keep these thrift videos coming!! Thanx for sharing.

    Yes I like art glass and, believe it or not, I’m a lover of clear glass unlike many. Clear glass just sparkles when clean and I love that aesthetic. I also love scenic watercolour (especially beached boats and swimming baths) art pieces and framed needle work (not child resentation.) During the year put your red bird in the south west corner of your home. It is good Feng shui for good luck. Great video. Big thanks.

    Part of the problem of the higher prices at thrift stores is because of the many resellers buying the items and reselling to make a profit. The thrift stores realize that and mark the items higher which is unfortunate for those of us buying items for our homes.

  • @HomeMadeVintage

    @HomeMadeVintage

    I guess, but does mean the thrift stores feel like they should be the ones making a “higher profit” on the items they received free? Seems kind of silly for them to feel that way.

Something else people think that thrift store is everything donated and the items are free. Nope. All thrift stores have to paid a charety 3 % yearly From all the sale that they do. They paid hi rate of rents light insurance trucks gas employees with benefits. Nothing is free. And I know because I been a thrift store manager for more that 35 years.
