Same! Easy boho or modern farmhouse flip
I started my first piece of furniture the other day, and it was a CHORE! But the satisfaction I felt after finishing was amazing, so I'm gonna keep going. Furniture in my area is quite expensive even at thrift stores and the market is saturated with "flippers" at the moment so I'm trying to focus on unique pieces and children's furniture! Enjoy your new home! God Bless!
The dresser you looked at at the last Goodwill for $40.00 was a DREXEL Heritage. (The label was on the back) Premium maker and piece. I get top dollar for Drexel dressers. Not easy to come by.
That wall tree would be outstanding redone!!!
I’m so glad you’re both taking time to rejuvenate. Self care is extremely important. Good on ya! And THANK. YOU for all the videos. I’m learning so much!
That entry way piece for $40....that would be for me!! loved it! Thanks for taking us along!
Hall tree bench would have been a great one to flip! I am currently looking for one and they are so expensive! Enjoy your time off ~ ☺️
Thanks for doing another video of you sourcing furniture for flips. Your logic helps me a lot. Although some pieces you walked away from I would have bought just because I love 1920-1930s pieces.
I simply adore you! Your videos are edited so nicely and I always learn something! So glad you are taking some time for yourself but can’t wait to see what you do with the house! ❤️
I would have gotten the antique entry piece with the mirror!

Yes!
Once at a Goodwill, I saw a fancy divan/settee, but very dirty upholstery. Originally $75, marked down several times to $25. I turned over the cushions, they had to be reversed right and left. The other side was much cleaner. I didn’t buy it, but as I went by that aisle again, it was gone! I literally “flipped” it, still in the store!
It's so great you have a healthy, strong, talented, supportive husband

Laughing that I made it to the bonus Goodwill... thanks for taking us along!
Love when you take us shopping. I’d have to pass on the cookies although they are awesome and the chair. For some reason even though those chairs are such an easy good flip, I just can’t stand them lol Anyway thank you for sharing your knowledge on what to look for, it’s really helpful.
I can't believe you have 9 goodwill's in a reasonable distance in Omaha! I lived there and don't remember that many of them. Too cool! SO have you guys eaten at Julios? It use to be a great place to go. There was alsoa place on 90th and Blondo that had great pizza, Margs and Mexican. Yes crazy and they were all good! Thanks for all your videos!
Hi Lorin, Came by your channel by accident. Ended up loving your story about paying off debt, marketing, and monetizing your cannel much more than about furniture flipping. So I decided to subscribe.
Yeeeaaahhhh! You're sitting down! Good girl! Relax a bit, enjoy!
I did see you and talked to you when you brought the orange chair! Also the table that you showed at a different goodwill I brought! I love watching all your videos. I have learned a lot from you and been doing some flipping myself! Thank you guys for all your help.

@Shelley Terzich I like that table. I’m very curious what you plan to do with it. When she was showing the furniture that they bought. I was thinking Please table be there. Lol. I was disappointed it wasn’t there. So I’m very curious to see your finished project.
I can't believe you passed on that Cambridge Aspen Home dresser! It retails for $1220.00! If I didn't live 8 hours away, I'd go get it... Love your videos! 😊
You are so fortunate to have Goodwill stores that still accepts furniture. Wisconsin Goodwill stores stopped accepting furniture December 2021. So....frustrating. On the up side, items in our Goodwill stores are organized by color. Keep up the good work.

I moved from Arizona to Wisconsin and was surprised that none of the Goodwill stores seem to have furniture, but I didn't know why. This is so sad! I just looked it up, and found an article that the stores around Milwaukee stopped accepting furniture, but I'm in the Madison area and there's almost no furniture in the Goodwill stores here.
Make sure you load pieces with the drawers inward. They tend to fall out if they are not against something else. (Ask me how I know!) LOL luv your videos!
I think you should do video's on fixing your house room by room that would be pretty cool

Hutches and dinning cabinets are great for turning them into bibliography book cabinets. Displaying unique books and prized articles!
Hall storage, “ mud room “ Hall coat racks! Coming back BIG .
Glad your taking a well deserved break! I like the goodwill videos, especially when you find something. I can’t wait to see how your fixer upper turns out!🙂
I would have grabbed that entry bench so fast, 😃
lately my goodwill prices are on the level of new furniture, ugh. I have to focus on marketplace
You should have gotten that tall entry way piece for the Airbnb .. people who use airbnbs don't use dressers..
@FurnitureFlippingTeacher

we didn't know at the time of this thrifting trip that we were going to have an air bnb 🤣
Glad you’re having a well earned rest! Having to find a house, pack up, sell up & move not just your home but your business in 30 days is pretty intense!
I can’t wait to see the pieces after you do them
Not sure if you've ever been down by 16th & Vinton but back when I lived in Omaha there used to be a used furniture store there. There were also a few mom & pop thrift stores in that area as well. I used to go to a weekly auction down there. Sure do miss Omaha!
I found a KidKraft table and chairs for children at my thrift store for $9.99. I couldn't pass it up. I'll start working on it soon. I finishing up some wall art I created. Thanks for taking us along with you on thriifting at GW. BTW, I would have bought the GS cookies too!!! Success!!!!!
Store #9 - flip top table looks like an antique.
10 Goodwis in one day!? That's heavenly. I'd have to travel hours to get to 10 Goodwills.
Everyone needs a break after a period like yours, I’m glad you listened to awesome followers as well as your own bodies! I love seeing you thrifting!! 🥰 It does leave me a bit frustrated about the thrift store situation here in my area in Sweden, which is mostly IKEA furniture (idk why that’s surprising haha) or other bad quality stuff. Waaay more customers than donors as well, and I’ve never been to a thrift store with a discount. That’s just not a thing here 💸😅 Anyways, I really hope you’ll take the time you both need to settle in, we’ll be here when you are ready to go again! 🥰
The first hutch! Love it!!
I appreciate you doing these videos I’ve learned a lot!
Taller dressers are men’s chest of drawers. You have taught me so much with selection of pieces. Thank you!

They are often referred to as the " high boy" in a set of bedroom furniture.
I have never been so inspired to start a new venture, and that’s all because of you. I just flipped my first little cabinet it was just sanding and painting the piece and painting the hardware I was so proud of myself and that’s all thanks to you. Also coming home today someone threw out a beautiful nightstand all it needs is a good painting and new hardware it will be my next small project and it was free Thank you for your inspiration..
Lauren - Absolutely LOVE watching you and learning from YOU!!! I have a question for you: When you rip the skirt off a chair, what about the holes in the fabric left when the staples are out? How do you get rid of those? THANK YOU!!!
The only thing you didn't get that I thought you would and I liked alot was the entry way peice. Great finds
I went to an auction last weekend and I’m addicted lol they had great furniture to flip at where I went in Fremont Ne. I got a nice antique vanity for 35 dollars! Auctions are also a good place to go to get furniture! Also estate sales.
I just learned a big one AGAIN... I saw an armoire at a thrift store and thot I wd go back the next week and get it! You know what happened! It was gone! If you really like acpiece, you shd get it then... Thank you SO much for sharing ur videos!!!
I love these Goodwill trips and lessons.
Awesome to see the different types of Goodwills and what you find. Thanks for sharing, great video! ☺️
Thumbs up Always!💕The person who is reading this comment, I wish you great success, health, love and happiness 🌺
It’s so weird but since the pandemic our Goodwill has not had furniture in Milwaukee. I asked one of the workers why, but he said he didn’t know why.
So happy for you both!!
Idk how your goodwill furniture prices are so low. I don't think I've seen furniture for under $200 at the ones around me. But there are a few other stores, I think one is called Habitat Restore or something- it has Everything a home could need that's all second hand, and priced to Move. Windows, doors, furniture, all the knobs/pulls/you name it, tile, really, everything you could imagine. A lot of the furniture moves fast, but they have a ton of china cabinets and old school entertainment centers all the time

Habitat ReStores totally rock and they frequently have 50% off furniture that's already priced low plus the last time I was in one they had tons of excellent drawer pulls for 50 cents each, the kind that go for $7 - 8.00 at Lowe's or Home Depot. Some of them also have DVD's, CD's, housewares, lawn & garden, lamps, paint, flooring, bed frames, sinks, pictures (sometimes I buy one for the frame), tons of stuff and usually lower priced than thrift stores.
Hi. Awhile ago you requested info on brush cleaning. I’m a painter, & for water-based paint, I’ve always washed with Speedball pink soap (better known to artists as that pink stuff. Lol) & then when all the paint is out, wipe the water out of the brush with your fingers. Then wipe brush over The Masters brush cleaner & preserver to get some on the brush. Form the desired shape of the brush with your hands & leave cleaner in until you use brush again. For oil based paints, rinse with turpentine or turpenoid first. Hope this is helpful. Sounds complicated but it really isn’t. 🙂
The basket would be great for your B&B
Girl Scout Cookies!! Yum 😍
I think it is so cute that you got excited about the Girl Scout Cookies. I ALWAYS buy them. You only find them once a year.
The little secretary is popular for home work stations in my area. Also vanity makeup station/jewelry box. Good for girls room or walk in closet

I loved that too. Don't remember hearing a price but my granddaughter s would love that.
I like the gold chair but I would take the swivel base off and add legs.
I love how you explain things
I just discovered your channel and your videos are AMAZING! Thanks for all the tips, I learned so much! Keep up the fantastic work! Your are so talented! ❤
Wow the Aspen piece of furniture is worth a lot can’t wait to see what you do with that thank you for being an inspiration
Thank you so much for all the tips you share with us. Rest as much as you can before you hit the ground running. Best of luck in your new home 🏠
You should have gotten that cane entry bench!!!! For your new house:)
The hall tree. 😍😍
I just got a MCM dresser like the blond one you passed up. I can’t wait to see how it turns out when I’m done! I’d love ideas for how to paint it. I do not have a vision for it yet.
The dresser and nightstand you bought at the first GW looks like my bedroom set that I got from Ashley Furniture about 12 years ago. Can’t wait to see what you do with them. I wish you would have also bought that hall tree.
Thanks for the insights. Looking for myself.
Good tips!!....thank you!👍👍👍
Do you ever try to bargain w/ the Goodwills? I know the $80 dresser could probably get some knocked off for the gouges and major blemishes. Always worth asking...unless they know you and your talent than it might be hard :) Thanks for the vid!
Thanks for the information
Watched the whole video..as usual because youre interesting to watch and learn shopping tips from... The information was presented well...
Thank you for all the tips when looking at furniture. I just checked a dresser that came from my mom’s place. Checked the top drawer, dovetail ✔️ Metal plaque ✔️burnt in the wood made in Vermont ✔️ it is solid maple. Mfg by Baumritter. I now know the history of the dresser. Now to decide what type of paint or sand to bare wood 🤔
I thought the old wide office desk was stunning.
~ the piece at 18:14 could be an entryway piece where you put on shoes, store gloves hats scarves etcetera ~
Great tips on selecting furniture.
Just Wow
I’m so jealous - I have a Goodwill, Salvation Army, and a handful of smaller local thrift shops and none of them ever have much furniture 😥
Good info!!
I would have bought the $10 drop-leaf table for myself.
stay down and REST . YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET SICK , ALSO have someone chk FOR BLACK MOLD... IT CAN KILL !!!!! im glad your finally in your new home ..slow and steady wins the race !!!!!! no need to ball bust !!!! your not going anywhere!!!! YOUR OFFICALLY HOME!!!! YEEE HAAAA;];];] SO PROUD OF YOU BOTH!!! CONGRATES
Thanks for information
Interesting video.
Wow!! 11 Goodwill Stores!! There isn't even one near me! and 4 types of Girl Scout Cookies? In Canada they are called Girl Guides and there are only 2 types ( The Winter ones are chocolate with white mint filling inside, the Spring ones are one row vanilla and one row double chocolate in each box). Thanks for taking us along! So fun to see the prices.

There are more than 4 kinds of Girl Scout cookies in the US. She only bought 4 kinds. In the US they only sell them once a year I believe. Personally I haven't eaten GS cookies in years.. but I did buy them for my Mom and 2nd Dad. But both have passed away so now the GS cookies are fond memories of my parents.
Collecting again? I cant wait to see your new home renovations.
Lauren, congrats on your home. Lots of space their for a furniture craftsman. Lauren I am just starting my first pieces, 2 either end tables or they could be nightstands. Lauren, could you recommend what might be the best color for appealing to prospective buyers?
That’s crazy that your market doesn’t do well with “ tall boy” dressers! My market it seems, is the exact opposite! No matter the quality, long and low, 6-9 drawer dressers sit for months! Even mid century
I don't think I could get to 6 goodwill stores in a day from where I live.
WOW! you have a lot of Goodwills. Occasionally, I make a day of it, drive a 50 mile loop hitting all 8 that are in my area. Do you ever play what I call "the wait & see game"? I like it but, I'm not willing to pay the asking price. I might be persuaded to make a purchase if its been marked down. So I wait & see.
Hi the Apsenhome dresser please let know how to get the drawers out to paint .
HELP!! I have a 1960ish metal desk. It's missing the drawer, but looks like a full size table. I've had it for years in my craft room. It was my Papa's back in his teaching days at the Vo-tech for welding. It will stay in my craft room which I'm currently redecorating. Need some inspiration.
Man we've looked everywhere for the entrance way bench and can never find any
I have always loved hall stands, but in my neck of the woods they are very expensive.
I've been looking for just that china cabinet. DIYWife splits the set and ends up with the base as a hutch or dresser and the top she puts her famous feet on it. Check it out, it looks fantastic.
That hall tree would have sold here in New Orleans for at least $500!
Girl Scout cookies!!!
You are very lucky! My local goodwills are no longer accepting furniture donations :(
What do you do to avoid bed bugs?
Dang, I would be tired after one Goodwill.
My gosh, how big is your city? 11 thrift stores!
@hamsonthehill
2 жыл бұрын
Vivian, I live in the same area as Lauren. That is 11 Goodwills. We have at least that many other thrift stores in our area. A lot to choose from but it does take tons of time to hit them all. I can't do it in one day.
B”
What city has 11 goodwill stores????
You should use your furniture flipping skills for some of the less desirable pieces and leave the nice quality ones for lower income people who actually need them.
Isn't this your old warehouse?
