Flipping furniture doesn't always have to be for profit! This week I got to tackle a flip that was close to my heart! My parent's entryway table needed a little love so instead of buying a new one, I painted the one they already had! I saw one similar at Target for $250 and decided to recreate it myself! Let’s not forget, aside from saving $, it’s about sustainability. There is entirely too much throwing away going on in our world. The more we keep out of the landfills, the better for all of us.
Please update her stairs. That would be such a fun project to watch you do! 🤩

I noticed the stair railing and wandered if her mom would be interested in an update with that, also!🤩
Looks beautiful! Something to try next time is using a nozzle on your air compressor to "dust" that cane (or baskets, screen, etc). Also, turn buttons on the underside would make the cane removable for a future remake.

I’ve also seen a ‘sand blasting’ kit that attaches to a compressor and it is used to get finishes out of crevices and corners and detail work and did a super quick job of it too! Wish I could remember the guy’s you tube channel that had it but I imagine they are not hard to find. He had a bucket of sand attached to it too.
I really like the black. Now you should ask mom about redoing her stairs and spindles.

Well done! The table looks great! Ever thought of flipping your Mum’s staircase to get rid of the orange? You could paint it or stain it light walnut or lighter. Would be a great flipping idea for viewers. 😉😉 Edit! Just seen similar comments below!

I agree with everyone else, you look like your mother. Her reaction was adorable. The savings from a Target table was astounding. Your refinish could easily be found in much higher priced stores. I had a living room set just like that. All of you swear you won't get cane bottomed anything with cats. Actually, don't have furniture until your cats are at least three. Sit on the floor.

A soft brush might work to clean the crevices of caned or wicker pieces. Good job, as usual.😉

I have that exact table, just a bit darker in color. I got it at the Salvation Army about 15 years ago. I have a lamp on it and loads of plants on both levels. I love mine and what you've done to your Mom's. Your work is always so relatable.

To get dust out of tight crevices, use a new, dry paint brush. Keep that brush for dusting purposes only.

This turned out beautifully! Your Mom couldn't stop smiling! I actually had a table exactly like this one when we moved into our first home 50 years ago! I have used DB Silk line and love how smoothly it goes on. Neiman is so cute and handy too!
Absolutely beautiful. I have two end tables that look just like the entry table. They are about 40 years old too. They could use a facelift.😊
The table looks beautiful! I just took my table that was 45 years old and two end tables to Habitat for Humanity. They were in our formal front room for years and just like new. I needed to reduce the furniture and rightfully so but had I seen this I may have thought twice before giving them away. I wish you lived closer as I also have some white French Provincial dresser and chest of drawers that have everything attached and like new from 1965. Ugh..........funny thing is I was born in Omaha and if I was still there you could come and get them. :-( I live on the west coast now so that is a no go. It is a good thought however. Blessings...........love what you have done with the black and linen like color.
I painted that same texture that was in the front of the drawers in my pop up camper. I thought I would remove it at first, but then as I was painting it, I ended up really loving that design.
