I would use the foam stuff in a spray can to fill in the openings so you won't have the critter problem. Since you live out in the country they will find it a nice warm space if you don't patch up all the openings.

I have the same storage. Be to seal the holes with foam. When it rains, you don’t want everything to get mildewed. I do have a spot open for air. I do have shelves. Nice job.

For the bed skirt, split down the middle. Take the pleat out- in the middle and keep flat on the end where the pleat was. You have pleats on the corners for fullness. I use old sheets to fill in the middle of the box springs

Suggestion: Use heavy duty waterproof caulk (for outdoor use) to close off any cracks on the floor and ceiling; it will keep out bugs and water. Eventually, metal storage buildings will have leaks; so storing items in plastic bins is advisable. It is always nice to have extra storage for household decor.

I had the same storage problem that you had, seasonal decor in the attic of the garage. I had to rely on my son to get things down for me & put them back up. So, we decided to build a 10x12 cottage (storage shed) in the back yard. I absolutely love it ! Everything in one spot , easy to access & easy to put things back. I hope you enjoy your new storage shed as much as I enjoy mine.

Hey Julie!! I'm so happy for you about the storage shed. It will help you tremendously! The one thing I would caution you about is storing your pillows out there. They would be better in your attic. Anything in a plastic bag may get ruined. I speak from experience! Just wanted to give you a heads up on that. I love seeing you each week and enjoy your sweet ways!😇

Very organized Julie and you did a good job.❤This 8' x 6' Metal Outdoor Storage Shed has a large storage space inside, which can store most of the tools you will use in your daily life such as mowers, ladders, tool kits and other items to keep your yard clean. The design of the tall walls also allow for plenty of headroom to work, hang tools or stack something according to your needs.

I totally agree with the comment about not storing your pillows in the shed. No matter how tight you think it is, little critters like mice and bugs can still get in and ruin your cloth items. I have had this happen to me a few times and I was just amazed they got to my stuff. That nice new shed will definitely make your life much easier.

  • @nickkick0

Hey Julie! What a nice shed they sent you and great job your hubby did on putting it together and organizing the stuff for you. I also am from Texas and in the general area that you are in and thought I better remind you of our Texas pest that will definitely get into all your pretty stuff and ruin it all. I would suggest if no pets can or will get in the shed I would put Rat and Mice Bait out inside the shed and inside the totes. One that really works is called "Just One Bite" (Amazon has it)... it is a yellow bar that kind of looks like a corn cob. You can break it in half or in thirds with a chisel and hammer and what I've done is too use like a solo cup or any little container and put a piece in it to put in each storage tote. Believe me it just takes one bit as it says.. and they usually and hopefully they go outside to die. Then for the Roaches (Yuck!) as we know those big ole Tree Roaches are Texas Size.... plus any of the little other kinds can ruin things with their droppings, so I have found the Big Combat Roach Killing Bait for Large and Small Roaches the big black disc are perfect to put out inside your shed and also inside totes if you want extra protection. They also work so well. I can not stand roaches at all so I do my best to prevent them by using these Combat Discs Everywhere... lol I even put them outside and inside of my window sills and rarely ever see one but occasionally if I do see one of the big tree roaches.. he's usually sick already from getting into the bait. Anyway just wanted to share these things hoping to prevent you from all your found treasures getting ruined...

Love your videos! How can I use a wooden wine rack. It fold down almost flat. I know rolling pins or towels in the bath. Just trying to find something cute. If I can’t think of anything else I’ll use on back of toilet for hand towels. Any advice is appreciated.

I am no longer able to do the attic storage. Our new to us house just doesn’t have the great storage our home in Germany had…which was a huge attic space inside and a huge attic space over the garage. I also had teenage boys back then to help me. I would love a shed, but am worried about the humidity in Florida ruining things. Our garage is a huge mess right now!

So agree with the previous person make sure it’s in sealed boxes or the mice will get in and ventilate because it will sweat 😊

We put moth balls in and under our shed to deter critters. The only thing that mice can’t chew their way thru is to use large tins - which are not even close to using totes.

Hubby and I just built a metal shed to store all of his extra tools and man "stuff" - basically stuff I don't want in the house.😂

I'd fill in any gaps around the edges because of mice! Also make sure it doesn't leak when it rains before putting anything in the shed.

Hey, Julie! I’m glad to see your storage issue has been solved. I’m taking a chance with this comment to mention that Merina and Shane over at Fearfully CREATED are in desperate need of a storage shed. Perhaps Patiowell might be interested in sponsoring one of their videos, giving them a chance to get a shed. If there is any way that you could point Patiowell in their direction I know it would be a blessing! I’ve been watching them since you mentioned their channel many videos back, and just love them and their little family. I hope you don’t mind me suggesting this, but thanks in advance if there’s anything you and Patiowell can do! Take care! ♥️

To help keep the mice out get get heavy course steel wool and shove a bunch in the openings large and small. The mice can’t chew through it.
