Oh that bird book and the quilt! You find the best things on your thrifting journey. For me it’s books, tins, alarm clocks, milk glass….oh dear. I have just too many things I love to collect. I am also from Canada. Collingwood Ontario. It’s not easy to find treasures so I love watching what you find!❤️

Great finds! Who doesn’t like old wood blocks! The hours of fun that a child has enjoyed, now too worn for them but, perfect for decorating. Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️🇨🇦

Hello Laura! I want to polish the silver pedestal dish and add the old worn blocks in them. I am hoping the contrast will look pretty. But yes, the blocks became another thing to collect somewhere along the line… what’s next?

Oh My Gosh!!! Best thrift haul EVER!! Did you find all this at a thrift store?? Or Antique store?? That's a fabulous store!!! Everything you got is fantastic. Magazines. Books are to die for! Quilt is AMAZING!!! 30 years ago, a friend gave me an old quilt her Aunt made. I loved it. But it WAS very raggedy. When we moved from California back to Texas in 2001, my son tossed it. Of course I wasn't doing journals then. I gave all my fabric and art & craft supplies to my son's friend's mom. My son thought the quilt was "trash"!!! I always loved handmade things so I loved it even all torn up! But, like most people, he didn't see the value in it like I did. It was so ragged even for a thrift store to sell. I miss that crazy thing. I always hope I will find one like it in a thrift store. Maybe SOMEDAY!!! You know how excited we get when we find vintage "goodies"!! I love all your pin cushions! Reminds me of when I was a girl. If you had a pin cushion,...that's the kind it was!!! Hahaha!!! TFS!!! Austin TX USA

Hello Barbara! So nice to hear your stories! I think a quilt only becomes a treasure once it’s ragged and torn and the fabric is thin and all washed out…
