In the debate Wilson/McDermott I vote for: both are awesome and beyond comparison. And it's amazing how they sing the same songs so differently yet both versions are awesome. Just enjoy, it's not boxing.

I love the refinement of Damian's vocals. It adds a certain class to an already classy band!

Mac was great and with him, threshold's future and opportunities were limitless. But due to Mac....RIP...... the band suffered a great loss along with the rest of the world. But we can't dwell in the past. Threshold must continue! and we all know we want to hear more from them. In the end, who better to fit Mac's shoes than the man who Mac filled in for? Damian is more than capable to carry on as the singer and we have to support the band cuz if we dont, threshold will end.RIPMAC ROCKONTHRESHOLD

As a longtime Threshold fan, I'm simply glad they are soldiering on. I agree that Mac was clearly a more soulful singer. Psychedelicatessen has always been one of my favorite releases of all time. It's good to hear Damian back with the band, and I'm looking forward to "March of Progress" to hear how well they've meshed.

They definitely belong to my list of the bands I need to see before I die!

I wish they'd rerecord some of the old songs with Damian.

I was there! It was pure magic. I waited so many years to see Damian with Threshold. What a dream come true! :) Got to tell Rich (again) how he's my favorite keyboardist in metal, and tell Damian how thrilled I was to see him in the flesh. I've got the DVD and it's great, though I really wish they'd included "Sanity's End" as well.

Damian is also good!!! Wish one day to see Threshold live!!!!!!!!

BTW Damian Wilson's version of "Pilot" doesn't sound so bad. I also think Mac is the best vocalist Threshold's ever had, but Damian is good actually. His voice is correctly tuned to the song, he doesn't overdo his loud vocal parts, and his low pitched operatic voice fits the lyrics and the mood in the song. If that's the live version of Damian Wilson then I can't wait for Threshold to release a new album with him as the lead singer :)

After listening to the version with Damian I still miss Mac and his singing. I like Damians voice a lot, his Best-Of-2-CD is in heavy rotation in my CD-player, but for Threshold Mac´s voice fits better. My opinion.

I love Damian Wilson's voice. His solo concerts were a blast, as are his contributions to Arjen Lucassen's works (Ayreon and Star One). However... I really, REALLY miss Mac. :( I grew up with Hypothetical, Critical Mass and Subsurface. Life will never be the same without new songs with Mac at the mic.

LaBrie hasn't acheived anything especially unique. He's never been one of the very best. But especially at his peak before the food poisoning incident, he undeniably had an excellent voice with fantastic range. All im saying is, it's amazing how he reformed himself as a vocalist in the post-Awake DT albums. You gotta give him credit for that.

BTW is it just me or Rich doesn't want to be shown much on camera, especially during Keyboard solos? I noticed it also on the Critical Energy DVD, the only time he was pretty mch visible was during Sanity's End, and that was pretty much it. More Rich! :)

Mac was by far the better front man and singer, not to take anything away from Damien, he's good, but lacks something Mac had, who had more soul live, just my opinion.

I must be the only person who prefers Damian Wilson with them. Can't really say Mac's voice suited them better when Damian was the original. Listen to the first Threshold album's with Damian. They're incredible. Damian has near flawless technique. He's fantastic.

@ffestudio Damian obviously fits better with Threshold cause he was the original. Some people may prefer Mac, but they can't say he "fits" better. Obviously, Mac sings Mac's material better, cause he helped write it. People saying Damian "sucks" or don't belong with them though is just ridiculous.

I doubt they will, since Damian was their singer before Mac joined. I have to agree however, even though Damian is technically a great singer, he somewhat lacks Mac's uniqueness.

IMO this guy singing whole song in same way .But it's very good ,for live performance(comparing with Adagio live...huuuh)Threshold's songs are hard for singing,no matter who is on vocals.

+FrioneeeL: I'm quite sure this song is a dialogue between man and God. Richard West is a Christian and this wouldn't be even close to the first time a Threshold song has had spiritual undertones.

It's just not Damian's own song. It was written for Mac. To make some songs your own, when they were written for someone else is hard work and usually it becomes a cover. Good example is Mac's version of Supermassive Black hole. It was different. And it was good. But most of all it was studio recording. I think that Damian tries to sing it Mac's way and it's just wrong. It limits his own vocal. But maybe I just haven't heard Mac's live vocal. And stop bashing LaBrie. Listen to IaW and Awake.

I love Damian. Love Glynn. But there is no argument to be done here! This song is and will always be Andrews song! I see it as his swan song personally. Making it even more touching than it already is.
