Your rigs are sick. The mods are endless. I have a 2010 f150 fx4. I found a 2012 polomino bronco 800 for $6500. We love it. We basically are campers and road trippers. We can't send it at high speeds off road by any means but coming from a jeep and first gen hilux offroading and rock crawler background we can get through obstacles that most won't do with more capable rigs. It's been a game changer having a bed kitchen fridge and warm small home all on the back of the truck. Wish we could me others for group adventures like your selves.

Love that build out and the fact you can customize it exactly how you need. I'm considering selling my front dinette hawk slide-in to build out a Project M. Having that wide open rear hatch and tailgate is super functional. Sometimes with the Hawks you can feel entirely enclosed so it would be nice to open it up like you showed in that couch mode. Awesome build man!

Sometimes I feel like I want to upgrade to a slide in, but then I think about the tailgate and I’m cool with the PM. Thanks for watching!

Four Wheel Camper is my vote! Thanks man. This is what is cool, there are so many option setups. I have F250 diesel with a Leer topper that can sleep 2 with 200 ah, 200 watt deal. On the top, Alu-cab clam shell roof top. I pull a Wolf Pup 17JG, a slide out, U shape dinette, bunkhouse. 3800 dey weight with 600 watt solar and 500 ah batteries. I installed an 8000 btu AC, I can run the AC 24/7 presuming it is sunny. I have been watching a lot of ROA vids. Although those rigs are cool and very capable, at $50 to $100k, tough to accept. My 17JG was $24k, lifted and light enough to go where I want to go. Because my rig is leaf spring and so is the trailer, 21 to 24 psi air down helps out a lot.

Great comparison between the 3! You guys all nailed it when you said they're way better than a RTT! I have the Topo Toppers Badlander and my buddy has the Vagabond Drifter. Another friend is waiting for his Oru. I dig your interior build out.

I'm curious as to why you are worried about the longevity of the OVRLND? There have been a tons of issues with GFC over the years, They even have dedicated teams to drive around the country to take care of issues (Good on them for taking care of the issues) I have never heard of anyone having problem's with the OVRLND's.

I've been eying the Tune M1 camper, so far it's my favorite due to the glass panels and extra width for a king mattress.

My wife and I both have Ram diesel pickups. Her 2500 has a 2200# payload. While my 1500 has only an 1100# payload. I bought a FWC Hawk model for my wife's truck. My truck currently has a Snugtop camper shell. I am considering the OVRLND camper to give me the ability to carry larger objects and sometimes do some overlanding. While still staying within my weight limits.

Thanks for the reviews. Quick question for you. How is the dust? I’ve read a few reviews of the project M where people say there is a lot of dust that gets in. Would love to hear your perspective on that. Thanks again for the video!!

  • @sponsoredbywifey

With any topper camper with tailgate combo you will have dust get in. It mostly comes in because the tailgate isn’t sealed. I haven’t done anything to minimize the dust because it hasn’t been too much of an issue. I have a blower and just blow all the dust out when I get to camp.

I have a little bit of dust intrusion at the tailgate. I haven’t done anything to try to seal it up. My family and I Bring more dirt getting in and out that the dust that comes in while driving doesn’t seem so bad. I do carry a Milwaukee blower and that helps a lot.
