Why can’t we embrace looking older yet good! Why do we need to look younger?

Because there's a certain point in your life where you stop looking your best. Usually that's by mid to late 30s, early 40s. After that you can still look like you, but no matter what, you'll look older. Ppl don't equate sagging, wrinkles, age spots etc. with attractiveness, or as your most attractive version of you. Most ppl don't like looking older than about 40, no matter what we try to tell ourselves. And that's in part bc we've only ever been young, we're born young....our identity is being young until we're not anymore, so it takes some getting used to to embrace a whole new category that's not associated with being youngnthat we all reach one day no matter if we want to or not.

Because once you (ie women) look old, we cease to exist in the eyes of society! Men don’t give a first glance never mind a second; younger women look down on us ‘cos they’re stuck at home with mortgages they can’t pay, screaming brats and money problems; and teenagers look at us like we’re Aliens. Hope that enlightens you.

I like this analogy better, of course I want to look like I take care of myself but not trying to turn back the clock, be youthful not young accept your age and be glad God is letting you live right now.

Great segment. I love Dr. Youn! Ms. Byrd was great as well, but I would have loved to see someone (maybe from the audience) that actually had some skin issues, who did not have a skin care routine already. Possibly giving them a sample of product? Of course, I'm only going by this clip, maybe that was done.

This was a fabulous episode! So timely. Dr. Youn’s tips were priceless and I bought his book. But the guest, Angelita Byrd, was PHENOMENAL!! I was really inspired by her poise and her self care practices she shared. It’s obvious a lot more went into being the woman she is beyond her beauty care. As a woman of color in her 40s, I want to hear from more women like me share their journey. Have you considered bringing her back on the show to do a full segment on her? Oh my god. I thought the same thing. I’m 60 years old and in my opinion, she looks my age.
