Explanation for those who are interested in the lyrics and meaning of the song. This track is a mix of two traditional Russian songs. The first part (0:32) is a South Russian wedding song that was sung when welcoming arriving newlyweds. Lyrics: Ох и да крута гора Да и не взойдешь, не взъедешь Ох и да не взойдешь, не взъедешь Да казаков нанять The second part (3:01) is a fragment of a joking North Russian song about a priest's wife giving birth to a sparrow. This folk text can also be found in the opera Boris Godunov by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky. Lyrics: Молода попадья породила воробья Совсем воробей, совсем молодой Черноносенький, востроносенький

Translation Please draw down, I beg you, those solid blue curtains. Sister nurse, no potions for me, no drugs. Here they stand by my bed, my three ultimate debtors, Very quiet: my Faith, and my Hope and my Love. Time to pay back my life, so short, so reckless, But all purses fall empty from my helpless hand. Don’t be sad, don’t be woebegone, oh my dear Faith, I am sure many others remain in your debt. And I also will say, with my voice small and gentle, Feeling guilty and kissing her comforting hands: Don’t be sad, don’t be woebegone, oh my mother Hope, I am certain you have other sons on this Earth. I’ll extend to my Love my both palms that are empty, I will hear her penitent voice in my heart: “Don’t be sad, don’t be woebegone, I remember, I have given away in your name all I’ve had. But whoever have been, and how many, your lovers, However the heavenly fires burnt you thin, People’s gossip deposited thrice that amount, All your debt has been paid, and by me you get clean.” Clean, so clean, I am rocked by the tide of the sunrise My bed linen’s white flag’s streaming down to the tiles… My three sisters, three wives, my three merciful judges Open credit for me for the very last time…

It's not an old Slavic language. It's in modern Russian. The singer throws stress and accent on the incorrect syllables of words making it sound like some cool gibberish. After listening for a while as a Russian speaker, you can catch what she actually sings about, but it throws you off at first.

@beats antique - Is there a translation of the lyrics anywhere? A Ukranian friend told me he could pick up on parts about feminine youth, mention of a sparrow and the colour black, and other than that it is too much a dialect he didn't understand.

It's definitely slavic, some kind of "old mix-language" - that is why it's so hard to understand. The second voice is more in Ukrainian. But it's really hard to tell what this song is about, since I don't hear full sentences, just random words -.-

The whole song is sung in Russian. The Ukrainian language is a dialect of the Old Slavic language, which, like the modern Russian language, has undergone changes.

Tatyana Kalmykowa hat diesen Song geschrieben! Weitgehend unbekannt und mit wenig Geld, musste sie diesen Song für weitere Projekte verkaufen! Ihre Konzerte auf VT, wenn man sie findet, sind einfach grandios!

Sometimes comments should be disabled but when you might wanna check to see if there are any lyric translations and scroll through and through people just sharing their thoughts and opinions , albeit positive ones you kinda just shake your head and think 🤔 what is it that Compels someone to write comments on an audio file . No video just a really cool song but I’m already here listening to it so what you think your some music guru or actually think hey I’ll help out by commenting on music that the only way to read is to literally be on the page with the song ??? I don’t get it many of you people should stop commenting on everything like I know this song is good and frankly it’s kind of dumb to just post I love this song it is awesome or anything like that it’s like who the hell cares about your opinion who do you think you are? Instead of playing for sides and returning to be a food critic and whatever the flip people nowadays start thinking themselves into positions get out there and do something for yourself and literally don’t comment on every stupid thing it’s just done here I am looking for lyrics to the song and I can read is this song is good or a nice boys blah blah blah which is good and all but guys like do you really think that this pageShould be completely littered on with the same comments over and over and over but that’s just me whatever
