I've been watching Demon for a long time. His determination and tenacity is admirable but.. He plays his matches like they were practice sparings. Why someone does not tell him to NOT return every ball exactly where his oponent is standing???? Mostly into the middle of the court and then runs from corner to corner like a mad chuck😬. He has got excellent flat backhand he CAN play along the side line and the same applies for forhand but rarely uses them. Why ???????? Whay is his coach not seeing this?? It is sometimes hard to watch. He wastes his energy and gives freely his oponent advantage to run him from side to side. It was so OBVIOUS even in this match even though he somehow won it at the end.

A wonder we‘ve seen dropshots from FAA - except for this, just the usual big serve & constant baseline hitting. Super boring and easy for guys like Dimitrov, Medved, De Minaur with their variety & stamina

FAA always falters when the going gets rough ie in the deciding set. He needs to get over the hump and wins tight matches against tough opponents like ADM.

I wouldn't say it choking, tennis is tough and mentally and tactically you really need to hold your own when it gets tough. very little in between players (not including bad match ups). for sure not having an effective DTL bh affects tactical options for FAA

Here’s a typical FAA service game when it matters: 0-0: Stretching forehand error 0-15: backhand shank 0-30: service winner 15-30: backhand defensive slice goes long 15-40: gets aggressive and draws a forced error with big forehand 30-40: double faults

Auger-Aliassime looks more comfortable on clay. However he was not able to keep it together at the end. Once he solves that momentum issue he will be a problem on clay.

Nice first set from Felix, but De Minaur is the overall better player here!! Congrats for the comeback and win!🎉🎉💪🎾

I still claim that FAA is playing much better and gets closer and closer to top 10 level Looking forward to the second part of the season

FAA is like an extreme version of Dimitrov, 100 points for technique, plays the most beautiful points and highlights of the game, but always throws away the match

That's a great summary of FAA. Even dimitrov is much grittier than FAA. Has Toni Nadal given up on FAA?

Unfortunately FAA is not mentally at the level of his technique or physique. Not sure if there is a realistic way for him to improve since a big part of it is innate.

Of all the baseline bots, De Minaur is the most baseline and the most bot. In any other era of tennis he would be a top-50 journeyman

That "pusher" would hit the balls past you so fast you wouldn't have a chance to touch most of them.
