My favorite

know this railway so well. About 110 miles from me so used to leave home very early, like 5am to get there and set up for the first train of a gala. Gone now but went on the dining train and stayed at The Berwyn Hotel. Wonderful weekends and days, Wish I could still do it. You p[produce good video's for which I thank you

Many thanks Keith, glad you enjoy them. I'm only 40 miles away, so one of my favorite railways, and definitely my favourite for the scenery. Sad that we can't do what we used to do, but at least we have the great memories, and KZread now.

Got to say Phil it looks like youv'e had a great day out, great that the railway has got going again, nice day for it, more than i can say for the young man ploughing, not strait and true at all 🤣 nice bonus from Harry too, cheers Steve .😎

Many thanks Steve, it was a great day! Haha, I had to include that ploughing. Probably "the best" I have ever seen, but I know how easy a small kink, can soon turn into a big one if you don't correct it early. 👍

Hi guys, as I live in Wrexham I know the line well we`re lucky to have it also great to see the 56xx(Taffy Tank) working, there was a couple of them on shed at Wrexham so they may have worked the line on the odd goods duties?, well done Harry keep it up.

Certainly is Paul! 😀. Not long, and certainly at alot younger age, than when I did. 😀

It's always struck me as such a shame that this railway has no junction with the national rail network at Ruabon. Apparently the old trackbed has been built on in several places and the business case for such an extension is weak. Present finances of the Llangollen Railway are parlous too - which hopefully can be ameliorated with a busy 2022 season. Go and visit it - it's a lovely day out!

It is a shame it's not mainline connected at Ruabon, but after thier recent financial troubles, it's just great to see them up and running again, and trying to maintain what is already there.

You're a really useful engine.

Great video and superb loco - credit to all.

Another good video, well done both of you. It was good to see the loco with the proper Croes Newydd shed code plate, it made it more authentic. I was living with my grandparents in the 60s when my grandfather retired after 45 years at said depot. It brought back so many memories, must pay the railway another visit now I, too, have retired.

Certainly is Mike. One of my nearest and favourites. Hope its not too long before they can get another gala together.

This is probably not the right place to gripe but I put forward a financial offer to the Llr on an ongoing basis but they turned me down. It demonstrates how this line was being operated and at the same time how close it came to being shut down and abandoned. Reports have reached us of surly staff which is something we don’t want to encounter at any heritage railway. Many years ago, I volunteered on a small, private railway somewhere in the UK. Imagine my horror when I was treated with the greatest contempt and rudeness by one permanent employee. I had to restrain myself from clipping it behind the ear, it was that close. Isn’t that an awful shame?

Probably the generally duff coal everyone is having to make do with. Either it doesn’t generate steam, or it’s so dusty you incinerate the countryside as you go along.
