“Never Been To Spain”, “Black and White”, “Joy To The World” and “Old Fashioned Love Song” are some Three Dog Night classics.

Hoyt Axton actually gave Never Been To Spain to TDN because he was a close personal friend of Corey.
Huge Rabbit Hole. Three Dog Night is FFFIIIIIRRRREE! Black n White song next. Then Joy to the World. Peace out patrick
Saw these guys in’82 just super and nostalgic as ever… Great music and one of my faves. 3 great voices and a super band to boot!
One of their crazier songs, ha, my personal faves are Shambala, Eli's Coming, and One (is the loneliest number).

One (is the loneliest number) is yet another cover song by them. Nielsen wrote and performed the original in ‘68

Yeah - I love this one.. it's actually written by Randy Newman.. which explains a bit of the "wacky-ness" - he is genius...
these guys were a hit machine between 1969 to 1974. One and Easy To Be Hard are two more great songs.

YES, at one point they were outselling the Beatles.
I really appreciate two things you do: put the Artist on full screen and you in the corner, and you don't stop the song or comment over the Artist. Keeping the Artist front and center, that's the way to show your respect!
Chod, You're head bobbing side-to-side showed how much you liked it!! You'll love their "Joy To The World", "Shambala", "Black And White", "Old Fashioned Love Song" and many more. 3 Great singers harmonizing, I miss that!!

Never Been to Spain
👏👏👏👏👏 They were just the sound of the 70"s
"Three Dog Night" is a killer choice! This tune show's an unusal side of them. "Shambala" is a very good one by these guys.

Got to do Shambala.
Platforms were REAL popular in the 70s. “Jesus hair and afros” - LOVE IT.
Saw these guys live in Seattle back in 1969 GREAT VOCALS-awesome band !!!!!!!!!! They took the time to let every band member shine-it was amazing- the keyboard player tore it up on the B-3
They had a lot of hits and the three front guys all sang lead in different hit songs. A fun group to watch too. Next songs to try by them "Shambala", "Eli's Coming", "Never Been to Spain" etc... Is there any way to not have ads pop up in the middle of a song?

I use the Adblock Plus extension and I never see ads in KZread videos.
My history with Three Dog Night has been one of "Wait a minute -- that was them too!?". Joy to the World, One is the Loneliest Number, Just an Old Fashioned Love Song, Shambala, ... hit after hit.
Great group from the past. They do one of my all time favorites. "Shambala"
Amazing Funk and vocals Three Dog Night is the shit. Joy to the World as one of my favorites
I am a dude who danced in platform shoes in the '70s; let me tell you, they give out certain leverage. They actually make it easier to do certain things, as long as you have rhythm and balance.
I remember this song when it came out in the summer of 1970, still sounds great these days.
Love 3 Dog Night - awesome!

Must react to "Eli's Coming" from same band, the vocals will blow you away!
The only band with 3 dedicated lead singers. You need to explore this rabbit hole entirely to see the talents of each. I saw them live 1967, had their autographs and they did a fantastic show!
Understanding starts with listening. . I applaud you, sir.
One of my favorite band’s while I was in HS...
I love these guys! Summertime music. Roll your windows down!
Three Dog Night music is in every dating memory I own. You should listen to more of their songs. They’re great!
Three Dog Night was the top group in the country for about a 4 year span, and my favorite group as a pre-teen and young teen. Their first 2 albums “One” and “Suitable For Framing” were the most soulful. Give a listen to their version of “Try A Little Tenderness”. Absolutely amazing! Also give “Celebrate” a listen. The Chicago brass section comes in at the end and takes it home! 😎🎶❤️
Your absolutely right, this band had great vocals and a lot of soul..
You MUST do Black and White! This song came out when I was in the 6th grade, The message is VERY relevant today.
Great song from a great band.
What a great rabbit hole to go down! Eli's Coming is a MUST. The Show Must Go On, Shambala, One, Easy to Be Hard, Out In The Country, Pieces of April.
In the early 1970s TDN were one of the biggest groups in the world. My favorite in my childhood. Multiple hits.
The Dog Night performed at a huge "mini Woodstock"-type concert at the Pocono Raceway in 1972. I remember hearing them bust out into "Joy to the World" at 3 a.m. Our cabin was 3 MILES AWAY.
Oh Chod, it does take some skill to walk in those platforms, for sure! I loved seeing guys wearing them, I always felt like they could better understand our (women's) fashion challenges. I miss those days...
Damn! never get tired of hearing this. Thank you!
Only hope you dive in deeper into this group, Chod. It is still cold outside and we can still all use 3 dog nights. Love and peace
So many great Three Dog Night songs to choose from. Joy to the World, Shambala and Family of Man for starters.
This band brings it, live. The audio's every bit as good too. "Out in the Country" by 3DN, is fantastic, with vocal harmonies, and a killer Hammond B3 Organ sound too! Short & sweet pop radio daydream...
They were part of the soundtrack of my childhood. 💕
They were all over the AM radio when I was in middle school.
one of the few bands that had 3 lead singers.
Rabbit hole!! One of the biggest bands of the very late 60's and 70's
All three singers had a number one U.S. song, this one (Cory). Joy to the World (Chuck) and Black and White (Danny). Huge rabbit hole! Enjoy! 🙂♥️
This group is ridiculously talented and they’re hilarious! They had a bunch of hits.
I had friends in college who played this at their wedding. Why aren't these guys in the R&R Hall of Fame? Tis a puzzlement.
This was written by Randy Newman. Incredible song writer. Check his discography and I am quite sure you will surprised to find out how many songs you will know.
'Celebrate', 'Shambala', 'Never Been to Spain' and 'Let Me Serenade You'. The last song in this list might not get many votes, but it will knock you over with the soulful, gospel sound.
Can't remember what I ate for dinner last night but I remember every note, every word, and the name of every band member of that group after 50 years.
You finally got to one of my All-Time Favorite Rock Bands.........Love these guys......heard them in 1968 and fell in love....lol...hahahaha....I want you to listen to "One Man Band(audio)" and "Woman(audio)." Soulful and rough!!!!!
That was the 60's style and we were all rocking platform Shoes and boots
Joy to the world should be next! Shambala is great too. Sooo many goodies!
70’ s funk. There was a lot of it then. Still fantastic music. Black and white is definitely a must.
This group was one of my favorites Chod! I hope you really dig deep into their hits. They were one of the few to have 3 lead singers and best viewed live to catch their fun personalities. 😉 Enjoy!
Three Dog Night - Shambala - Old Fashioned Love Song - The Show must go on
I was not a big Three Dog Night fan until I was talked into going to one of their concerts in the mid 70's. They won me over, because they put on one helluva of a show. Please check out never Been to Spain...awesome song!!
Oh my Chod, you have hit on one of my favorite groups from day 1 of hearing them. And yes, they did sound just as good live with those great harmonies. Please try One, Easy To Be Hard, Eli's Coming, Black and White or Joy To The World just to name a few. Thanks for Three Dog Night.
One of the best vocal bands of all time. They had 3 lead vocalists, all of them great!
Liar, Circle For a Landing, Shambala, Joy To the World, Never Been to Spain, Eli's Coming, One....Deep Deep catalog from possibly the BEST COVER BAND ever. They had a way of taking deep tracks form other artists and making them their own and putting them on the charts.
Aww the rabbit hole of Three Dog Night,so many hit's.Shambla,Family of Man,Never been to Spain!
Love Three Dog Night! Great band!
Three Dog Night was a super-group with a boatload of hits. Too many to name, and lots of them have been mentioned by others. I request Easy To Be Hard. The vocal is amazing, but even more so because it was one take... one and done. Wow!
I went to Mormon college in Idaho in the 90s, and the director of our 'pop band' that played for the school dances was the arranger for 3 Dog Night in their early days (musical arrangements, harmonies, etc). He left the group when he realised they were 'into drugs' (which I guess took him a year or two because he was a midwestern mormon) but he was a really cool guy :)
All of 3 dog nights live shows are always fantastic
Their band was great. The guitars, drums , keys and bass. awesome players
Australians, in which it was explained that on cold nights they would customarily sleep in a hole in the ground while embracing a dingo, a native species of wild dog. On colder nights they would sleep with two dogs and, if the night were freezing, it was a "three dog night".
My friend and I were 15 or 16 and saw these guys with The Beach Boys. What an eye opening experience. OMG!
They always say: If you remember the 70's you weren't really there!
First concert I ever went to, 1973, Columbia Colosseum, South Carolina. Wow. Thanks!
3 Dog Night killed it in the seventies. The 3 part harmony of Danny, Chuck and Cory is what set them apart from other groups back then. They had a ton of hits one after another. You got yourself a challenge to get through them now! They sound just about the same live as they did in the studio. And yes platforms were a bit tricky to move in.
Oh, you are rocking them out today, Chod. Another great one!
This band was popular when I was a teenager. “One” 👍
The first 9 songs are my favorites: "EASY TO BE HARD " "ONE" "AN OLD FASHIONED LOVE SONG" "OUT IN THE COUNTRY" "BLACK AND WHITE"- Originally written in 1954 (with different lyrics) to celebrate the US Supreme Court ruling for Brown vs The Board of Education (Separate is not equal). "SHAMBALA" "LIAR" "THE SHOW MUST GO ON" "NEVER BEEN TO SPAIN" "TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS"-Otis Redding cover. "CELEBRATE" "JOY TO THE WORLD" "FAMILY OF MAN'
😢Check out the EAGLES, with Hotel California!! BEST ROCK GROUP OF ALL TIME!! Saw them Live in AL, in 1977. 21,000 lighters up in Coliseum!! HIGHT LIGHT OF MY LIFE!!
I LOVE Three Dog Night! So many faves- Shambala(the first 45 I ever bought), Black and White, this one, Celebrate, Liar, Out In the Country, One, Old Fashioned Love Song, Joy To The World (2nd grade hanging upside down from the monkey bars singing Jeremiah was a bullfrog at the top of my lungs having NO IDEA what the verses I was singing meant) and my most favorite Never Been To Spain. Can't go wrong with Three Dog Night
This is a fantastic group. So many great songs! Ten Years After, I’m Going Home, Alvin Lee is a BEAST in it !!! Please...
Back in the late '70s early '80s? Many of us wore platforms and you learned how to do what you need to do! But dancing in them while drunk could very well result in broken ankles. ☺
Boy, we were slim in the 70's! Made those bell bottoms look gooood.
This was a huge radio hit back in the day.
So many great 3 dog night tunes. I love "Out in the Country".
The most beautiful song they arranged and recorded IMHO is “Out In The Country”. A must listen! 😎🎶❤️
Listen to their version of "Try a little Tenderness"! The song was written in 1932,...sung by Sinatra, and Bing Crosby, Wilson Pickett...and 100's of others,... it a great version!
So many hits! They have a couple of novelty tunes, this one included. I always thought of them as a blue eyed soul group.
This is a dubbed over live performance, which is crazy because the actual live track that goes with it is just as good.
Saw them perform in Las Vegas 1969 at the Ice Palace. A ice skating rink. At this time rock bands were a rare commodity in Las Vegas.
Nobody's Fault But Mine-Led Zeppelin
Live video, studio version audio. Top selling band of the seventies.
BTW: a 'three dog night' is from the olden days meaning that it was so cold you needed THREE dogs in bed with you to keep you from freezing.
written by the great Randy Newman. :)
Old Fashioned Love Song is great...wrote by Paul Williams, same guy that wrote the Muppet Movie songs and many other hits.
This appears to have had the studio version dubbed over them performing (not live), which is GREAT! I love these guys and they had so many hits, this song and Eli’s Comin’ are my favorites.
One of my favorite songs
Oooh, you’re really gonna like them. Let’s go!
WOW when I saw them in75 they played this way gritterey
Great band... my first concert!!!
Check out the live performance of “Eli’s Coming” (Midnight Special) from this group - there is a lot of soul in that performance.

love it
They did "Try a Little Tenderness" cover of Otis Redding's song. VERY soulful (both versions)!
founding members consisting of vocalists Danny Hutton, Cory Wells, and Chuck Negron. all three sing lead
I loved this song as a kid!!
That about sums it up for partying in the 70's!
elis coming live is incredible
Their best song by far, is Out In The Country, totally different!
Oh ya one of my faves. So so talented. Try A Little Tenderness is BADASS
People talk about artist years ago that started crossing over from the genres they started in it was unusual and alarming because fans kept them and they themselves stayed in their genres. But these artists not only had crossover hits but they crossed over with what they did in the group in the way of singing and playing instruments. Everybody could do everything. The three singers at the front were all fathered lead singers and they didn’t fight about it. The one in the middle here is lead singer, but you can certainly tell the other two are just as loud as the lead singer and filling in spaces with their vocals. These were not the supremes where everybody had a lane and were expected to stay in it al three of this trio sung lead. It’s so obvious here and throughout their history.
