This rider is short...lets be a giraffe for bridling and spin around for saddling... That sounds good.
They should of named it Annoying Green Horse Habits, not all horses that do these are young ;) How about an episode on Annoying Young Rider Habits and coaching them to not do it?

I've had a seven year old mare for a week now, and the previous owners of her said she was bad at standing still. I have used every opportunity to get her to stop and stand still until she is told to move. And in just one week she has gotten extremely much better. When she moves, I say "no" and move her back. Also, she must stand longer if she moves. When she's good, I say "good girl" and scratch her under the forelock. She went from spinning around in the stables when I brushed her, and now I can braid the whole mane without her moving a muscle. Everything from positive experiences for her. She is also obsessed with looking at things. She doesn't react in any other way than just looking, and she is allowed to see. If she is skeptical of anything I take into the stable, or anything outside, I let her look and/or smell it, and then she just don't care anymore.
my pony is 20 and he still dose all of these

How have I never seen this channel before? This was actually a way better vid than I expected - very helpful! A friend has a hard to bridle greeny right now, and my horse is a pain to mount because he always swings his ass out if you go about it too quickly. I'm going now to check out the other videos, thanks for making this one!

my 10 yr old QH never learned to stand at the mounting block or while mounting from the ground. he's terrible but we work on it all the time and he's getting better! thanks for the tips!
This channel is so good that I actually feel BAD that I didn't know about it sooner.
Love all your videos! You guys are kind and fun! your horses look happy and healthy like you guys...
I love how patient and gentle he is! It's amazing to watch!
Awesome tips guys! The bridle one will help me, my 5yr old Quarter Horse has started a habbit of holding his head high, never thought to turn his head.
I love how kind you are to your horses .

Guys, I just have to say that you are amazing. This video, and all the others, really helped me with some troubles. Thank you!
Beautiful horses. The beginning of the video was sooo comical! Hahahahahaha!!! I like how you take your time working with them and you're not being forceful and pushy.
I love the first 2 horse colors so much oml. The second tip helps a lot! The horse I ride isn't that young anymore (19) but keeps doing this. x)
I love this guy's style, very gentle and confident.
What a great channel you have here. Really useful information and well presented
I love your videos. Super practical tips and great horsemanship. Plus the episodes are super funny
Thank you for the video! Good job!
Love the channel! Great work
When I go to get on a green horse that is moving, I hold my foot in the stirrup, but I have their head bent around to the side so all the further they can go is in a circle. Once they stop, I take my foot out of the stirrup and try again. I do this until the horse is standing. Not only that, but I always tell them "Whoa". That's the word EVERY horse should know, and it should mean plant all four feet. It's a livesaver, trust me. And of course, when the horse is standing still, I get on, but after I get my other foot in the other stirrup, I immediately start bending their head from left to right. This teaches them that even though I get on, it doesn't mean they go right away. Eventually they will just stand wherever I put them, whether it be a mounting block, a ditch, or flat ground. If you have a horse that likes to take off when they get turned loose in the pasture, there is a much more effective way to teach them not to run off. First, you bend the horse's head towards you. You can take the halter off the nose, but keep it around the neck and keep the head tilted towards you. Then, when YOU are ready to turn the horse loose, take the halter completely off and YOU walk away from the horse. The horse will then learn that it doesn't have to run off. If you let the horse walk away from you, this will also pose a problem later on for catching the horse. When you walk away from the horse first, you are taking the pressure off the horse first instead of the horse taking pressure off itself and running off.
This really helped. Thank you. He will finally not move when I mount!
Teaching a horse to stand still or to be bridled or anything really....using positive reinforcement is a great way to go. Using clicker training in combination with very gentle natural horsemanship always works and horses just love it. I train horses for years this way and never had a horse fail.
0:34 Meant to Live by switchfoot. love that song. and the video is hilariously correct.😂
Thanks Evention! Great episode!
I love that on number two when he would move you are really patient also with the first one patients is key
I'm learning so much from your videos! You're awesome!
That was so helpful! Three of the horses at my barn do exactly the same things!!
That was the best horse training video ever so helpful thank you so much
Great tips my horse does the same thing with the mounting block but as soon as I mounted with out the block he never mooved a inch
So good! You should have way more subscribers!! :)
Guys, i love your chanell so much! Thaks for the advises, they are relly helpfull! I have a typical pony problem - when I trying to put a briddle on, he is not "accepting" the bit. Like ignoring it and it is impossible to open his mouth without applying a finger. Can someone plz help me???
This helped so much! Thanks
That intro though 😍
Haha the intro is really funny! Great tips!
Very helpful!
Great tips!
I love the intro thank you for making this Chanel it's helped me sooo much
When I got my mare she had issues with when I let her out she would immediately turn and go so I taught her to stand until I said "go on" by telling her stand when I unclipped the lead rope and if she went to move I grabbed her and said "stand" until she stayed still for a bit then I let her go. Now she waits until I say go on and even sometimes after I say go on she'll even hesitate to go to make sure she really is allowed to go. I really like these tips ill definitely try the mounting one because she's done that before too :)
thanks for the tips
My gelding starts to move off before I get on and refuses to stand in front of the mounting block on occasion. I can't get on from the ground sometimes because he starts moving off. He's been kind of spoiled by his last owner, so we're working on it. He's a good boy though, with a very level head.
THANK YOU... SO.. MUCH!
my young horse does almost everything of this😂🌸♥

That tip was so useful thank you
Thank you so much! I have a baby (4 year old OTTB) and sometimes, he doesn't like to cooperate with me. Thank you for showing me these tips! I'll gladly use them :)
my OTTB mare, who I've only ridden about 15-20 times has the opposite bit problem! She practically launches for the bridle!! Oh, the magic of a copper bit! She LOVES the bit! Its just a simple big Dee ring, with nice thick bars, double jointed with a copper lozenge. all I do to bridle her is drop the halter around her neck (USPC member!!), put the reins over her head, and hold the top of the crown piece, she grabs the bit, and all I have to do is adjust the straps and fasten them! Love her!
Your videos are awesome. :)
What's that song? And I also have a gelding named Romo he is very stubborn on the bridle so this helped alot!
really enjoying ur videos...
could u do a vid on how to steer in canter when I go up to my Thursday lesson we would regularly canter but my horses always do half the arena and an you the horses have dead mouthes where I am and it's so hard to steer!
Thank you. Dr.S.C.Bose
Love you guys!
Thx for the video I will have to work on it with my new mare
I love how I can relate to only one of these with my 3 y/o. I started his training about 2 months ago and he's never walked off when I tried mounting and he always waits for me to give him a hug before he takes off in the field XD

I have a three year old as well he is at a trainer to be broke but he always waits for me u to I tell him he was good and to tell him ok you can go
My horse becoms a bit agressive when mounting or being taller then him. He walks off and turns his head to my hand like if he was going to bite me. This only happens when i try to keep him still or when i just go on, he takes a few steps but doesnt have that tiny agression. I know the " abression" isnt that much but ya, have any tips? (He's an ex-race horse so i think he had been broke only for the track money which they didnt take enough time to train him)
Very very useful!! Thank you :)
you should do a how to video for horses who are constantly un-accepting/chomping on the bit!
My horse does all three of these things! Thank you so much!
could u guys post a video on working to get a good top line and a bending video?? Please!! Need help!! Thanks :)
have you any advice that will help me to get my young horse going forward in the school he is fine riding out but naughty bucking/rearing when asked to go forward even in walk in the school I have tried back to basics and spent weeks lunging with side reigns long reigning ect and the moment I sat on his back we hit the same problem. I cant see he has any back issues as surely he would protest when being ridden out and he seems happy to do this. very disheartened please can you help.
My 3 yr old does 2 off those at the moment, so off to the paddock to have a go 👍
My horse does that thing where he moves after i get on him, but when i first got him he use to just take off because he hated to stand still. He still walks off after i get on him, but he doesn't take off at a quick pace like he does. Although i am going to have to fix it because i can never get my feet in the stirrups quick enough. Thanks for the video! :)
Hi Evention Tv could you plz do a video on how to stop your horse running away from you in the stable when you are trying to tack them up. My 12 year old mare has a big problem with this the only way I am able to get the bridle on her is by using a treat. PLEASE HELP...!!!
ahaha i have that mounting block problem with my pony, thanks for the tips, I'll try them out and take my time with it
Thx evention ur life savers xxx
Great edit
Oh my gosh! thank you for the Tick Tip! I would've never thought to look through the tail. Gosh, I love you guys. Hahaha!! :)
the grey horse in the first annoying habit is so pretty!
ROFL! The intro is *totally* life with my yearling right now!! Thank you for understanding! :-D
love the song in the beginning
helped alot Any tips on how to stop your horse drifting when galloping mine does it till shes at the other side of the feild ??
Great tips! A bit of a further an long thing, but my young horse is learning to work in an outline and he favorite thing to do is put all of her weight in my hands and try to get me to carry the weight of her head around. If I try and push her forwards properly into my hands, she just moves faster -- it has made her become very rein dependent and is giving me blisters! I've had people tell me to "drop her on her head" and do LOTS of transitions -- and I've tried both but neither is helping :S
My 5yr old boy is great, stands still for his bridle, doesn't charge off in the field, but he's a nightmare to mount as he either shoots backwards when I take my reins standing on the block, or trots off the second I get on him! Oh well, thanks for the great tip, we'll get to training ;)
can you do some more tips on jumping. i am going to learn about jumping soon and would love to know the basics! also loved your video on tips at a show. could you do more tips for how to prepare yourself and your horse for a show? thanks!
I love the horse you ride at the start of your intro

your channel is why I check my subscription box : )
is there a difference between front and back brushing boots? Xxx
I love the song, and the whole intro
My pony used to swing her hindquarters but we sorted it out by getting someone to stand at her side and keep pressure on the girth. Like an inside leg. Then when she stand still give her a little treat. She stands perfectly now!
this video really helped me alot
What about not being able to be caught? I love your videos, they help a lot !
A tip with the bridle is to put a bit of black treacle on the Bit and that way the horse will associate it with something really yummy and will eventually stop throwing their head about! worked really well with a 19'2 hands I know! x
Good advice :)
Such an amazing rider. wow
What kind of horse is the gelding you used in the mounting exercise? He is so cute!
I have a 2 year old quarter horse who when I first got her she just nibbled but nibbles soon turned to bites. She chews on just about anything and I have no clue what to do to get her to stop. Any suggestions?
Right on key, man! idk why it made me laugh so hard😂

I love your name
My boy jist literally plants his feet and stops dead when I try to lead him around the yard tried using crops chasing him but it only works temporarily any tips (obvs only tapped him with the crop don’t want to full on blast him as that never works lol)
For problem #3: I always put the rope around the horse's neck before pulling the halter off so I can use the rope to hang onto the horse if he tries to take off. I find I have a better grip on the rope than I would on the unbuckled halter -- especially since I'm 5'3" and my guy is 16.3. All he'd have to do is raise his head a little to make me lose my grip on an unbuckled halter strap! Plus, that way my horse is learning what I want him to do when I take the halter off in the ordinary (easier) way, instead of setting us up to always have to take it off by the buckle. Most importantly, he always gets a treat after the halter comes off. He has no interest in running off because he wants to know what I have in my pocket for him :D
I need help with my young green broke mare. She is a very naughty little thing, and when I go to take off the clips on the wash rack and put on her bridle, she will either back way up until she is off the wash rack or she will immediately move away from me and begin to graze, and pays no mind when I try to pull her head up. She is extremely impatient and rather rude, and I have gotten onto her about a lot of things so far, but this in particular is becoming a real challenge for us. It's really dangerous, too! Any tips? p.s I loooove this channel!
This is the definition on my horse. 😂❤️🐴
