    I don't think many people could afford all those collectables. They aren't cheap, some go for very high prices. I would imagine the total for all the collectables in the video is a small fortune. Costing more than the AV equipment. But yeah take away all the collectables. And it's a more attainable home theatre for many people.

    no offense to the giant ridiculous home theaters(i love to dream) but these are so much more relatable to me and probably the majority of theater enthusiast , appreciated, i love how these little home theaters have so much character, like me, this guy uses a smallil room as an adult playground, shows that you dont need black felt walls, ceilings etc, my wall and ceiling are completely covered in faux greenery to create a jungle atmosphere and to me the originality is sometimes better than ugly slight av improvements. Thanks for the video

    Hi Youthman, I’ve been wanting to have a dedicated Home Theater in my Basement for years but my wife won’t have it. So I took a spare bedroom which measures only 12x13x8 feet. I have a 65 inch DLP. For front Left and Right are Polk Audio 11t, Two Velodye Subwoofers One is an 8 inch the other is 10 inch speaker. For the rears I have Polk Audio bookshelf speakers and in the ceiling Polk Audio. I want to do a Atmos setup. My plan is to purchase Onkyo Rz50 9.2.4 along with Emotivo A6. But I’m not sure the best way to set it up. Have the Emotivo for the subs and Atmos and front stage on the RZ50. Not really sure how to connect. Any advise?

  • @Youthman

    @Youthman

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kevin, IMO, the A6 would be great for powering 6 Atmos speakers. I would consider the A5 and power your front LCR and side surrounds. Or if you have a 7.1 setup, get the A7 and power your front LCR, side and back surrounds. The A6 is going to leave you with an extra channel as your front LCR will take up 3 of those channels leaving you with an uneven amount of channels available to power other speakers. Hope that helps.

    @@Youthman I saw one of your earlier videos where you started out with a Budget friendly set up and with the buy and sell and trades your system grew into what you have now. All of my speakers are what I had since 1975 , when we got married. Then it was for music quadraphonic sound everyone was listening to. And since people have for the most part stop going to the movie theaters for safety reasons, the Home Theater business is BOOMING. I will be changing speakers a little at a time. I'm probably the only one that feels this way.... but I feel like these tours are getting away from "the theater" and more of the home owners collectables and interests. Kansas City tours was all about the theater and the gear with a brief overview of the space and I loved that series. But to honest I had a hard time watching the last two Florida tours with so much focus on football memorabilia and collectables figures in a kitchen. Again... it's probably just me but I wanted to share, you are a great dude Michael and I appreciate all the home theater info you supply us with! I'm currently working on my 1100sq ft low budget man cave theater above my garage and have an unfinished basement that will have a designated room planned for an official (JTR) theater coming in the future. Maybe once they done I'll make the Georgia theater tour list. Thanks for listening.

    I CERTAINLY appreciate you sharing your thoughts and feedback Don. I'm all for constructive criticism because that's what has allowed me to improve my content over the last 4 years. The reality is I will never be able to please everyone, no matter what video I post. If you try and please everyone, you'll end up pleasing no one. :) During the Wisconsin/Illinois Tour, I filmed 12 Home Theaters in 4 days (yeah, that was insane). Because of filming 3-4 per day, I was behind the camera the entire time, and the homeowner gave the tour and gave the outro for the video. I received comments saying they would like to have seen me in the video. Kansas City Tour, I filmed 9 in 4 days (better schedule) which allowed me to sit down with the homeowner and hear their story and their journey. These videos were my first attempt at long form video and frankly I was concerned that the videos would be too long and my audience wouldn't enjoy them. TONS of feedback said they loved the long form video because they got to hear the how and the why behind the decisions each homeowner made. But many said they missed the "tour" aspect of it. I then polled my audience to see how I could make the Tours better. The vast majority said they would love to see the tour, then have a sit down with the homeowner to hear their journey, what have they learned, what would they do differently etc. So that is the format for the Florida Home Theater Tour. Don't get me wrong, the gear is cool. I get excited about speakers, amplifiers and subwoofers. But the reality is we can see that on the manufacturer's website. What really fascinates me is the personal aspect of them. We are relational beings. I want to use my platform to allow passionate Home Theater Enthusiasts to share their story and their Home Theater Journey. If that means sharing their statues, or record collection, or their obsession with velvet, then so be it. Also, I started the Home Theater Tours 5 years ago. Many content creators on KZread are now doing them (which is awesome). I believe my tours offer a completely unique perspective than what other content creators are doing. I have over 20 Home Theaters on the Florida Home Theater Tour. You have already seen the "themed" ones (Harry Potter, Noles and Movie Collectibles). Thanks again and have a blessed weekend! PS. "Low budget" and "JTR" do not typically sentence. LOL. Definitely submit yours when you are finished and we will see if we can make it happen. Michael

    @@Youthman Thanks for the reply, I completely understand not being able to please everyone, you gotta do what makes you happy and what you feel is making the majority happy. I look forward to checking out the remaining FL tours in the near future. Oh and the low budget theater is above my garage in the "man cave"... the dream JTR set up is planned for the future in the basement. Nothing low budget about JTR! Have a great day!

    I really appreciate this family having fun, but for me personally I like to have just one room that is my home theater space and the rest of my house be "normal". If that brown door to the right of the screen is really his front door, another thing I would do is move the equipment to the back of the room and get some on-wall speakers and lower profile subwoofers that way you're not walking into all that and the front of the room is cleaner.
