I love it

Thrawn is a special character for me, because it was through his books that me and my grandma could bond over star wars. My grandma is very important to me, almost like another mother. I remember when I used to read to her, and how we would enjoy listening to the audio books together. She doesn't live in the same state anymore, but I will be visiting her in November, so I'm going to take Thrawn audiobooks so that we can share more memories. Thank you Zahn, for creating such an iconic character! You brought people together!

I was actually sad when these books were over. They were so great

Along with being the first Star wars character i i knew, he is also soo special to me because he got me interested in philosophy, stoicism, psychology and appreciating the military structure. He is such a role model to me and i always (try to lol) embody his sense of collectiveness and calm composure.

Thrawn is the only villain I would respect

The greatest character in all of Star Wars Legends. So great and beloved by fans was he that they brought him back in canon and did it correctly. The Chiss are the greatest species in Star Wars, and Thrawn is their best poster character to showcase just how legendary they all are.

No wonder Thrawn was completely unfazed by all the Imperial Court Martials, answering to the top brass about his actions was probably old hat by this point in his life.

In the Ahsoka trailer Thrawn hasn't aged much in the next ten years of Rebels and he is 68 for Ahsoka's series. Perhaps the Chiss of canon continuity has a longer lifespan than a human.

I’ve been waiting for this since you made this chiss video, my favorite star wars race, and my favorite character. Im even listening to the Ascendancy trilogy and original thrawn trilogy again. The craziest part is im at the same part of the third book, where you ended the video. As one trained in the Force, you know true coincidences are rare.

2:00 One tiny correction: Thrawn's sister Vurika was 5 when she was 'volunteered' into the SkyWalker corps; it was Vurawn/Thrawn who was 3. He barely remembers her, and she doesn't remember her birth family at all; as part of her training, her memories were removed.

Thrawn is one of my favourite characters in Star Wars.

I didn't like how Disney Muskify Grand Admiral Thrawn.

I know he’s the bad guy but damn do I love Grand Admiral Trawn

I'm currently in a Star Wars RPG campaign where Thrass is in our party! We work for a crime lord on a recently Empire-occupied mid-rim system (called Caturn, lol) and occasionally work with a rebel cell and smugglers. My character, a highly skilled Twi'lek pilot and hacker and Thrass can't stand each other for obvious reasons but respect each other's abilities. His intelligence and charisma and my pilot skills combined have saved our asses numerous times!

Two things I think about cannon Thrawn. 1. He is on the autism spectrum (though this does not translate very well in Rebels and Ahsoka). 2. He has a small crush on Ar'alani but they’re too career oriented to do anything about it.

And I’m trying to make cannon thrawn and legends thrawn match up on this timeline reading order I’m doing with a bunch of books I’ve got. Idk if it’ll work but I’m gonna try it. Where do all of the Chiss visuals come from? Is there a visual guide to associated with these books that I'm unaware of?

There's truly so much lore and the star wars universe is so big they should be able to make some phenomenal shows/movies but sadly most of us have been disappointed in alot of the stuff Disney has put out let's hope season 2 of ashoka will be great season 1 definitely had it's moments but also had its problems. I loved thrawn though

If you want the one that happened first it would be Thrawn ascendency

I believe Thrawn's sister was 5 when she went to be trained as a sky-walker. Thrawn was 3 at the time.

The original Thrawn Trilogy saved SW for many people. Back in those days the SW comics and books were honestly crap, then boom Heir of the Empire came out and it showed that Sci-Fi and SW could go together and excel.

Will this be revisited with the release of Ashoka? Feel like more changes will be made and added to Thrawn’s history in the Star Wars disney lore. Greetings from France

I don't think so. I think their job is to defend the Chiss while finding new colonies to settle. Also remember that the Chiss do not conduct preemptive strikes or wars of aggression.

We'll listened to them all, and this is canon. There are like 100 hours of audiobooks just in canon, of course there is a ton of simplification for pacing and to keep it around 40 mins

I love your videos, but my guy… the pronunciation of the names & planets is a weeeeeeeee bit off lol. Regardless, I’ve been waiting for this video for a very, very long time. Thrawn is by far, my favorite character in all of Star Wars. Even more than Darth Bane.

​@@MetaNerdzLore well, does this a commercial use? AI gernerated pics are a composes of each different artist's works that has been pulled from all over the internet. Which most of the time creates a problem of plagiarism or self proclaim "artist" by an AI users. Don't get me wrong, I do understand your intention and purpose for using them. But it is still potentially a bad influence use these images and disregard of the creators who some been put into the bad position by those who exploit them to gained profits out of their art and identity. I've follow you long enough to be sure that you do understand tfw a creator is being exploit. I'm sure there're plenty more ways to have a cover art for these vids like many vids you've made before, though yeah it'd be harder to get more stuff for Thrawn in particular since you mentioned that it will take up to 6 parts. That some work man! Still have to appreciate that part. I hope that clears up why us artists are againts the use of AI generated, yes there're a good use out of them, just most people who use them are seek to exploit us and deemed it as what people could or should be doing. Like fr they went through drive thru, ordered a meal for a while then proceed to call themselves a chef after come out with a meal XDD

I get it but Star Wars and the book author gotta think this too. All commentary on existing lore is worse by that standard and in this case, the author, George Lucas and all the Disney employees have more claim. I get the idea but I think at the core it is just that it sucks that we know that there is no good way for tons of important things to be properly monitozed. And if it makes you feel better I actually think like chat gpt, the more people play with these ai things the more they will appreciate working with people. Like people that aren't using this for any real purpose and it is just trendy to talk about can see some cool images, but it is so annoying to work with and almost never gave me what I was envisioning. So anyone with a budget would still have to go with a human artist, and anyone without a budget wasn't going to pay an artist anyways. The ship battle scenes in this series are a great example of it, they may look coolish when you don't really look at the detail but are chaotic nonsense. I get the concern of course and hope you know what I mean.

The pronunciation is quite difficult if you read the books rather than listening to them, which is what I thought you'd done (even tho I know you love your audiobooks haha). Most of the names are actually off according to audible. There's even a joke about it when Thrawn meets Skywalker, and Skywalker can't get his name right. But maybe It's just me. Definitely silly haha, the video is still if great quality, as always 😁

​@@MetaNerdzLore so in the next two episodes i think the biggest one is Che'ri. According to the audio book it's pronounced like "Cheery" instead of Sherry. The first A in Thalias is pronounced like the A in Alien. The Cs in Csilla is pronounced the the Ch in Chiss. So it would be Chilla. Little bits like that really. There's a few more but the problem I have is i can't spell them as I've listened to the book, not read it 😅 Again, this is just how they say it in the audiobook. Maybe there are other sources that pronounce things differently. Can't wait for part 4 tho! 😁
