    @billhicks6449

    2 жыл бұрын

    Its tough to express as a guy, but she really had an effect on me as well. I heard little Earthquakes for the first time I was 14. I came from a totally destroyed home, drugs, abuse, etc. I had been recruited to a high school for my athletic ability (though I was very smart as well). Add on I never had a mother (she died in childbirth in 1980). She was the first female that ever spoke to me on a real level. When she sang "First my left foot then my right behind the other" I felt like an angel was out there and understood how it all seemed so fake and how lightly I had to tread. Of course she wasn't talking about my situation, but someone out there was seeing it in their own way too. That empowered me to follow my heart.. not to mention everything else she wrote. Within 2 years I'd quit all the nonsense and transferred to an art school. I found myself and though I never got famous or made a million dollars, I learned to love myself. And it wouldn't have happened without Tori.

    Some people seem to deserve their success. Seriously. What pleasant people. Humble even, lovely. I am impressed. Intelligent, modest, truly talented. So nice to watch this.

    This is much more fascinating than I thought it would be. Great spent hour and really honest conversation between smart people.

    Tori is so mesmerizing. She's always writing lyrics, even when she's not writing a song but just verbally communicating. She's an angel. If I ever met one, I wouldn't know any difference.

    Ok, JT you need to let others talk. Tori and Sting, would've loved to hear more from both of them!

    How do you expect brilliant songwriters to be compelled to say anything at all, when the questions are so stupid and one-dimensional? A real shame of an amazing opportunity....! ;(

    I recognize all of them, I've been moved by each of their genius, but I will say quietly - without inviting debate - I came to this page to witness and hear Tori Amos speak. (wish more was said on her behalf- but HER silent yet generous witnessing spoke volumes) I believe the depth and commitment of her ministry to music as a transformative and divinely inspired "thang" is un-paralleled. For me she is the high priestess here. neway.... that's all I'll say.
