The other night I had a dream It was a world full of kings and queens But it was cold Dark as the night We were the fire under moonlit skies We were divided We were the same And we were free But we all wore chains We couldn't see it But we created A place between truth and overrated If I could just see it all Just like a fly on the wall Would I be able to accept what I can't control? And would I share what I saw? Or just sit back and ignore Like nothing never happened Haven't seen you before? I'm on the run from the thief I let into my head I know, I hold the keys So don't be scared When I turn and shout I don't think I need you anymore Take your words, and your lies And just beat it I don't think I need you anymore Take the hurt, and the pain I don't need it I wanna live, I wanna be the change We can all be kings and queens If we can just learn to believe We had a plan to build a wall A great divide that would never fall To separate us From all the pain And keep our skeletons locked away And brick by brick We built it so thick That it blacked out the sky and all the sunlight And one by one We all became numb We were making the bullets to a broken gun If I could just see it all Just like a fly on the wall Would I be able to accept what I can't control? And would I share what I saw? Or just sit back and ignore Like nothing never happened Haven't seen you before? I'm on the run from the thief I let into my head I know, I hold the keys So don't be scared When I turn and shout I don't think I need you anymore Take your words, and your lies And just beat it I don't think I need you anymore Take the hurt, and the pain I don't need it I wanna live, I wanna be the change We can all be kings and queens If we can just learn to believe (If we can just learn to believe) I don't think I need you anymore Take your words, and your lies And just beat it I don't think I need you anymore Take the hurt and the pain I don't need it I wanna live, I wanna be the change We can all be kings and queens If we can just learn to believe (If we can just learn to believe)

1:03 is my favorite part. This part makes me think of mental illness/those negative thoughts about yourself that creep into your mind saying that you are worthless, no good, you can't do it, etc. He's saying that he doesn't need that negativity anymore and those inner demons can just beat it. That's how I interpret that part of the song.

Call it cheesy, call it whatever you want, but this song.. It got me through a tough time, I was in a Boys Home, for kids who got taken away from their family for being shitty kids.. and this song, made me wanna change, it was my motivation for being a better person. Today, I've changed so much. And I have TFK to thank.

I grew up listening to this song been listening since around it came out I think. Being raised as a conservative Christian I was sheltered from this type of music so when I finally discovered rock this was one of the first songs I ever listened too. So for me Fly On The Wall fills a significant event in my life . After like a year of not listening to it I stumbled upon it again and realized its tied as my favorite song of all time. It's just so layered in meaning and presented in such a creative manner. I think it was written talking about a relationship but it's presented in such a way you can interpret it anyway the listener would like. This song has kept me from ending it at times helping me through some really difficult times and here it is again right when I needed it. Time to remake myself again with Fly On The Wall as my ever reliable companion. Thank you Thousand Foot Krutch.

Kinda sucks you where sheltered from this kind of rock sense as far as I'm aware thousand foot krutch is a Christian metal band This song can also be interpreted as the singers relationship with the false promises of sin and worldly things ("take your words and your lies and just beat it" "free and yet we all wore chains")

@@jnoinm The lyrics of this song bear beautiful Christian messages. My favorite part of both the message and the melody is: "I don't think I need you anymore! Take your words and your lies and just beat it!" When you sing this, you're telling the devil to leave and take the temptations with him.

If you are interested in any other Christian bands similar to Thousand Foot Krutch then I recommend checking out these artists: 1. Skillet 2. Pillar 3. Red (type the name 'thebandred' to find them) 4. Disciple 5. Flyleaf 6. Spoken 7. Éowyn (type in éowyn singer) 8. Stryper 9. HB 10. The Letter Black 11. P.O.D. 12. Fireflight 13. Since October 14. The Benjamin Gate 15. My Epic 16. Sanctus Real 17. Day of Fire 18. Seventh Day Slumber 19. Kutless 20. FM Static 21. DC Talk Seriously though, there are lots and I mean lots of Christian bands out there. They just don't get any attention simply because they're Christian. To find them you have to do your own research. Christian bands come in almost every genre, ranging from as soft as acoustic to as extreme as slamming brutal deathcore. If you want more bands you're welcome to look at my channel.

My best friend broke up with me two years ago to this day. She hated this song, this genre. Last thing I ever said to her was a video of me playing this and singing the chorus. That one still hurts a ton--I haven't given my heart to anybody since, and am perfectly content to just live alone with my two pets for a long while. I still come back to this song often, it's amazing. And I still tearfully sing it every time, like I did when I took that video. Was it cheesy to do that? Yeah. Do I care? No.

I don't think this song is religious as most think. "If we can all just believe" doesn't mean believe in Gawd, but to believe in a better world without hate and greed. Finding your Utopia. A dream. The lyrics are great and the song is terrific.
