Thoughts on moving out, fears, childhood traumas, and how Russia celebrated the Victory Day

In this video I will tell you how I've been doing these days, about my thesis, how I look at my past and how I feel about my future. I will also take you for a walk in the sunny Khabarovsk and show you how Russia celebrated May 9, the WWII Victory Day. This is a very important holiday, and it was a very strange sight given that now there is still a real war going on.

Natasha - I'm 81 years old and still struggle with trying to get stronger and supress doubts. It's a life-long project. I recall one of your earlier videos where they tried to stop you from shooting a video in a supermarket and you were having none of it and just kept on shooting. I was impressed with how you stood your ground. Don't worry. You are plenty strong and getting stronger, Thanks for this video and good luck with your thesis presentation.

I just think that a lot of those feelings that seem to be weakness or self-doubt are caused by not knowing what lies ahead. Most errors can only seen by looking at the past, but many people are unable to see them at all, or ignore them because they wouldn't know what to do with it. But most errors are good, because they teach what to do different next time.

16:09 kind of hit me in a way. I hate when people say to leave your comfort zone. Why would I want to put myself out there to get hurt? But expanding my comfort zone, slowly, piece by piece really makes sense to me. Thats an approach that I've maybe not considered.

I watch you, Natasha, because you're not acting, you're not pretentious, your videos are not overly scripted, and you're a nice, sensitive, thinking person. It's always nice to listen to somebody like that. Also, I knew next to nothing about Russian far east before and I found your videos presenting the places you live in very interesting. Yes, the whole world is interesting, but I'm Polish, so Russia is our neighbour, and while we have a long and rather unpleasant history of mostly unfriendly co-existence as nations, and it cannot be said that we share much mentality, yet there are many things we do have in common or that we can understand about each other (as nations) better than people from other parts of the world, and the interest to know more always exists. And then there's of course the desire to go beyond the stereotypes and to get to know a person who doesn't fit that stereotype at all, like you. I hope that what I'm saying makes sense, I don't feel like I have my thinking cap on today :D. Anyway, you shouldn't wonder why people watch you -- many people love to have a chance to listen to somebody who is authentic and reflective.

@@peterstringa3350 this isn’t always true imo. Following a singular passion does not guarantee financial independence or success. It could lead to economic hardship. You have to look at what you enjoy and what is in demand. Then try to focus your efforts at some intersection of those two. Money doesn’t solve every problem but it sure does make life a lot easier. Especially in a place like America and I’m sure Europe as well. Once you have enough savings to get over that barrier of just surviving and have enough to start investing that’s when things can get easier. It’s a bit unfair that it’s easier to make money once you already have it, but that’s how it is. When you start with nothing, you have to make good decisions early so they payoff later.

Job variety too less and only in big cities, where there is too much where you have to deal with a lot of competition. Next to that salaries a very low and one needs to have 2 or 3 jobs to be able to survive. Further the contract are not stable. In Europe there are countries where you can do what you want and earn money with that. For example in Italy, Germany, Switzerland or in the Netherlands. And I never said a singular 8 small minded look at what you like to do. It can mean 4 or 10 different things you like or combine it as long you put enjoying in first place and earning on the second place. That is the most important thing. @@peterstringa3350 you don’t have a very accurate image of what America is like. A country of +300M people and largest economy in the world but you think has less variety of jobs? Silly. Needing to work 2 or 3 jobs? Who is this? Maybe some people that live beyond their means. Buy a car they can’t afford. Buy a house they can’t afford. Get themselves into debt and don’t have the skills to really afford the lifestyle they live. That’s on their own personal decisions. Or could be an immigrant with nothing to their name and has to work from 0 to support themselves and family back home. These people exist in Europe too. They may go beneath your notice. From my personal experience, both my parents were immigrants. My father worked a normal 9-5 job. My mother only part jobs. Not making a lot of money but neither worked multiple jobs in my lifetime. We had our own home. They were there to take me to school in the morning and pick me up in the afternoon. I was never alone because they had to slave at a job. I went to college and have worked for many years in a high skill field. Definitely not needing multiple jobs to survive. Other countries might have a better social safety net but the rules of economics don’t change unless it’s a place like Cuba or North Korea. You still have to do something that other people find valuable in order to make money. If your favorite thing is to paint but no one likes your art how will you feed yourself? Even if the government gives you free food and shelter you will have no way to pick yourself up from that station. But if your #2 thing leads to financial independence then you can paint to your hearts desire in your free time….

As an old guy, my advice, which of course I would never follow myself, is to take comfort in how you interact with other people. After we die, our immortality is based on the lives we've led and how we've interacted with others. Concepts like personal strength and knowledge fall by the wayside. I'm not suggesting to always turn the other cheek. Sometimes you gotta fight for what's right. "Love your enemy" is one of my chosen guideposts.

Take care Natasha. As a senior citizen, the fun of "growing up" is things rarely work out as you think they might at the very beginning. My advice is the get in the "happy line". When I was around your age I was looking for work. The unemployment office had a long line of dull and sad people waiting to see if they could find employment when I arrived. Looking over from my line, I saw another line where everyone seemed more happy and upbeat. I did not know what the line was for, but I just got in that line. It turned out to be a government program for supported work experience. I got a job that ended up starting my career working in a program for the rest of my working life. Had I not moved to that line, I have no idea where my journey may have lead. In my thirties, I got a small part in Chorus Line because they needed "guys". I did not know dance at all but rehearsing with the group they were all smiling and happy, so I decided to take ballet lessons. It was one of the best choices I ever made. So look for the happy line and happy people and you will have a happy life. Good luck and best wishes on your journey.

Natasha, the very fact that you self aware enough to ask questions about yourself speaks volumes of good about you. My personal opinion is it is not hardships, or lack thereof that helps one to grow, rather it is how to choose to react to life events that help define us. Looking at it through this lens you can grow just as much in good times as you can through adversity. Edit: I watch your videos because it helps me see the world through the eyes of another culture & country. This helps remind me that people have far more in common than national boundaries can divide.

In fact she is studying Russian; you may be doppelgängers! 😂 Anyway you provide insight and clarity in your own self-reflections and in your observations of others. I remember having similar fears about my career path when I was in college. It’s difficult to decide at 22 what you want to do for the rest of your life. I ended up finding a career I love that has nothing to do with my degree, and I never knew it was even an option when I was your age. I’ve found that a lot of employers require a degree, but it doesn’t necessarily need to be in the same field as the job you want.

Of course there are other cold cities with underground walkways and malls. We might need more of those underground malls as global warming ramps up. Natashia , I'm sorry for the sanctions imposed on your country , these sanctions are the wrong policy , the sanctions are immoral and I hope we remove these sanctions , I am opposed to the policy of sanctions against nations like Iran , Cuba and Russia because these sanctions are the wrong policy , instead of creating a new world order based on trade and globalization , our sanctions have created a world of disorder . I support Joe Biden , I think his a good president but the sanctions on Russia need to be removed , sanctions have achieved nothing for our economy here in America , I don't think Russia is to blame for the war but the war needs to end and we need to remove all sanctions imposed on Russia . Anyways thanks for the video , the videos are great and interesting , hopefully we abandon our wrong and failed polices and we remove sanctions on nations the sell oil and we can have a new world order based on trade . Here in America most people are opposed to sanctions , we don't support the policy of sanctions , one of the reasons I voted for Obama and also for Biden is because they promised to remove sanctions on foreign nations and these sanctions need to be removed , our economy can not afford to play judge , jury and prosecution around the world

My mom is from poland and i grew up in Switzerland. I also have similar struggle's (except the chronic illness ) This year i found out that i have Asperger's and it explained so many things. Thinking of how often i was penalised for things that where outside my control, but those people also didn't know i had this condition, so i cant blame them for that, however what i saw in this is that you apparently only deserve tolerance and compassion when you are a victim of some sort. Humans are so different on the inside yet most are to self-centred to realise this, its also so hard to get this because you learn from adults who have not shown you better but just repeat the same mistake wich turned them into what they hate. As a kid you get so overwhelmed and when people are wrongfully angry with you because they don't have the patience and/or don't get that you learn/understand in a way that is not as common or like thiers. Its like Ignorance and hate passed from generation to generation, so we need to be the ones who don't repeat this with our individual actions .

We are relieved to discover your courage at navigating the current situation as well as your university life, and real life too, and we wish you continued success no matter where life's journey takes you. I'm sure many of us want to meet you in real life (although probably not a good idea) because we are inspired by you, your openness, and your honesty. Many of us are older and respect you much more than your country's leadership who are people our age. You are very wise for your age. You will never be alone as you have fans around the world! Best of luck on completing your thesis and nomading!

This was a fantastic video! It is really interesting to follow your thought process and as a fellow anxoius person, it is not hard to understand how your childhood may have affected your thought process about yourself. But I will say that I have no doubt in that you are going to continue evolving as a person and manage the things you set out to do! Keep up the good videos and take care.

I never seemed weak to me! And your struggles actually remind me of my own struggles. In a sense I can say that I am watching your videos because you are so real in them and I feel a connection. Like talking to a friend and we catch up from time to time ;-)

Why do I watch your videos? Because you make me smile and laugh. You have a very unique and wonderful sense of humor. I also love that you display a very strong belief in what's right and wrong, a good moral compass. I look forward to your next video. Watching from Canada. ❤

I watch for your authenticity! and I hope you never lose that as long as you make videos. Sharing what makes you feel weak, what makes you feel strong, it's all part of how people might learn to understand one another and have patience for each other. In your own way, you are doing something that brings the world closer together, whether that's what you meant to when you started your channel or not. These are all very good videos in opening a window to a slice of real life miles and miles away. I hope future Natasha is as happy as this Natasha sees her :) ps. nice glasses

It’s so good to see you again, Natasha. (Love the glasses!) I’m glad you still have your freedom and access to KZread - I admit I worry a little about you when I haven’t seen any new videos from you for awhile. You’re going through a time in your life I remember from own early twenties. Questioning everything, worrying about my ability to “find myself” and mature into a happy, successful adult. I have no doubt you will succeed in those things. And, remember, you have hundreds of thousands of supporters around the world wishing you the best! Good luck with that treatise! I’m eager to see you as you start your quest to find a new country to settle in.

Natasha, thank you for sharing your thoughts. What you are going through sorting out how things fit together is exactly normal, with the big difference being that the world is particularly crazy right now, which upsets the landscape. It's very challenging to sort out how to survive and thrive in the rapidly tectonic environment we are living in. So many people have been touched by you so don't forget the impact that you have. Best of luck to you!!
