That was a great conversation!!! I've never been a fan of compulsory education (you're right that it's memorization) ...But I didn't actually realize that until I was a father. In low income areas of the states, we aren't taught 'if you love something, you can make it a career'. We were always told college (for something you may never use), military, or work some kind of store gig. And that's why my daughter went to culinary school instead of college.

how cool that you realized it when you became a father and I love that your daughter went to culinary school breaking the pattern of societal norms in your area. I also realized as a mother that I was subconsciously afraid for my children if they won't have some "secure" degree. Thank you, Danté!
