Wow!! This is so good! Several years ago I started listening to a teacher(s) who speaks of the law, generational curses, witchcraft, sin, and evil dreams, fasting, and demonic covenants. It seemed to serve me at first but over the last few years I feel burdened by those teachings because I feel like anytime I fall, anytime I have a wicked dream that by those teachings I need to fast and fast for days on end over and over. I feel like I would be fasting every day of my life. My walk doesn’t feel peaceful in some ways and I feel narcotic or in fear of making the wrong decision. Sometimes it feels like desires I have can’t happen unless I break this and break that, if that makes sense. It’s an odd place to be. This was refreshing teaching.

That’s literally how it was for me in the beginning of my walk with Christ. I was led so astray that I even stopped seeking the Lord at one point all because of fear. I finally left those churches and now I’m back in the Lord by His grace and mercy and it’s now a healing journey of His love which is all that I needed. Even the way I pray is different and so much more peaceful cause I’m learning to rely on the finish work of the cross that the Lord Jesus Christ did rather than me saying I break every etc😂 I feel now that my walk is SO peaceful

THANK YOU!! I’ve been surrounded by hyper-charismatic family and the other half is shall we say “everything goes” we’re all going to heaven. I’ve battled “advice” and all these burdensome formulas for freedom. Makes me feel crazy. I want, seek peace! Inside I’ve really felt a lot of it has been false teachings.

I can’t email but I just saw a meme - one of many - we are saved to serve and EVERYTHING WE DO SHOULD BE SERVING. This is difficult coming from black & white thinking and ocd scrupulosity…. how do you balance that and having time to do a craft class or something we want to do? I try to be mindful of others wherever I’m at and how I can minister BUT when it comes from the pulpit serving is through the church and their stuff…. is that why God saved me? to serve? Isn’t serving a natural desire as we realize how precious He is and His love for us, right. I have by the way, lost years and years trying to break generational curses. Oh boy have you displayed exactly the carwash deliverance thing…. This is a great teaching!!!!!

Thanks for addressing this! I believe in generational sin, generational cycles, and familiar spirits. The term “curse” and the whole prayer formula surrounding it made it look and sound very weird and extremely unbiblical. It never made sense to me. It’s definitely an OT paradigm! If I commit a sin then yes I’m guilty and need to repent, but I can’t repent for supposed witchcraft in my family 10 generations back. I went to a healing ministry recommended by a friend and this all came up. I argued with them a little about the theology, but didn’t want to be rude. Then I second guess myself because so many people believe this, but I don’t see it in scripture the way they are describing it. I agree with everything you said on here! Thanks Mark 🙏🏻🩷

Mark I have adhd, depression, and anxiety. I have to get back on meds. I have pmdd which made my life hell for 15 years. I had to have a full oopherectomy at 33. Made my anxiety turn into ocd. Your work helps. I stopped listening you said not to obsess but then I get worse. I deal with rejection sensitive dysphoria so I take things personally and can spin for months. I avoid people I spend all my time in bed. Allergies and this heat makes my mental health so much worse. I have been on medication on and off since high school. I was on Prozac helped me a lot then I called out narcissistic leaders on my worship team and was gaslighted pastor was so rude and I left the church. I isolated for a year stopped meds from side affects I can’t be consistent exercising and gained weight. My husband runs daily and judges me. ADHD causes so much shame I am just counting the days till my appointment to get meds. I have kids and I feel selfish for surviving and trying to get by.

This teaching is so needed! I also think that we see God dealing with nations in the OT more as opposed to now. For instance, Asher was of the Shem line which was blessed and so God sent a warning of repentance to the people of Nineveh through Jonah and they were saved. So I can see why there would be generations that were cursed such as Canaan and some who were blessed.

I believe in generational sins, but not generational curses. When I started hearing the teaching some 20 years ago in a church about generational curses I had immediate unease. How can a born again Christian be under aANY kinds of curse by Satan. I immediately prayed and ask God to show me in the scriptures what was the truth. 1st He reminded me that in scripture as early as the book of Genesis, He himself was the one who Authored the original curses on Satan and Adam and Eve. Satan is not the author of curses, but is himself cursed by God! Scripture also says that a curse spoken without a cause cannot land on you! In essence if anyone has spoken words over you those words cannot penetrate the Blood of Christ over your life as a born again believer! So as a believer you don’t have to fear any demonic curses… stand fast in the truth of Gods word and who He says you are IN Him!! Next.. the word Generation.. how can we study a generation.. I personally don’t know all the history of my families generation.. so how can I even begin to identify any curses? So again, God reminded me that scripture purposefully shares the generational history of Israel and Judah with us as an example. At no time in scripture did God inspire the writers to pen that those generations had curses from Satan but rather they repeated the sins of their fathers.. I believe the scripture can align with the phrase generational sins passed down.. because we’ve learned some sins from our parents who learned from their parents.. but sins bondage over us is broken when we confess Christ as our Savior and the Forgiver of our sins! I am therefore no longer walking in the sin patterns taught to me and that are also present in me.. but rather I’ve been created anew in His image! This doesn’t not mean that I don’t have to be on my guard about sin.. because we know it crouches at our door constantly.. but we have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to recognize and resist sin so it doesn’t have permanent control over us. And should we allow sin an opportunity to manifest in our words, thoughts and deeds.. then the only way to break that sin off is to confess to the Father what we did and ask for forgiveness! We must stay in the shelter of His wings so that sin cannot overcome us! We are reliant 100% on Him! I cannot overcome any sin.. generation or otherwise in myself!! There is a reason He is called the SAVIOR!! Don’t fall prey to a teaching that Satan can curse you when you are a son and daughter of the King of Kings.. it’s not a curse that separates you from God but rather sin! Recognize your sin, confess your sins. Turn from your sins, be set free from your sins.. live a life in complete dependence on the Holy Spirit! Who is also Faithful to loving let us know if we’ve missed His will in any matter as we sojourn through this life together with Him! All that said.. to say.. I would like the church to stop scaring new believers with the teaching of Generational curses from Satan (who again. There is not one scripture referenced of him being able to curse any one of Gods children.. it’s just doesn’t exist) God is the author of every curse in scripture. So if you are under a curse then you can only be one thing.. in rebellion to Gods will and commandment to us.. God’s word does teach on generations of sin! I don’t need to know much about my grand parents to have their sins passed down to me.. my parents learned it from them and taught them to me.. but once I have been enlightened and set free by the Holy Scriptures which promises me life and not death, I can be free of influence and teaching of my father and mother! I have a Heavenly Father who teaches me His ways and changes me into His image!! Oh the love the father has for us all! If you are a born again believer you are blessed beyond the curse! You are redeemed from curses!

Additional thoughts to add.. Being that God was the first to proclaim a curse on anyone.. see Genesis and Deuteronomy.. those curses were due to sin! Adam & Eve were not cursed until they sinned! In Deuteronomy God clearly says, if you do good you will live in his blessings .. if you live a life of sin against Him, then Gods proclaimed curses will come upon you.. some may say, that makes God evil.. nope.. he created gravity.. so what goes up must come down.. you may not like or agree with the law but nevertheless you cannot change it.. God created the law of gravity so it will always exist. God created the “law” of blessing and curses.. he established its original and meaning. We may not like it or agree but nevertheless we cannot change how it operates. God still blesses those who love and obey Him and curses, disciples, resists, whatever you want to call it.. those who walk in rebellion to His word!! Why are nations blessed or why do they fall? Open and outward sin against Him and His ways for us are why we fall.. He promised us that! Understand this.. He is a Good God!! His ways are not burdensome but bring life ,liberty, peace and joy to the soul!! His words are true and never change! Amen and Amen!

All you need is the blood of Christ. I was happier, more at rest and holier before I came in contact with a Christian who learnt from Derek prince. This person was very law based, they didn't understand the power of the life of Christ in us and he made me neurotic and obsessive and then blamed me for it. I forgave him but I honestly feel spiritually abused even if that may not have been his intention

I used his stuff back when I was a teen and young adult. Deliverance has it place but it can make many Christians obsessive about it.

@marktdejesus it's often confused with that, but it's not a deliverance ministry... that is one thing he makes clear. It does help people close doors to the enemy with the Steps to Freedom, but really emphasizes discipleship over deliverance. There are no quick fixes for sure and I agree 100% there's a deliverance-mania mentality in the church right now. Flesh cannot be cast out, we have to intentionally renew our minds to learn to live from the inside out and take hold of our inheritance. God bless you and your wife. I've loved finding your channel. Ive been told its your past life _ its your karma that we abuse u. Ive been told its your family _ your cursed. Ive been told Im crazy bla bla Interesting that these ACCUSERS know I have past lives _ I dont believe in past lives or karma debt that they get to capitalize on.I also dont believe in telling people they have trauma response that defines them forever.

Mark could you do a segment on scripture related to mob crowd behavior like when they cried out crucify HIM concerning the trial of Jesus our Lord and Savior. It really bothers me when someone's lying and throwing the suspicion at others, and that's what karen Read has done. Aside from a theory that somehow it's a cover-up, all the evidence points to karen. It REMINDS us OF THE Susan Smith case everyone loved her, but she was a good actress and had us all fooled. I watched the Karen Read trial, and I didn't see anyone lieing.All the evidence is incontrovertible. Starting from her frantically screaming at everyone that day .Why would she yell to first responders = I HIT HIM ,I HIT HIM ,O MY GOD I HIT HIM If she did no wrong? why wasn't she asking who could have done this? Is it because she didnt ask because she did it?Who says things like this and dont tell me it was because she was traumitized.Truth is she led Jen and Kerri right to the body in the snow.Wow her own guilt spoke volumes at that time until she decided to not talk. WHO Says things like that. WHEN SHE called Jen, she was screaming and said she had a fight with OKEEFE = admission of guilt.WHO says that if you're innocent, even JOHN OKEEFE told witnesses at Aruba Karen's crazy. Karen wanted out of the relationship and thought JOHN WAS CHEATING on her. It WAS EVEN SICKER in her texts to Higgens that she not only hated JOHN SHE DESPISED TAKING CARE 🤔 OF JOHNS KIDS THERE WAS NO COVER UP. KAREN.DROPPED OFF John and hated the people at the party for once, excluding her, and also hated John for cheating on her . In a rage, she backed into John while he was bending down with a glass in his hand, and her back corner of her car hit John's head and he went flying stumbling off the road onto the lawn. Nobody planted the broken glass John had in his hand on the video. Nobody planted the broken taillight glass. No one planted John's hair found on the bumper. No one planted the bent bumper. No one planted the blood,No one googled the text. How long does it take to die in the snow? That was debunked by JEN and a paramedic RESPONDER. Karen askec Jen to google at a later time. The time stamp in forensics will prove that google had fault.There was an EXPERT SHOWED THERE WAS NO DOG DNA FOUND. NOT ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE O'KEEFFE ENTERED THE HOUSE after dozens of witnesses at the house.YOU SEE people want there to be a cover up because of conspiracy theories, paranoia, history of injustices and hatred of police or any type of authority over you just like in the bible people crucified Jesus .The case was tried in the media with no evidence . The only thing they had was that some leaked heresays were theories, Truth is, if Karen gets off because of the theorists, it will hurt her worse in the long run. But if she repents and admits she hit him and it was in a fit of rage or was an accident, her sentence of keeping her dirty little secret hid will destroy her . But if she comes clean, she will be burdened free of her own self guilt. JESUS SAID YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE.
