Thoughts on Changes to Parkrun Results | Ask The Runners
Спорт
Sportlink TV recently asked runners for their thoughts on parkrun removing data such as speed records from its website to be less ‘offputting” to new participants.
Whilst entrants will continue to receive personalised results via emails and their individual profile pages, the event will no longer record men who finish in under 17 minutes or women in less than n20, in addition to age grade or category records.
Let us know what you think about this in the comments.

like it , pity i wasnt there , i would have said my piece lol , as im a bit of a regular parkrunner , was good to watch this though
Cool report! Thank you, it was interesting! 😊👍🏻 I also make videos of my runs and post them on my channel. 😊🏃
"Park run is not competitive" 🤣 Better not come to Hastings then, It's all out war at the start ! 🤣 "Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others"
Absolute nonsense. The reasons are garbage. The whole "inclusivity" thing is just a ruse. The slower runners, and even walkers were always included. Are always included. Because of maybe a couple of people's feelings of being excluded because of their own insecurities. Well, now they have excluded a whole lot of wannabe athletes and serious athletes, who would be chasing each others records at difering venues. There's basically nothing for them now. I certainly won't bother anymore. And now my local Parkrun has lost a once a month run director too.

200% behind you since I totally agree. We watched this happen without consultation but most people will be oblivious and even if they were told, I bet most people would shrug their shoulders and carry on. Because I feel tragically that’s the kind of society we have now, nobody is able to think about what is actually right and then stand up for what is right. I have left as a mere runner (over 100 times) and volunteer (over 20 times). Nothing compared so some amazing people like yourself. But I will just go and do something else positive and hopefully be part of a better community.
I only just noticed this. A bit of a crock…. Age Grading All parkrun events use Age Grading to help parkrunners compare results. Age Grading takes your time and uses the world record time for your sex and age group to produce a score (a percentage). This score allows you to compare your personal performance against other people's performances even though they might be a different age and a different sex to you - the higher the score the better the performance.

Except it's not sex, it's self-identified gender.
Parkrun used to be for everyone, now the harder you try the more you are shunned. It's not just the record times (handy for judging which one to attend) but the sub 20 women list and the sub 17 men lists were aspirational; no longer.
Was disappointed by the decision...but over it now

I am not forgiving Park Run HQ for this. It is not right. And people shouldn’t be so weak and wishy-washy and accept it. Pathetic! No local Park Run would have deleted their local course records, so it’s not right that a corporate executive can come in and delete everything. Where is everyone’s backbone? Do we not all agree that women’s sport needs to be protected or are we a society who gives in to a few trans bullies in the name of inclusion. Absolutely crazy. Not a society or organisation I want to be part of. Loved being part of Park Run before including volunteering, but no regrets leaving this shit show which everyone seems to not care about if it doesn’t affect them personally. It is NOT RIGHT.
It's a loss, sure, but not a huge one, and we all know why they have really done it. The anti-woke brigade have decided to pick on parkrun as "victimising women" and they are finding themselves in the middle of a huge and bitter fight between the likes of JK Rowling and Piers Morgan. There are issues to be sorted out relating to the participation of trans athletes in elite sport, but parkrun is not the place to have that debate. Leaving the records on view would mean taking one side or the other in that debate, and being bitterly and continuously attacked by the other side - so they have said "if you can't play nicely, we'll take your toys away". I don't blame them - people signed up to organise a nice friendly running event, not to be attacked by the Daily Express.
Pandering to the weak by punishing the strong.
