Wise. Our core mission: teaching, learning, research. Seek first to listen, to understand. Let's commit to the hard work of nourishing our best selves, for our own good, the good of the nation, and the good of the planet.

This is good news. Good in that The University has leaders who are thoughtful, and willing to counsel students to listen to each other without making judgments about the speaker's character, good that they know that angry noise can drown out thoughtful discourse. Would that the community heeds their leadership as they prepare to be the leaders of tomorrow.
